SAFETY NOTES & GENERAL SERVICING ADVICE
1. This manual is NOT intended as a comprehensive repair/maintenance guide to the appliance.

New range of Washing Machine designed to save time without compromising the performance.
Easy selection of the correct wash programme with new circular programme selector and easily

Detergent dispenser is an integral part of the main door assembly, and can be removed easily for
cleaning / replacement by the customer.
An inner ring of LEDs indicate the programme progress, and in the event of a malfunction the LEDs
will indicate a Service fault code.
NOTES:
The appliance is Cold Fill only.
Models produced before August 2007 DO NOT have a Demo Mode.
Models produced from August 2007 have a Demo Mode - see Page 11.
If / when the Power Module is replaced, this will initiate the auto setting cycle with 5 Rinses,
which allows it to check the water alkalinity and calibrate itself.

INSTALLATION
Unpacking
1. Unpack the washer.
2. Make sure that the machine has not been
damaged during transportation. If it has
been damaged, contact the retailer and do
not proceed any further with the installation
process.
3. Remove the 4 protective screws (used
during transportation) and the rubber
washer with the corresponding spacer,
located on the rear part of the appliance.
See Figure.
4. Close off the holes using the plastic plugs
provided.
5. Keep all the parts in a safe place as they will
be needed again if the washing machine is
moved to another location.
Packaging materials should not be used as
toys for children.
Levelling
The machine may make a considerable
amount of noise if the 2 front feet have not
been adjusted correctly.
1. Install the washing machine on a flat and
sturdy floor, without placing it against walls,
cabinets or other furniture.
2. If the floor is not
perfectly level,
compensate for any
unevenness by
tightening or loosening
the adjustable front feet
(see figure); the angle
ofinclination,measured
in relation to the
worktop, must not exceed 2°.
Levelling the machine correctly will provide
it with stability, help to avoid any vibrations
and excessive noise and prevent it from
shifting while it is operating. If it is placed on
a carpet or a rug, adjust the feet in such a
way as to allow a sufficient ventilation space
underneath the machine.
Water Connections
1. Insert seal A into the end of
the inlet hose and screw the
latter onto a cold water tap
with a 3/4 gas threaded
opening. See Figure.
Before making the
connection, allow the water
to run freely until it is
perfectly clear.
2. Connect the other end of the inlet hose to
the machine by screwing it onto the cold
water inlet of the appliance, which is
situated on the top right hand side on the
rear of the appliance. See figure.
3. Make sure there are no kinks or bends in
the hose.
NOTE: - If the machine does not fill with
water the Door Locked indicator light flashes
rapidly.

Drainage Connections
A. Connect the drain
hose, without
bending it, to a
draining duct or a
wall drain situated
between 65 and
100 cm from the
floor.
B. Alternatively, place it over the edge of a
basin, sink or tub, fastening the duct
supplied to the tap. See Figure.
The free end of the hose should not be
under water.
We advise against the use of hose
extensions. If it is absolutely necessary, the
extension must have the same diameter as
the original hose and must not exceed
150 cm in length.
Electrical Connections
Before plugging the appliance into the
mains socket, make sure that:
- the socket is able to withstand the
maximum power load of the appliance.
- the power supply voltage is falls within the
values indicated on the Technical
Information page.
- the socket is compatible with the washing
machines plug. If this is not the case,
replace the socket or the plug.
Location
! The washing machine must not be installed
outdoors, even in covered areas. It is
extremely dangerous to leave the appliance
exposed to rain, storms and other weather
conditions.
! When the washing machine is installed, the
mains socket must be within easy reach.
! Do not use extensions or multiple sockets.
! The power supply cable must never be bent
or dangerously compressed.
! The power supply cable must only be
replaced by an authorised serviceman.

CONTROLS
THE PROGRAMME SELECTOR
Circular in shape and easy to use; each button has at least two functions.
In the centre of the selector there is a ring of 12 LEDs, which indicate programme progress, and, in
the event of malfunction the LEDs will illuminate in a specific sequence indicating a fault.
A RED LED on the On /Off button indicates when the door is locked and takes approximately 1 - 2
minutes.
NOTE: - This LED will flash if the machine fails to fill with water.
SWITCHING THE APPLIANCE ON
Switch machine on by pressing the On / Off button
The symbol on the On / Off button lights up and an audible sound will be heard.
The programme buttons start flashing and the inner ring of LEDs light up one after another
At this point the machine is in stand by and is ready for use.
SELECTING / STARTING A PROGRAMME
Load the machine with laundry.
Load detergent and fabric softener.
Start the required programme by pressing the relative programme button.
The programme will start after a brief pause.
The power on button and selected programme button LED will remain lit, all other programme LEDs
and the inner ring of LEDs will switch off.

PAUSING / RE-STARTING A PROGRAMME
To activate the washing machines "Pause" function press the programme button of the programme
in progress.
The Power On button remains lit, the LED of the programme in progress flashes slowly, and the
central ring of LEDs start to flash (depending how far the appliance is into its programme will depend
on how many central LEDs are lit).
To Re-start the programme after activating the Pause function, press the programme button once.
RE-SETTING A PROGRAMME IN PROGRESS
To reset a programme in progress, press and hold down the On / Off button for more than 2 seconds,
an audible sound will be heard. At this point the programme in progress will be cancelled and the
machine will switch off. (Approximately 1 - 2 minutes from power off the door lock will disengage.)
CAUTION: - Do not switch the appliance off during the drain cycle, as this will leave the water in the
drum potentially higher than the door seal lip depending on the programme.
NOTE: - BEFORE the machine switches off it will automatically run a drain cycle. This will happen
regardless if the appliance has water in it or not. During draining, the power on button will flash.
PROGRAMME PROGRESS
The inner ring of LEDs indicates the progress of the wash programme.
These start to light up in a clockwise direction, starting from the LED at the 12 O'clock position as
more LEDs light up, the previous ones remain lit.
AT THE END OF THE SELECTED PROGRAMME
When the wash programme ends, the Power On LED and the selected programme LED remain lit,
the inner ring of LEDs will begin to flash.

PROGRAMMES
There are 4 programme buttons, which can be used to select 6 different wash programmes.
Standard 60°C Cotton Wash cycle:
Default spin setting 1200 rpm or 1400 rpm depending on model.
Mixed Coloureds Easy Iron:
Wash cycle suitable for garments of mixed colours in Cotton or Synthetic
fabric.
Wash temperature 40°C.
The spin cycle must be suitable reduced to guarantee the Easy iron faction.
Default spin setting is 1000 rpm, except for the last 20 seconds when the
appliance increases to full speed.
Delicates with Final Spin
Suitable for garments with Cotton, Synthetic Wool fabric.
Press the Delicate programme button. After approximately 3 seconds, the
Delicate and Rapid programme lights begin to flash slowly. At this point
press the Delicate programme button again to start the wash cycle which
ends with a soft spin (600 rpm).
Delicates without Final Spin
Suitable for garments in silk and viscose, curtains. Not suitable for Wool
garments.
Press the Delicate programme button. After approximately 3 seconds the
Delicate and Rapid programme lights begin to flash slowly. At this point
press the Rapid programme button again to start the wash cycle, which
ends with a drain only cycle.
Rapid 30 Minute / Rinse Only
Thewashingmachine usestheconductivitysensorbeforestartingthewash
in order to ascertain whether the user has loaded the laundry with detergent
in the drum (i.e. handwash items).
If the laundry loaded has detergent present, the machine will detect this and
activate the Rinse Only programme, performing 2 x 15 minute rinse cycles.
If the laundry loaded has NO detergent detected by the conductivity sensor,
the Rapid 30 wash will be activated. The default spin setting for this
programme is 800 rpm.

DEMO MODE
During August 2007 production, DEMO mode was introduced to the MOON Machines SIXL145UK,
SIXL145SUK & SIXL145DUK.
Models produced before this date do not have the feature.
To Activate Demo Mode
1. Apply power to the machine - DO NOT SWITCH ON.
2. Press and hold all 4-programme buttons simultaneously for
approximately20-30 seconds,allof the innerringofblueprogresslights
will illuminate and an audible bleep will be heard.
3. Demo is now active, to commence light sequence press any programme
button.
To De-activate Demo Mode
1. Press and hold the ON / OFF button to turn machine OFF.
2. Hold all 4-programme buttons for approximately 3-4 seconds until a
rapid audible bleep is heard.
3. Alternatively - remove the mains plug, this should re-set the
machine and remove it from DEMO mode.
DEMOis now removed andnormal wash programmes can nowbe selected.

DOOR / DISPENSER / WATER INLET SYSTEM
The machine is fitted with a self cleaning
detergent dispenser which enhances the wash
quality.
The new door does not allow you to see the
wash load inside the washing machine.
In the inner part of the door there is a pocket
which holds the dispenser assembly. In the
lower part of the pocket there is a drip tray with
a sponge, this is designed to catch water
droplets from the inner surface of the door and
prevent them from dripping onto the floor.
The dispenser can be removed very easily for cleaning and replacement.
The dispenser has three compartments.
(1) Is for liquid detergent
(2) Is for powder detergent
(3) Is for fabric conditioner
Water Inlet System
The machine uses an inlet system designed around two
solenoid valves and a dispenser connected by two
hoses, the appliance will start loading water via solenoid
valve 1, but activates the OKO system only with the
Cotton 60°C programme.
During the wash phase water is loaded as follows:
The washing machine loads water with the first solenoid
valve (1) without detergent. For OKO operation water is
drained for 2 seconds (only for the Standard Cotton
60°C).
The machine finishes loading water with the second
solenoid valve (2) through the detergent compartments,
flushing detergent into the drum.
During the final rinse phase, the machine loads water
through the fabric conditioner compartment by
energising BOTH solenoid fill valves at the same time.

WATER FILLING SYSTEM
The washing machine loads with water with the first solenoid (1) without detergent. Water is drained
for 2 seconds (only for the Standard Cotton 60°C).
The machine finishes loading water with the second solenoid valve (2) through the detergent
compartments, flushing detergent into the drum. During the rinse phase, the machine loads water
through the fabric conditioner compartment by energising BOTH solenoid valves at the same time.

THE CONDUCTIVITY SENSOR
The appliance is equipped with a conductivity sensor.
The sensor is located on the plastic tub next to the OKO
sump hose.
The sensor manages the 30 minute or daily programme.
The appliance does not have a pre-set fixed pH value:
During the first cycle after installation the machine runs an auto setting
cycle with 5 rinses which allows it to detect the water alkalinity and
calibrate itself. The auto setting cycle is repeated every 50 cycles.
During normal operation the machine will load with water and at this point
an alkalinity reading is taken by the sensor / software. If no alkalinity is
detected (detergent), the machine will activate the standard 30 minute
wash cycle.
If detergent is detected (from clothes that have been washed by hand),
2 x 15 minute rinse cycles will be activated.
THE VENT TUBE
The vent tube is connected to the part
of the tub where the water inlet
dispenser hose is normally connected;
at the other end the steam outlet hose
is located next to the water inlet valve.

EEPROMS
Before programming a blank Eeprom via E-mit identify the correct Eeprom before fitting to the
Power Board.
Eeproms manufactured by ST are used on current production and for spare part requirements.

EVO2 Eeproms are manufactured by ST. These also have a unique identification number as shown.
Fitting
The correct orientation when fitting any version Eeprom is shown below:

CONTROLS INFORMATION
A single control board located at the back of the machine contains all the circuitry to control the
machine and interfaces with the programme selector, option buttons and LEDs located on the
console panel. The control board has an access port to the rear of the machine.
MAIN BOARD PROGRAMMING - For Modules with fixed EEProm
PROGRAMMING (Using EMIT)
This machine can be programmed via the Emit, using a USB lead (Part number C00222800),
Hardware key (Part number C00115587) & the Memwriter software.
The module will always be supplied
without a programme when
supplied as a spare part.
NOTE: This board does not have a
physically replaceable EEProm.
Programming a Main Board
There are a number of ways the
board can be programmed - some
of which are not applicable to
certain markets.
Types of programming:
1. Handheld Terminal (Not UK)
2. Emit / Memwriter (UK Indesit
Service Engineers)
3. Smart Reader & Smart Card
(certain areas of UK market)

PROGRAMMING (Using Smartcard Reader / Card)
If the Main Module has been replaced during a repair the board will require programming using the
following method.
1. Do NOT connect the machine to electrical supply.
2. Insert the pre-programmed card into the Card
reader. Care must be taken at this point to ensure
the card is inserted correctly with the Chip on the
card facing the PCB of the Reader.
3. Insert the Reader & Card into module connection
port - see photo.
4. Connect the machine to the Electrical supply, the
LED's on the Smart Card Reader will light in this
sequence:
a) Red ON: Good Communication between Smart Card
Reader & Card.
b) Red ON; Green Blinking: Download taking place.
c) At end, Green ON ---> Download OK.
d) At end, Red ON or RED Flashing ---> Download
NOT OK.
5. Programming Complete, disconnect the machine
from Electrical supply.
6. Remove the Smart Card Reader.
