Never remove or defeat the ground connection on the power cord of
the Master Control Module that is connected to the HDDS SB112-
400.

into this unit.

INTRODUCTION
Thank you for your purchase of the ISP Technologies High Definition Distributed System
HDDS SB112-400 Wall Mount Subwoofer. This product provides a new level of
performance in distributed audio systems allowing greater system flexibility and easy
installation of distributed sound. All connections are made via CAT5 RJ45 connections
making installation of systems faster and easier using the HDDS SB112-400.

YEARS OF TROUBLE FREE USE. THIS UNIT REQUIRES CAREFUL HANDELING.
All warnings on this equipment and in the operation instructions should be adhered to and
all operating instructions should be followed.
Do not use this equipment near water. Care should be taken so that objects do not fall
onto and liquids are not spilled into the unit through any openings.
The power cord should be unplugged from the Master Control Module when the unit is left
unused for an extended period of time.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO SERVICE THIS EQUIPMENT. THIS EQUIPMENT SHOULD BE
SERVICED BY QUALIFIED SERVICE PERSONNELL ONLY. DO NOT MAKE ANY INTERNAL
ADJUSTMENTS OR ADDITIONS TO THIS EQUIPMENT AT ANY TIME. DO NOT TAMPER
WITH INTERNAL ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS AT ANY TIME. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE
INSTRUCTIONS WILL VOID THE WARRANTY OF THIS EQUIPMENT, AND MAY CAUSE A
SHOCK HAZZARD.

OPERATION
The HDDS Master Control Module is the Master control center for distributed sound
systems using the HDDS technology. The Master Control Module includes six zones
that can be used independently or can be linked to work together allowing the system
designer the flexibility to set up any system with the desired configuration. The block
diagram below shows the basic configuration of the HDDS SB112-400 Wall Mount
Subwoofer. The subwoofer receives power from an AC power source and audio over a
CAT5 cable connected to the Master Control Module or BRC1 controller. The audio
signal is fed to a precision differential amplifier to remove any common mode noise,
filtered with a crossover circuit to produce a low pass and high pass signal, equalized
and fed to DAA Dynamic Adaptive Amplifier power amplifier circuits to drive the woofer.
The output swing can exceed 120 volts and can deliver over 400 watts continuous
power to the woofer. The HDDS SB112-400 includes a rear panel level adjustment that
allows simple balancing of installed systems.
The HDDS SB112-400 requires connection to the Master Control Module with CAT5
cable. A single run of CAT5 can be used if the cable length does not exceed 1000 feet.
DO NOT CONNECT THE CAT5 INPUT CABLE BETWEEN THE MASTER CONTROL MODULE AND
THE INPUT OF THE HDDS SB112-400 SUBWOOFER WHEN THE POWER ON THE MASTER
CONTOL MODULE IS SWITHED ON! THE MASTER CONTROL MODULE MUST BE SWITCHED OFF
PRIOR TO CONNECTION.

Rear Panel
The rear panel of the HDDS SB112-400 includes two RJ45 input connectors, one for
input to be connected to either a Master Control Module or to a BRC1. A single run of
Category 5 cable is used.
The HDDS SB112-400 will typically pull less than 3 amps of current from the AC wall
plug. At maximum or peak level the HDDS 2210 can pull in excess of 4 amps of
current. Connect the HDDS SB112-400 to any of the A, B or C outputs on the rear of
the HDDS Master Control Module or to one of the outputs on the BRC1. There are two
possible ways to connect the SB112-400 into the HDDS system. The SM112-400 can be
used to provide a high passed output to the mid-high speakers used or the SM112-400
can be used as subwoofer support with the mid-high speakers providing a full range
signal. When using a BRC1 as the control source the SB112-400 can only be used as
subwoofer support and cannot provide a high-passed output for the mid-high speakers.
If connected to a BRC1 controller the SM112-400 can either be connected to one of the
two outputs on the BRC1 or can be connected to the output of the mid-high speakers
used in the system.
SUBWOOFER POWER:
The HDDS SB112-400 subwoofer needs to be connected to a 120VAC power outlet. The
HDDS SB112-400 subwoofer has an internal power supply, which generates the power
required to for the internal 400 watt power amplifier. The Audio Input connection
provides the audio signal for the system and internally low-pass filters this input signal
to drive the internal 400 watt power amplifier. The Audio Input signal is also high-pass
filtered and fed to the High Pass output allowing the mid-high speakers used to be high
passed if desired.

Mounting the HDDS SB112-400
Refer installation to a qualified installer to ensure proper mounting to overhead
structures. The HDDS SB112-400 includes a TV mounting bracket for easy install.
Follow the mounting instructions included in the separate bracket mounting instructions
included with the HDDS SB112-400.

WARRANTY AND SERVICE
The unit, parts and workmanship are fully guaranteed to be free of defects under
normal use and service for a period of 3 years from the date of purchase.
Any damage resulting from the misuse or the failure to follow the precautions and
instructions will void the warranty.
In the event that the unit needs to be repaired, please return the unit to ISP
Technologies directly. Simply repack the unit, send a copy of the original receipt, a
note stating the problem, and send it to:

All shipping charges must be fully prepaid.
ISP will not be responsible for any damages incurred in shipping of any unit. Any claim
will need to be settled with the shipping company.
The warranty will be voided if the serial number has been tampered with in any way.
The warranty card must also be filled out and returned in order to activate the
warranty.
