OnlyuseaccessoriesorsparepartsexplicitlyrecommendedbythemanufacturerforthePIRuc605.
Otherwise,malfunctionordamagemayoccur.Warrantyclaimsareexcludedforanyresultingdamage.
ThePIRuc605mustnotbedirecteddirectlyatthesunorothersourcesofhighradiation(e.g.laser),either
wheninoperationorswitchedoff,asthismaycauseirreversiblemodificationstothemicrobolometer
detector.Theoriginofthesemodificationscanbeclearlyidentified.Themanufacturerdoesnotacceptany
guaranteefordamagecausedinthisway.
Furthermore,itisessentialtopreventthesunorotherhigh‐energyradiationsourcesfromenteringthe
fieldofviewofPIRuc605indirectlyviareflectingsurfaces!
Whennotinuse,alwaysattachthelenscapsuppliedwiththePIRuc605.
Donotremovethelensesinroomswithhighdustexposureorhumidity,asthespecifieddegreeof
protectioncannotbeguaranteedwhenthelensisremoved.

ThefollowingprocedureisintendedtohelpyougetstartedusingthePIRuc605.
7.1 Preparation
Youneedthefollowingequipment:

PowersupplyunitDC12V
EthernetcablewithRJ45connector
SoftwareIRBIS®3.1/plus*/professional*/online*/SDKV4*(LabVIEW*,MATLAB*)
7.2 CameraSetup
EstablishthepowersupplyforthePIRuc605byinsertingthetwo‐piececonnectorofthepowersupplycableinto
thecorrespondingconnectoronthecamera.
EstablishtheEthernetconnectionwiththecomputer:PlugtheEthernetcablewiththeRJ45connectorintothe
networkportofthecameraandcontrolcomputer.
Systeminitialisationcanberecognisedbythecamera‐internalshutternoiseandtheflashingLEDontheEthernet
port.Thesystemisreadyforoperationandcanbeconnectedtothesoftware.
Toturnoffthecamera,unplugtheACadapterfromthewalloutlet.Nofurtherstepsarerequired.
7.3 NetworkAdapterSetting
Afteropeningthe"NetworkandSharingCentre",selectthemenuitem"Changeadaptersettings".Forthispurpose
theusednetworkcardmustbemarkedanditspropertiesmustbecalledupbyclickingwiththerightmousebutton.

8.1 CleaningofLensesandProtectiveWindows
Surfacesoflensesandprotectivewindowsaresensitivetoscratches.Impropercleaningcancausedamage.
Lensesshouldgenerallybetreatedinsuchawaythatcleaningisnotnecessary.Avoidsoilingbywearingprotective
gloves,preferablymadeofcotton,whenhandlingthelenses.
Avoidcleaningthelensesandprotectivewindowswhennotnecessary.Ifcleaningisunavoidable,donot
cleanthesurfacesmorethannecessary.
Whencleaning,firstremovedustandlooseparticlesbyblowingwithfilteredoil‐freecompressedair(for
examplebellowsorcompressedaircan)orwithacamelhairbrush.
Foreasycleaningofadheringparticles,pleaseuseonlyaclean,fibreandlint‐freecloth(unusedoptical
cleaningclothormicrofibrecloth,wood‐freecellulose).Ifnecessary,addadropofcleaningsolution(see
below)inthemiddleofthecloth.Movetheclothslowlyandwithoutpressureoverthelenssurface.If
boththeclothandthesurfaceoftheopticarealmostdryafterwiping,nomarksorstainswillremain.
Inthecaseofheavilyadheringcontaminationorfingerprints,itmaybenecessarytocleanwithgentle
pressure.Inadditiontotheabove‐mentionedcleaningclothsorwood‐freecellulose,surgicalcotton
swabsorcottonbudsarealsosuitableforthispurpose.Thesecanbemoistenedwithseveraldropsof
cleaningsolution.Beforewiping,excesssolutionshouldbeshakenoffbyswivellingthewipes,swabsor
cottonbuds.
Wipeveryslowlyandinonedirectiononly.Scratcheswilloccurifyouwipebackandforthquickly.Usea
newcleaningcloth,swaborstickforeachnewwipe.
Onlyethanolormethanolaresuitableascleaningsolutions.
