a. Cleaning the Stainless Steel bowl
We recommend regularly cleaning the bowl with a sponge or soft cloth and soap. Otherwise a
slightly damp cloth can be used to remove debris. If necessary, areas with hard water or more
tenacious deposits can be treated with cream cleaners. In some cases the cream cleaner and soap
may not be enough. Lime scale and other deposits can be dissolved with a 25% solution of vinegar
and water. After cleaning, rinse the stainless steel bowl with plenty of fresh water and dry with a
soft cloth. Extended contact with, salt or disinfectants that contain bleach (sodium hypochlorite)
products should be avoided. Always dilute these “sanitizing” products before using and rinse
thoroughly afterwards. Using steelwool or hard abrasive powders are not recommended for stainless
steel products.
b. Servicing the Stainless Steel Soap Dispenser
Unlocking the circular cover and lifting it up makes the soap dispenser accessible for filling and
cleaning purposes.
CAUTION: Certain iodine based and other surgical soaps are not suitable for use in our liquid soap
valve. Please contact Intersan if you have questions weather or not a certain soap can
be used. If needed we can provide the appropriate soap valve.
c. Cleaning the spray nozzles.
Sediments can block the nozzle openings and cause an inconsistent spray or low flow.
- Clean all dirt, deposits and lime on the nozzle and especially at the spray openings with a wire

d. Cleaning Strainers
The strainer screens must be periodically removed from the strainers and cleaned thoroughly. If
necessary replace the screens.
Each unit has at least 2 strainer screens. Be sure to check all of them. This will prevent excessive
reduction of the waterflow in the supply lines.
1. Check the Y-strainers (picture 3).
2. Inspect the strainer screen located in the inlet of the bracket assembly (picture 4).
3. Check the strainer screen installed in the head at the inlet of the plastic manifold (picture 5).
In case you have a copper manifold, there is a strainer at the inlet of each valve (pic. 6).

e. Cleaning Drain and Trap
*The beehive drain grid may be cleaned from the outside by turning the grate with a screwdriver
(picture 7).
*In case of excessive deposits in the waste water collector underneath the bowl:
-A chemical drain opener may be used if permitted by local authorities.
-A drain snake or similar device can be used by bending the drain grate inward while using the
device, then pulling the grate back out to its original position.
*The P-trap may be cleaned by removing either the cap or the flexible drain connector (picture

Checking for air leaks:
Each foot push-button remotely activates a valve inside the head. This is a closed system and any air leaks
will compromise the cycle duration or activation. First make sure that each end of the tubing connection is tight
and secure from the foot pushbutton (FPB) to the valves, then check the bladder (P2919) for cracks. The
air bladder and tubing connections are serviced by removing the single allen screw (P2030) and sliding the
cover forward on the foot pushbutton. The valves (P5015) are located in the sprayhead, remove the cover for
inspection. If nothing is loose, next disconnect the tubing (P2869) from the valve and cover the loose end of the
tubing and compress the bladder, check for air leaking back inside the bladder. Recheck the bladder
condition. Recheck the fitting connections at both sides of valves and at pushbutton housings for possible cracks
or stripped threads.

Reinstall in the reverse order
making sure the air tubing blue
nut is pointing towards the top
of the head. Use Teflon tape on
the nozzle fitting for a leak-
proof connection to the valve.
Check that the nozzle is pointing
straight downward. Double
check for any water leaks inside
and out.
Remove the access cover and
turn off the water supply to
the unit.
Disconnect the water tubing from
the valve by pushing in on the blue
ferrel and pulling on the tubing.
Remove the nozzle fitting from
the outside of the head.
Inspect and clean the water
housing if rust or mineral
deposits are present.
Remove the four screws and
disassemble the grey portion from
the brass section.
A. Insufficient waterspray when activating the valve
1. Check to see if the main supplies are open, the water heating system is on and the stop valves
inside the pedestal are open.
2. If the flow is inconsistent between valves, check the condition of the screen at each valve inlet (in case you have
a plastic manifold: check the screen at the inlet of the manifold) .
Service when necessary (see page 3- Clean Strainers).
3. Check the water pressure at the inlet of the control valve. The Sanispray requires a minimum of 17 psi
when the washfountain is spraying.
4. Check the strainer screens. If necessary clean or replace them (see page 3 - Clean Strainers).
5. Check to see if sediments are blocking the nozzles (see page 2 - Cleaning the nozzles).

D. The Spraywater is Cold
1. Check to see if the water heating system supplying the unit is on. The temperature of the
hot water at the inlet of the thermostatic mixing valve should be between 130oand 167oF.
The water pressure at the inlet of the thermostatic mixing valve should be such that a minimum
of 17 psi of flowing pressure is obtained at the inlet of the control valve.
2. Check to see if the hot & cold water supply lines are connected to the right inlets of the
thermostatic mixing valve. The thermostatic mixing valve is marked with H for hot water and
C for cold water.
