CEILING MOUNT INSTALLATION GUIDE
The LitePro 600 Series LiteMountTM makes it easy
to hang your LitePro from the ceiling for fixed
installation use in meeting, auditorium and
training room settings.
WARNING: This installa-
tion must be performed in
compliance with your
local building code require-
ments. Local require-
ments take precedence
over any instructions given
in this guide.
You must determine the suitability of this prod-
uct for your intended use and assume all risk
and liability in connection therewith. In Focus
recommends that a professional contractor or
other facilities professional assist you in mount-
ing this device. Be sure to take precautions to
meet all local building codes.
Additional LiteMount Products
In Focus offers two additional LiteMount prod-
ucts that may make your ceiling mount installa-
tion easier.
•The LiteMount False Ceiling Plate
(SP-LTMT-PLT) is designed for suspended ceil-
ings with acoustic tiles. It mounts in your ceil-
ing in place of a ceiling tile. It is pre-drilled
with holes to install the LiteMount brackets.
•The LiteMount Pipe Tubing Extension (SP-
LTMT-EXT) allows you to install the projector
in a room with a high ceiling. With the exten-
sion, you can place the projector from 12”
(30.5) to 46” (117 cm) from the ceiling.
Contact your In Focus dealer to order these
products.
Placing the Projector
To ensure that the projected image is not dis-
torted, the projector must be installed so that the
center of the lens is at the same height as the top
of the projection screen.
010-0132-02-eng-ger.fm Page 1 Monday, March 31, 1997 11:23 AM

Placing the Projector
2
The distance from the projector lens to the screen
determines the size of the projected image. Refer
to the Appendix of the LitePro User’s Guide for
charts and tables showing these measurements.
Figure 1 shows an example of a proper LitePro
600 LiteMount installation. The room in this
example has a high ceiling, so the projector is
mounted on the LiteMount Pipe Tubing Exten-
sion. Note that the projector’s lens is at the same
height as the top of the projection screen.

4
Install the Ceiling Mount Base Box on the
Ceiling
WARNING: The ceiling
structure must be able to
support at least 5 times
the weight of the projector
and mounting hardware. If
not, it must be reinforced
according to your local
building codes.
Instructions for installing the ceiling mount on
the LiteMount Flase Ceiling Plate and the Lite-
Mount Pipe Tubing Extension are given in this
installation guide. If you have not purchased
either of these products, consult a professional
contractor or other facilities professional to
ensure a safe installation.
Please refer to the LiteMount False Ceiling Plate
and LiteMount Pipe Tubing Extension installa-
tion instructions for lists of included hardware.
1Center the ceiling mount base box on the ceil-
ing plate as shown in Figure 2.
2a LiteMount False Ceiling Plate - Align the
holes in the base box with the threaded studs
on the plate. Install the 4 washers and nuts as
shown in Figure 2.
NOTE: Refer to the
installation instructions
that came with the
LiteMount False Ceiling
Plate and the LiteMount

3Place the ceiling plate or pipe extension in the
ceiling so that the base box hangs down into
the room.
WARNING: The cables
are not rated for use in
air-handling plenums. If
the dropped ceiling is an
air-handling plenum, the
cables should be installed
within conduit.
4Route the projector’s cables through your
ceiling and out the hole in the ceiling
(Figure 6).
NOTE: When the projec-
tor is mounted on the ceil-
ing from the LiteMount
False Ceiling Plate, it
descends 12.25 inches
(31 cm) from the ceiling.

Hang the LitePro on the Ceiling
1Assemble the hinge pin bolts, washers and
spacers to each side of the base box as shown
in Figure 5. Be sure to place the flat side of the
black spacers towards the base box. Do not
tighten the bolts at this time, leave them very
loose.
NOTE: One surface of
the black spacers
appears to be flat, but it is
actually slightly concave.
When you hang the
projector on the base box,
be sure the concave side
of the spacer is towards
the base box.

Plazierung des Projektors
14
Plazierung des Projektors
Um zu gewährleisten, daß das projizierte Bild
nicht verzerrt ist, muß der Projektor so installiert
werden, daß sich die Mitte des Objektivs auf der-
selben Höhe wie der obere Rand des Projektions-
schirms befindet.
Die Größe des projizierten Bildes hängt vom
Abstand des Projektorobjektivs zum Bildschirm
ab. Der Anhang im LitePro-Bedienerhandbuch ent-
hält Diagramme und Tabellen mit diesen Maßen.
