the accelerator (16).
Operating instruction
Rebound of the machine
Beware of the rebound of the machine. The rebound
is regarded as a sudden raising and kickback that
can be caused by:
accidental contact of the running saw chain (1)•
with a branch or another object,
hitting of the running saw chain (1) on some•
hard material (e.g. metal item, mortar) hidden in the
wood;
operating with the dull saw chain (1);•
operating with the loose saw chain (1);•
sawing over operator’s shoulder,•
unstable position of the operator;•
attempts to get into an existing cut with the•
running chain.
If the rebound occurs, the machine will thrown
itself towards any unpredictable direction, which
my cause severe injuries to the operator as well as
bystanders.
To avoid a rebound, please consider the following
recommendations:
do not warp the machine with respect to the•
surface being processed;
operate only with a well-sharpened saw chain,•
which is stretched as described below;
do not operate above shoulder level use•
stepladders, etc. in such case;
maintain a comfortable stable position while•
working;
never perform sawing with the tip of the cutting•
unit;
use the notched rest (3) as a lever, if necessary;•
do not make any attempts to get into an existing•
cut with the running chain.
Be especially careful by starting side, inclined or
longitudinal cuts, as no use of the notched rest
can be possible in such cases.
Chain brake
The brake of the saw chain (1) is a safety guard•
that is actuated when a rebound occurs, due to
the protective chain brake initiator (4) that moves
forward while resting on the operator’s hand; after
that the saw chain (1) stops in a maximum of 0,3
sec., the engine continues running.
Check the running order on a regular basis any
operation with a faulty brake of the saw chain is
prohibited.
General recommendations for operation
Always hold the machine rmly with both hands,•
the left hand must hold the front handle (5), while
the right rear handle (9). Always seize grips with the
ngers. Working with one hand is prohibited.
Keep the machine to the left of your body at•
some distance.
Prior to contact with wood the saw chain (1)•
must run at full speed. At that the notched rest (3)
must be used to secure the machine on the wood:
this rest is to be used as a lever.
Rearrange the notched rest (3) when sawing•
trunks or thick branches.To do this, pull the machine
backwards to release the notched rest (3) and move
it to the lower position. At that do not lead the
cutting unit out of the cut.
Do not apply any intense pressure on the•
machine. Allow enough time for the machine to
perform the operation. Optimal sawing results can
be achieved when the saw chain (1) doesn’t slow
down due to overload.
Never operate the machine while holding it with•
stretched out arms.
Be careful during the nal stage of sawing. The•
sawn-o material falls down under the force of
gravity which causes a danger of injury.
Lead the machine out of the cut only with the•
saw chain (1) running.
