1.10 Specification for storage, maintenance and safety protection of lithium batteries
1.11. Short term storage: when the lithium battery is not used for a short time (e.g.
within 6 months), the original battery manufacturer shall store the battery in a dry, non
corrosive gas place with a temperature and humidity of - 20°C~35°C 65 ± 20%. If the
temperature and humidity is higher or lower than this temperature and humidity, the
metal parts of the battery will rust or the battery will leak
1.12. Long term storage:
1.12.1. If the lithium battery is not used for a long time (e.g. more than 6 months), it shall
be charged with 50%~70% of the power, removed from the instrument and stored in a
dry and cool environment, and the battery shall be charged every 3 months to avoid too
long storage time, low power due to self discharge of the battery and irreversible capac-
ity loss.
1.12.2. The self discharge of lithium battery is affected by ambient temperature and
humidity. High temperature and humidity will accelerate the self discharge of battery. It
is recommended to store the battery in a dry environment of 10°C~25°C and 65 ± 20%.
1.13. Charging and charging capacity control:
1.13.1 charging method: ①the original manufacturer supplied by the battery uses
special battery equipment; ②the customer or user charges the battery in the instrument
and equipment. Generally, the lithium battery has relatively complete protection function
(with protective plate), there are not many other requirements for battery charging, but in
order to prevent safety problems caused by overcharge of the protective plate and
failure of the protective function, it is not recommended to charge for a long time. The
battery shall be taken out after it is fully charged. In addition, the original charger or the
charger attached to the battery must be used during charging, and the operation and
use must be carried out according to the instructions, otherwise the battery may be
damaged or even dangerous;
1.14. Heating treatment method: during charging and discharging (in use) it will generate
heat, but the temperature is usually below 60 degrees. The temperature of the battery
will reach hundreds or hundreds of Baidu in the internal or external short circuit state. At
this time, the battery must be isolated and placed in the sand. Pay attention not to touch
the battery directly by hand, otherwise it will be scalded. When the battery temperature
drops to the normal temperature, it will be scrapped.
Combustion or explosion treatment method: in case of combustion or explosion, it is
very dangerous, and personnel must stay away from it; battery combustion will not
produce open fire, which is usually caused by the ignition of nearby inflammables or
outer packaging boxes due to high temperature. On the premise of taking protective
measures, such as the fire extinguishing method of single or very few battery combus-
tion or explosion: directly cover the burning or explosive battery with sand It is a
large-area combustion. Use dry powder fire extinguisher to extinguish the fire. It is
strictly prohibited to use water to extinguish the fire, because water will cause battery
short circuit.
