Installation
Connection of the water supply
To carr this out, use the kit provided which contains all
the necessar elements for connection to the water
suppl .
To improve the performance of the Aqua Care, we
recommend that ou fit a tap with a filter on the pipe for
the connection to the water s stem: in this wa it will be
possible to manuall interrupt the water suppl during
long periods in which Aqua Care is not used.
! The water pressure inside the water s stem must be
between 0.8 bar and 8 bar.
! The appliance must onl be connected to a water
suppl suitable for drinking.
Your appliance is supplied with a 13amp fused plug that
can be plugged into a 13amp socket for immediate use.
Before using the appliance please read the instructions
below.
WARNING:
THI APPLIANCE MU T BE EARTHED.
Replacing fuse covers:
When replacing a fault fuse, a 13amp ASTA approved
fuse to BS 1362 should alwa s be used and the fuse
cover re-fitted.
If the fuse cover is lost, the plug must not be used until
a replacement is obtained.
Replacement fuse covers:
If a replacement fuse cover is fitted, it must be of the
correct colour as indicated b the coloured marking or the
colour that is embossed in words on the base of the plug.
Changing the plug:
Removing the plug
If our appliance has a non-rewireable moulded plug
and ou should wish to remove it to add a longer cable
or to re-route the mains cable through partitions, units
etc. please ensure that either:
- The plug is replaced b a fused 13amp re-
wireable plug bearing the BSI mark of
approval.
or
- The mains cable is wired directl into a
13amp cable outlet, controlled b a
switch (in compliance with BS 5733)
which is accessible without moving the
appliance.
! Before placing our new appliance into operation please
read these operating instructions carefull . The contain
important information for safe use, for installation and for
care of the appliance.
! Please keep these operating instructions for future
reference. Pass them on to possible new owners of the
appliance.
Positionin and connection
Positioning
1. Place the appliance in a well-ventilated humidit -free room.
2. Do not obstruct the rear fan grills. The compressor and
condenser give off heat and require good ventilation to
operate correctl and save energ .
3. Leave a space of at least 10 cm between the top part of the
appliance and an furniture above it, and at least 5 cm
between the sides and an furniture/side walls.
4. Ensure the appliance is awa from an sources of heat
(direct sunlight, electric stove, etc.).
5. In order to maintain the correct distance between the
appliance and the wall behind it, fit the spacers
supplied in the installation kit, following the instructions
provided.
Levelling
1. Install the appliance on a level and rigid floor.
2. If the floor is not perfectl horizontal, adjust the
refrigerator b tightening or loosening the rear feet.
Electrical connections
After the appliance has been transported, carefull place
it verticall and wait at least 3 hours before connecting it
to the electricit mains. Before inserting the plug into the
electrical socket ensure the following:
 The appliance is earthed and the plug is compliant with
the law.
 The socket can withstand the maximum power of the
appliance, which is indicated on the data plate located
inside the freezer (e.g. 150 W).
 The voltage is in the range of values indicated on the data
plate located inside the freezer (e.g. 220-240V).
 The socket is compatible with the plug of the appliance. If
the socket is incompatible with the plug, ask an authorised
technician to replace it (see Assistance). Do not use
extension cords or multiple sockets.
! Once the appliance has been installed, the power
suppl cable and the electrical socket must be easil
accessible.
! The cable must not be bent or compressed.
! The cable must be checked regularl and replaced b
authorised technicians onl (see Assistance).
!The manufacturer declines any liability should these
safety measures not be observed.

Disposing of the plug
Cut off and dispose of the supplied plug if it does not fit
our socket. The cable should be cut as close as
possible to the moulded plug.
Remove the fuse.
WARNING:
To avoid a shock hazard do not insert the discarded
plug into a socket anywhere else.
Fitting a new plug
IMPORTANT:
WIRES IN THE MAINS LEAD ARE COLOURED IN
ACCORDANCE WITH THE FOLLOWING CODE...
Green and Yellow - Earth
Blue - Neutral
Brown - Live
As the colours of the wires in the mains lead ma not
correspond with the coloured markings identif ing the
terminals in our plug, proceed as follows:
- Connect Green and Yellow wire to terminal marked
'E' or or coloured Green and Yellow.
- Connect Brown wire to terminal marked 'L' or
coloured red or brown.
- Connect Blue wire to terminal marked 'N' or
coloured Black or Blue.
If a 13amp plug (BS 1363) is used it must be
fitted with a 13amp fuse. A 15amp plug must be
protected b a 15amp fuse, either in the plug or adaptor
or at the distribution board.
If you are in any doubt about the electrical
supply to your machine, consult a qualified
electrician before use.

Reversible doors
Warning: Before attempting to remove the door, switch off the electrical supply and pull out the mains plug.
It is recommended that ou remove an loose items/fittings from inside the appliance and place food into insulated containers
whilst carr ing out this operation.
You ma require assistance to carefull la the appliance onto its back onto suitable protective materials (i.e. original packaging).
Remove the door
1. La down the appliance on its back.
2. Unscrew, remove and retain the bottom hinge pin.
3. Slightl open the door and slide downward, remove and carefull place to one side.
4. Unscrew the hinge pin from the top right hand side and refit the pin into the hole in left hand side.
5. Use a thin blunt instrument to remove the top and bottom hinge bushes and blanking plugs from the
door, take care not to mark the door handle. Reposition the blanking plugs and bushes on the opposite side.

Replacing the door
1 .Carefull slide the door upward into the hinge pin.
2 .Fit the bottom hinge pin making sure that the door is aligned to the cabinet.
3. Carefull stand the appliance upright in its required location and make sure it is sitting level on the floor. Open and
close the door checking that the gasket makes a good seal without an gaps when the door is closed.
Note: Replace loose items/fittings back into the appliance and leave for at least 15 minutes before switching back on.

Start-up and use
Startin the appliance
! Before starting the appliance, follow the installation
instructions (see Installation).
! Before connecting the appliance, clean the
compartments and accessories well with lukewarm water
and bicarbonate.
1. Insert the plug into the socket and ensure that the red
ALARM and green POWER indicator lights illuminate
(the TEMPERATURE ADJUSTMENT knob must not be
on 0).
2. Turn the TEMPERATURE ADJUSTMENT knob to the
Fast Freeze position: the ellow FAST FREEZE
indicator light will illuminate.
3. When the red indicator light switches off, turn the
TEMPERATURE ADJUSTMENT knob to a medium
position. The freezer is now read to be used.
Usin the freezer to its full potential
 Use the TEMPERATURE CONTROL knob to adjust the
temperature (see Description).
 Do not re-freeze food that is defrosting or that has
alread been defrosted. These foods must be cooked
and eaten (within 24 hours).
 Fresh food that needs to be frozen must not come into
contact with food that has alread been defrosted.
Fresh food must be stored in the top FREEZER and
STORAGE compartment where the temperature drops
below -18°C and guarantees rapid freezing.
 Do not place glass bottles which contain liquids, and
which are corked or hermeticall sealed in the freezer
because the could break.
 The maximum quantit of food that ma be frozen dail is
indicated on the plate containing the technical properties
located within the freezer (for example: Kg/24h: 4).
Freezig
1. Turn the TEMPERATURE ADJUSTMENT knob to the
Fast Freeze position (the ellow FAST FREEZE
indicator light should be on).
2. Place the fresh food ou wish to freeze inside the
upper FREEZER and STORAGE compartment, making
sure it is not in contact with food that has alread
been frozen and, if possible, position it so that it is in
direct contact with the cooling shelves. Bear in mind
that for food to be frozen and stored in good
condition, the freezing process should take place
quickl . For this reason, we recommend that ou turn
the knob to the Fast Freeze position 24 hours before
placing fresh food in the freezer. This action is
necessar when freezing large quantities of food (up
to the maximum amount indicated on the data plate).
3. Placing large amounts of fresh food in the freezer
ma temporaril increase the temperature inside the
appliance (this is indicated when the red ALARM light
illuminates). This situation, as it is onl temporar ,
does not adversel affect the storage conditions of
food that is alread frozen.
4. After 24 hours, once the freezing process is
complete, return the TEMPERATURE ADJUSTMENT
knob to its normal operating position.
! remember to readjust the temperature in order to avoid
wasting energ .
! Do not open the door during freezing.
torage
 Follow the instructions given on the packaging of
frozen food carefull and consume the products
within 3 months of the date the were bought.
 When bu ing frozen food, ensure that it has been
stored at a suitable temperature and that the
packaging is intact. To maintain the qualit of frozen
food, use suitable bags or containers when
transporting it and place it inside the freezer as soon
as possible.
 If the packaging shows signs of moisture or unusual
swelling, it is likel that the product has been stored
previousl at an unsuitable temperature and that the
contents have suffered as a result.
 In order to obtain a larger amount of space in the
freezer, ou can remove the central drawer, and
place the food directl onto the evaporator plate.
Make sure that, after having inserted the load, the
door closes correctl .
! If there is a power cut or malfunction, do not open the
freezer door. This will help maintain the temperature
inside the freezer, ensuring that foods are conserved for
at least 9 -14 hours.
! WARNING Indicator Light. When this red WARNING light
comes on for a prolonged period of time, it means that the
freezer is not functioning properl and the temperature is
rising too much. (Call our Service Centre)
This warning light might come on for a brief period when:
a) the door is left open for an extended period of time
(when the freezer is being loaded or unloaded).
b) the TEMPERATURE CONTROL knob is turned to the
Fast Freeze setting.
In these two cases, the fact that the warning light comes
on does not indicate that the freezer is malfunctioning or
there is a defect.

Maintenance and care
Switchin the appliance off
During cleaning and maintenance it is necessar to
disconnect the appliance from the electricit suppl :
It is not sufficient to set the temperature adjustment
knobs on 0 (appliance off) to eliminate all electrical
contact.
Cleanin the appliance
 The external and internal parts, as well as the rubber
seals ma be cleaned using a sponge that has been
soaked in lukewarm water and bicarbonate of soda or
neutral soap. Do not use solvents, abrasive products,
bleach or ammonia.
 The removable accessories ma be soaked in warm
water and soap or dishwashing liquid. Rinse and dr
them carefull .
 The back of the appliance ma collect dust which
can be removed b delicatel using the hose of a
vacuum cleaner set on medium power. The appliance
must be switched off and the plug must be pulled out
before cleaning the appliance.
Avoidin mould and unpleasant odours
 The appliance is manufactured with h gienic materials
which are odour free. In order to maintain an odour
free refrigerator and to prevent the formation of stains,
food must alwa s be covered or sealed properl .
 If ou want to switch the appliance off for an
extended period of time, clean the inside and leave
the doors open.
Defrostin the appliance
! Follow the instructions below.
Do not use objects with sharp or pointed edges to
defrost the appliance as these ma damage the
refrigeration circuit be ond repair.
If the frost la er is greater than 5 mm, it is necessar to
defrost manuall :
1. Set the TEMPERATURE ADJUSTMENT knob to the 0
position.
2. Wrap frozen foods in newspaper and place them in
another freezer or in a cool place.
3. Leave the door open until the frost has melted
completel . This can be made easier b placing
containers with lukewarm water in the freezer
compartment..
4. The appliance is
equipped with a s stem
that collects the water
produced b the defrosting
process: let the water
collect in a container (see
figure).
5. Clean and dr the freezer compartment carefull
before switching the appliance on again.
6. Wait for approximatel 2 hours, i.e. until the ideal
storage conditions have been restored, before placing
food in the freezer compartment.

Precautions and tips
! The appliance was designed and manufactured in
compliance with international safet standards. The
following warnings are provided for safet reasons and
must be read carefull .
This appliance complies with the following

General safety
 The appliance was designed for domestic use inside
the home and is not intended for commercial or
industrial use.
 The appliance must be used to store and freeze food
products b adults onl and according to the
instructions in this manual.
 The appliance must not be installed outdoors, even in
covered areas. It is extremel dangerous to leave the
appliance exposed to rain and storms.
 Do not touch the appliance with bare feet or with wet or
moist hands and feet.
 Do not touch the internal cooling elements: this could
cause skin abrasions or frost/freezer burns.
 When unplugging the appliance alwa s pull the plug
from the mains socket, do not pull on the cable.
 Before cleaning and maintenance, alwa s switch off
the appliance and disconnect it from the electrical
suppl . It is not sufficient to set the temperature
adjustment knobs on 0 (appliance off) to eliminate all
electrical contact.
 In the case of a malfunction, under no circumstances
should ou attempt to repair the appliance ourself.
Repairs carried out b inexperienced persons ma
cause injur or further malfunctioning of the appliance.
 Do not use an sharp or pointed utensils or electrical
equipment - other than the t pe recommended b the
manufacturer - inside the frozen food storage
compartments.
 Do not put ice cubes taken directl from the freezer into
our mouth.
 This appliance is not intended for use b persons
(including children) with reduced ph sical, sensor or
lack of experience and knowledge unless the have been
given supervision or instruction concerning use of the
appliance b a person responsible for their safet .
Children should be supervised to ensure that the do not
pla with the appliance.
 Keep packaging material out of the reach of children! It
can become a choking or suffocation hazard.
Disposal
 Observe local environmental standards when
disposing packaging material for rec cling purposes.
 The European Directive 2002/96/EC on Waste
Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), requires
that old household electrical appliances must not be
disposed of in the normal unsorted municipal waste
stream. Old appliances must be collected separatel
in order to optimise the recover and rec cling of the
materials the contain and reduce the impact on
human health and the environment. The crossed out
wheeled bin s mbol on the product reminds ou of
our obligation, that when ou dispose of the
appliance it must be separatel collected.
Consumers should contact their local authorit or
retailer for information concerning the correct disposal
of their old appliance.
Respectin and conservin the
environment
 Install the appliance in a fresh and well-ventilated
room. Ensure that it is protected from direct sunlight
and do not place it near heat sources.
 Tr to avoid keeping the door open for long periods or
opening the door too frequentl in order to conserve
energ .
 Do not fill the appliance with too much food:
cold air must circulate freel for food to be preserved
properl . If circulation is impeded, the compressor will
work continuousl .
 Do not place hot food directl into the refrigerator. The
internal temperature will increase and force the
compressor to work harder and will consume more
energ .
 Defrost the appliance if ice forms (see Maintenance).
A thick la er of ice makes cold transference to food
products more difficult and results in increased
energ consumption.
 Regularl check the door seals and wipe clean to
ensure the are free of debris and to prevent cold air
from escaping (see Maintenance).

Troubleshooting
If the appliance does not work, before calling for Assistance (see Assistance), check for a solution from the following list.
Malfunctions:
The green POWER indicator light
does not illuminate.
The indicator lights are on but the
light is dim.
The ALARM indicator light remains
illuminated constantly.
The motor runs continuously.
The appliance makes a lot of noise.
Possible causes / Solutions:
 The plug has not been inserted into the electrical socket, or not far
enough to make contact, or there is no power in the house.
 Pull out and reverse the plug before putting it back in the socket.
 The door is not closed properl or has been open continuousl .
 The door has been opened too frequentl .
 The TEMPERATURE ADJUSTMENT knob is not in the correct position.
 The TEMPERATURE ADJUSTMENT knob is in the Fast Freeze
position: the ellow FAST FREEZE indicator light is on (see
Description).
 The door is not closed properl or is continuousl opened.
 The outside ambient temperature is ver high.
 The thickness of the frost exceeds 2-3 mm (see Maintenance).
 The appliance has not been installed on a level surface (see
Installation).
 The appliance has been installed between cabinets that vibrate and
make noise.
 The internal refrigerant makes a slight noise even when the compressor
is off. This is not a defect, it is normal.
