Installing the Dock Adapter
To ensure that your iPod will fit properly into the built-in universal dock, we have included several detachable
dock adapters for your iPod with this product. Please check the bottom of dock adapters to see the compatibility
with your iPod.
1. Push in the drawer for the universal dock. It will slide open.
2. How to insert a dock adapter
a. Choose the dock adapter that corresponds with the iPod you would like to dock. Using the
correct dock adapter ensures the proper fit.
b. Gently push the dock adapter down into the universal dock.
c. Carefully place your iPod into the universal dock. Please note that iPod must not be in a case
or “Skin”.
3. How to remove the dock adapter
•Remove your iPod, then grasp the dock adapter and lift upwards carefully.
ATTENTION: To protect your iPod from dropping while iPod is in the dock, do not shake or move i189 around
aggressively.

OPERATIONAL INSTRUCTIONS
IMPORTANT:
1. To protect your iPod from dropping while it is in the dock, do not shake or move i189 aggressively.
2. Occasionally, files on your iPod can become corrupted. This may cause an erratic behavior with your iLuv products. Apple recommends visiting their
website www.apple.com to obtain instructions on resetting or restoring your iPod to factory settings.
3. It is important that the correct dock adapter is used for the appropriate fit of your iPod into the built-in universal dock. Ignoring these instructions can
cause severe damage to your iPod. Please refer to the section “Installing the Dock Adapter” to install the dock adapter properly before operating the
i189 with your iPod.
Listening to Your Favorite Songs on your iPod
1. Press the POWER button to turn on the unit. The LED indicator will turn on.
2. To listen to music, make sure that your iPod is playing and inserted into the built-in universal dock correctly. Music will begin to play if your iPod is in
play mode.
3. To play music when your iPod is already in the dock and in the standby mode, use the controls on your iPod to select songs and play music..
4. To pause music, use the Pause function on the Click Wheel of your iPod during the play mode. To resume playback, press it again.
5. To adjust the volume, use the VOLUME+ and VOLUME-buttons on the top of the unit.
6. To power the unit off, press the POWER button.
Charging Your iPod
While it is in the built-in universal dock, your iPod will be charged in both power on and power off modes until it reaches the FULL CHARGE mode. To
recharge your iPod, the AC adapter must be connected.
Listening to Other Audio Devices
You can still play music on the i189 from an MP3 player that is not an iPod by using the AUX-IN jack.
1. Use the Volume + and Volume –button to adjust the sound level. You may also need to adjust the device volume.
2. To power off the unit, press the POWER button on the i189.
3D surround sound
1. Press the 3D button to turn on the 3D surround sound while play music, the blue LED will light.
2. To turn off the 3D surround sound, press the 3D button again, the blue LED will go out.

Maintenance
•Place the unit on a level surface away from direct sunlight or excessive heat.
•Protect your furniture when placing the unit on a natural wood and lacquered finish. A cloth or other protective material should be placed between it and
the furniture.
•Clean the unit with a soft cloth moistened only with mild soap and water. Stronger cleaning agents, such as Benzine, thinner or similar materials can
damage the surface of the unit.
Troubleshooting
•The stereo speaker system (i189) does not turn on.
oThe AC adapter may not be connected properly. Check the connection.
oThe wall outlet may not function. Try another outlet.
•Your iPod does not fit into the built-in universal dock.
oThe installed dock adapter is not the correct one. Check whether a correct dock adapter is installed.
oThere might be some obstructions on the dock. Check whether there are any obstructions on the connector and on the dock. If everything is
secured, place your iPod back into the dock.
•It does not have sound output when your iPod is docked.
oYour iPod may not be properly docked. Take your iPod out of the dock, and remove any obstructions on the connector from the dock and on
your iPod. Place your iPod back into the dock.
oYour iPod is frozen or locked up. Check whether your iPod operates correctly before placing it back into the dock. Please refer to the owner’s
instruction manual of your iPod.

Troubleshooting –Continued
•Your iPod is not charged even though it is in the dock.
oYour iPod might not be properly docked. Take your iPod out of the dock, and remove any obstructions on the connector from the dock and on
your iPod. Place your iPod back into the dock.
oYour iPod is frozen or locked up. Check whether your iPod operates correctly before placing it back into the dock. Please refer to the owner’s
instruction manual of your iPod.
oYouriPod is only charged when the DC adapter is connected.
•When playing music, the sound gets distorted.
oThe volume level is set too high. Decrease the volume until the distortion has disappeared.
oThe source sound is distorted. If the original sound source (MP3) on your iPod is poor quality, the distortion and noises are easily noticed with
these speakers. Check your iPod separately.

7) Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
8) Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
9) Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug. A polarized plug has two blades with one wider than the other. A grounding
type plug has two blades and a third grounding prong. The wide blade or the third prong is provided for your safety. If the provided plug does not fit into
your outlet, consult an electrician for replacement of the obsolete outlet.
10) Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the
apparatus.
11) Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.
12) Use only with the cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table specified by the manufacturer, or sold with the apparatus. When a cart is used,
use caution when moving the cart/apparatus combination to avoid injury from tip-over.
13) Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time.
14) Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as power-supply cord
or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not
operate normally, or has been dropped.
15) Grounding or Polarization –This product may be equipped with a polarized alternating-current line plug (a plug having one blade wider than the other).
This plug will fit into the power outlet only one way. This is a safety feature. If you are unable to insert the plug fully into the outlet, try reversing the plug.
If the plug should still fail to fit, contact your electrician to replace your obsolete outlet. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized plug.
Alternate Warnings –This product is equipped with a three-wire grounding-type plug, a plug having a third (grounding) pin. This plug will only fit into a
grounding-type power outlet. This is a safety feature. If you are unable to insert the plug into the outlet, contact your electrician to replace your obsolete
outlet. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the grounding-type plug.

16) Ventilation –Slots and openings in the cabinet are provided for ventilation and to ensure reliable operation of the product and to protect it from
overheating, and these openings must not be blocked or covered. The openings should never be blocked by placing the product on a bed, sofa, rug, or
other similar surface. This product should not be placed in a built-in installation such as a bookcase or rack unless proper ventilation is provided or the
manufacturer’s instructions have been adhered to.
17) The MAINS plug or an appliance coupler is used as the disconnect device, the disconnect device shall remain readily operable.
CLEANING
Always disconnect unit from power supply before attempting to clean it. Use soft cloth moistened with soapy water, and wipe gently.
Do not use solvents or abrasive materials.

This unit utilizes laser technology. Only a qualified professional should remove the cover or attempt to service this device, due to
possible eye injury.
