10. Manual Operation: The mount can now be used to
observeastronomicalobjectswiththeHC.Usearrow
keys (►, ◄, ▼,and▲)topointthetelescopeto
desiredobjects.Usethenumberkeystochangethe
slewing speed. Press the STOP/0buttontostartor
stoptracking.
11. SetController:PresstheMENUbutton;thenSettings
=>SetTimeandSite.
Before GPS picks up signals (before displaying GPS
OK),checkforDaylight SavingTimeusingarrowkey
to toggle between YandN.Enterthetimezone
offsettotheUTC;forexamples:
Bostonis“UTC‐300minutes”
LosAngelesis“UTC‐480minutes”
Romeis“UTC+060minutes”
Sydneyis“UTC+600minutes”
WaitingforthemounttopickuptheGPS(you’llhear
beep). If the GPS is “OK’d” during setup, just power
cyclethemount.DoublechecktheHCdisplayandit
shouldshowcorrectlocaltime.
[TIPS: All time zones in N. America are “UTC ‐XXX
minutes”.Latitudeandlongitudecoordinatescanbe
obtained from GPS‐equipped devices (navigator,
phone), or from internet and entered manually, in
case GPS cannot receive enough satellites signals or
GPS malfunctions. “W/E” = western/eastern
hemisphere;“N/S”=northern/southernhemisphere.

12. Set Zero Position:The Set Zero Positioncommand
registers the current position as zero position. So
beforeregistering,themountshouldbephysicallyset
atZeroPositioneithermanuallyorslewedbyhand
controller. The Zero Position is defined as the
telescope being on top of the mount head and
pointingtoNorthPole,withCWshaftpointingtothe
ground.Toregister,pressMENU=>ZeroPosition=>
SetZeroPosition.PressENTERtoconfirm.Onecan
also use MENU=>Zero Position=>Search Zero
PositiontosetthezeroPosition.
13. One Star Alignment:PerformOne Star Alignto
correct the Zero Position discrepancy and improve
GOTOaccuracy.RefertoUser’sManualformore
detailsaboutimprovingGOTOaccuracy.
14. GotoanObject:ThemountisnowreadyforGOTO
andtrackingtargets.PressMENU,selectandENTER
Select and Slew.Selectacategory(e.g.,Solar
System), then select an object of interest (e.g.,
Moon).PressENTER and the telescope will slew to
theobjectandautomaticallystarttracking.
15. Sync to Target: Iftheobjectisnotinthecenterof
the eyepiece, use this function to center and
synchronize the object to improve local GOTO
accuracy.PressMENUandselectandENTERSyncto
Target. Follow the on‐screen instruction to perform
thesync.

16. Putthemountbackintothepackage/carryingcase:
It is recommended to return the mount to Zero
Positionattheendoftheobservingsession.Laythe
