PLEASE READ ME FIRST!
Congratulations on the purchase of your new IonWays Athena Water Machine!
Thank you for choosing IonWays equipment for clean and healthy water. This is one of the most
important investments you can make. We value your confidence and we want you to be happy as a new
member of the IonWays family.
IMPORTANT: The Athena comes with 3 glass test tubes for monitoring the pH of your ionized water as
well as comparing to other drinking water products. A red pH reagent bottle also accompanies the
Athena for pH testing. Please keep the drops out of reach of children and DO NOT CONSUME either
the drops or any liquids you in which you have inserted the reagent drops. A chemical residue from the
manufacturing process may be present on the test tubes and can lead to an inaccurate pH reading.
Please be sure to thoroughly rinse the test tubes prior to use. Thank you.
Follow these simple steps to protect your investment:
Watch the short installation DVD prior to installation.

Please learn how to install your unit properly:
The Athena is easy to install and to operate, there are some finer points to remember:
Read the safety precautions and warnings in your Owner’s Manual.
Be sure to take notes as Jay discusses “Adjustments” at the end of the Installation DVD.
While acidic water may have many purposes, we do not recommend drinking acidic water.
Installing your New Athena Water Machine to the Tap:
1. Unscrew the aerator from your tap and attach the DIVERTER (we have provided adapters in case it
doesn’t fit).
2. Attach the ¼” white hose between the DIVERTER valve and the TAP WATER INLET on the bottom
of your water machine. When you attach this, ensure the valve next to the TAP WATER INLET is all the
way open (counter-clockwise).
3. Attach the gray 3/8” hose to the white ACIDIC WATER OULET port
under the water machine. This drains into the sink.
4. Plug in the power and switch on the master switch at the rear of the
machine. This switch stays ON.
5. Turn on the water at the tap. Turn the DIVERTER VALVE so that the
water flows through the unit.
6. Adjust the FLOW RATE. This knob has a distinct impact on machine
performance. With a fast flow, you get less pH / ORP. Slow the flow down and you'll get a higher pH and
a lower ORP.
7. To turn the machine off, either shut off the tap, or turn the DIVERTER back to the normal tap mode.
The control panel will go off in between uses and awakens when the water is turned on.
NOTE: Although difficult to see and pull off, the display on your unit comes with a protective
plastic film. Remove this film.
