Page 2 of 3 Assembly Instructions Revision H
Installation notes:
1. Adjust the vertical position of the leading upper roller such that it will make contact with the carton (this is critical
when printing on a tray pack). The leading roller may be positioned within the print window (see figure 1).
2. Adjust the vertical position of the trailing upper roller such that it is above the print window. This roller needs to
come in contact with the carton and be outside the print window.
3. Adjust the roller bracket assembly so the rollers are about 1/16” beyond the print head nose (see figure 1), the
roller bracket alignment tool (5760-815) may be used to achieve this specification (the alignment tool is not
compatible with the IJ352 printhead). The carton should bump on the rollers but not touch the nose of the print
head. If print appears fuzzy, then the gap between the rollers and nose of the print head may be too big. Adjust the
roller bracket to reduce the gap.
4. When the print head is properly positioned with respect to the carton the retracting bracket should move between
1/16” to 5/16” (see figure 1). If the print head is retracting more that 5/16” then the carton is likely rubbing on the
sheet metal edge of the roller bracket before it comes in contact with the roller. This condition can generate
corrugate dust that could degrade the print quality. Proper guide railing is required to achieve this specification.
The retracting bracket will retract up to 1/2”, however the system is not designed to repeatedly retract this much.
