INTENDED USE
This tool is intended for felling trees, cutting logs,
branches, timber, planks and it may be used for
transverse or longitudinal cuts.
SAFETY REGULATION FOR THE USE
General safety rules
The following listed safety instructions should serve you
for the right use of the tool and for the protection of your
own safety, therefore, please read this very carefully.
When passing this tool to a third person, these
instructions must be handed too.
Retain this user’s manual and all other literature
supplied with your tool for any future reference.
Comply with all the safety information and the warnings
on the tool.
Be familiar with the controls and the proper use of the
tool before attempting to use it and above all, make sure
you know how to stop to use it in case of emergency.

Following these simple instructions will also maintain
your tool in good working order.
∙The tool must be assembled correctly before use.
∙Only use the tool for its designed purposes.
∙On the tool, there may be also decals and further
indications about the safety equipment to use that
must be considered. The prevention of accidents is
dependent upon the awareness, common sense and
proper training of everyone involved in the operation,
transport, maintenance and storage of the tool.
∙Never leave the tool unattended.
∙Never allow children to use the tool. Children
should be supervised to ensure that they do not play
with the tool.
∙Keep children and pets away. All onlookers should
be kept at a safe distance away from the tool when it
is in use.
∙The user is responsible for third parties while
working with the tool.
∙People who aren’t acquainted with the operating
instructions, children, juveniles who have not yet
reached the minimum age for using this tool and people
under the inuence of alcohol, drugs or medication
are not allowed to use the tool. Local regulations may
restrict the age of the operator.
WARNING! The consumption of
alcohol, medication and drugs, plus
states of illness, fever and fatigue will
affect your ability to react. Do not use
this tool in any of these situations.
∙Make sure that all the protective devices (if present)
are tted and are in good condition.
∙Never operate the tool with defective safety devices
or guards (if present), or without safety devices in place.
∙Inspect the entire tool to look for loose parts (e.g.
nuts, bolts, screws, etc.) and for any damage. Check
at frequent intervals if screws and bolts (if present)
are properly tight to be sure the equipment is in safe
working condition. Repair or replace them, if necessary,
before using the tool. Serious injury to the operator and
to the bystanders could result if there’s any damage to
the tool.
∙While using the tool, dress properly. Do not
wear loose clothing or jewelery that could become
caught by the tool. Wear suitable working clothes. It is
recommended that legs and feet are covered, to protect
them from eventual ying debris. Do not work barefoot
or wearing open sandals. Long air should be tided back.
∙Keep handles and grips dry, clean and free from
oil and grease.
∙Use proper protective equipment. Use safety
glasses and safety gloves. Also use a dust mask during
pulverulent operations or if exhaust gases are present.
When necessary, use also non-slipping boots or shoes,
hardhat and earplugs. If the noise level exceeds 85
dB(A), ear protection is obligatory.

protect your own health and the
health of others and ensure a trouble-
free operation of the tool.
∙Do not start to use the tool if it is in an inverted
position or it is not in the right working order.
∙Ensure that you have a good stand, while you
operate with the tool. Keep proper footing and balance
at all times.
∙Keep work area clean. Cluttered areas invite
injuries. Before use, all foreign bodies must be removed
from the working area, also pay attention to foreign
objects during operation.
∙Do not force the tool.
∙Only work in daylight or sufciently good articial
light. Never operate the tool without good visibility.
∙Be careful not to drop the tool or hit it against
obstacles.
ATTENTION! Stay alert. Watch what you are doing.
Distraction can cause you to lose control. Use
common sense.
Gasoline engine safety rules
WARNING! Petrol is highly ammable.
Handle fuel with care.
∙Store fuel in containers specically designed for
this purpose.
∙Refuel outdoors only and do not smoke while doing
this operation.
∙Add fuel before starting the engine.
∙Always allow mufer to cool before lling fuel tank.
∙Never remove the cap of the fuel tank or add fuel
while the engine is running or when the engine is still
hot.
∙If petrol is spilled, do not attempt to start the engine,
but move the machine away from the area of spillage
and avoid creating any source of ignition until petrol
fumes have dissipated.
∙Clean up spilled fuel before restarting.
∙Replace all fuel tanks and container caps securely.
∙Do not run the engine indoor or in a conned space:

dangerous carbon monoxide fumes can collect. Exhaust
fumes are dangerous.
WARNING! Exhaust contains
poisonous carbon monoxide, a
colourless and odourless gas.
Breathing exhaust can cause loss of
consciousness and may lead to death.
Provide an adequate ventilation to
keep exhaust gas level as low as
possible.
∙Never store the equipment with fuel in the tank
inside a building where fumes can reach an open ame
or spark.
∙To reduce re hazard, keep the engine, silencer,
battery compartment and petrol storage area free of
vegetative material and excessive grease.
∙The exhaust system gets hot enough to ignite
some materials. Keep ammable materials away from
the device.
∙The mufer becomes very hot during operation and
remains hot for a while after stopping the engine. Be
careful not to touch the mufer while it is hot. Let the
engine cool before storing the machine indoors.
∙Remove adjusting keys or wrenches before starting
the machine.
WARNING! During the use of certain
gasoline tools, some dust containing
chemicals known to cause cancer,
may occur.
Some of these chemicals are: lead from lead based
paints, crystalline silica from bricks and cement and
other masonry products, arsenic and chromium from
chemically treated lumber and other dangerous
products. If dust is present, your risk from these
exposures varies, depending on how often you do this
type of work.
To reduce your exposure to these chemicals, any
time you do pulverulent operations, work in a well
ventilated area and work with approved safety
equipment, such as dust masks that are specially
designed to lter out microscopic particles.
∙If the machine strikes a foreign body, examine the
device for signs of damage and carry out any necessary
repairs before restarting and continuing to work.
∙If the machine starts to vibrate abnormally, switch
off the motor and check for the cause immediately.
Vibration is generally a warning of trouble.
∙Always turn off the machine and wait until the
machine completely stops whenever you leave
the machine, before carrying out maintenance,
before changing accessories, checking, cleaning,
troubleshooting or working on the machine.
∙It is forbidden to move or modify any of the internal
parts of the machine.
Specic safety rules
Wearing protective equipment
∙Always wear approved protective equipment. It
cannot eliminate the risk of injury, but it will reduce the
degree of injury if an accident happens.
∙Use a protective helmet, hearing protection,
protective glasses or visor; wear protective gloves and
trousers with saw protection, solid boots with steel toe-
cap and non-slipping sole. Generally, clothes should
be close-tting but without reducing the freedom of
movement.
∙Protective gloves must be worn also when
assembling or checking the saw chain, as well as during
operation, in order to avoid injuries caused by contact
with the sharp edges of the saw chain.
∙When using the product you should carry with you:
attached tools and le, properly reserved fuel and chain
oil, things to notify the working area (rope, warning
signs...), whistle (for collaboration or emergency),
hatchet or handsaw (for removal of obstacles), a rst
aid kit.
Operating conditions
∙Before starting to operate with the chainsaw, make
sure there are no people or animals nearby. Keep
all bystanders at a safe distance. Make sure that no
animals, people or objects might come within reach of
your chainsaw (or be injured by falling trees).
∙Make sure there are no objects nearby that might
affect your work.
∙Do not use the chainsaw in bad weather, such as
dense fog, heavy rain, strong wind, etc.
∙Check that the working area is free from obstacles
such as roots, rocks, branches, etc., in case you have
to move suddenly.
∙Always ensure you have a correct balance and a
steady position when using the machine. Make sure that
there is nothing in the way that might make you trip or
lose your balance.
∙Take great care when working on sloping ground.
∙Pay attention to the surrounding environment to be
free to react to a possible dangerous situation.
Using the machine
∙The machine is intended for cutting wood only.
Any cutting of other materials will cause damage to the
machine and right for warranty repair shall become void.
∙Do not saw thin trees or brushes. Cutting of billets
that lay on the ground is prohibited.

∙Use extreme caution when cutting brush and
saplings. The slender material may catch the saw chain
and be whipped toward you or pull you off of balance.
∙Only use cutting equipment and accessories
recommended by the manufacturer.
∙Keep the chain cutting teeth properly sharpened and
keep the saw chain properly tensioned! Keep all cutting
equipment well lubricated and properly maintained!
∙Never use the chainsaw onehanded! Wrap
your ngers and thumb around the handles. Under
no circumstances should the machine be held by its
protective devices.
∙The tool must never be operated with damaged or
dismantled safety guards. Do not operate the tool if it is
not properly assembled.
∙Never use a chainsaw that has been modied in any
way from its original specication. Never use a chainsaw
that is faulty. Carry out the regular checks, maintenance
and service procedures. Some maintenance and service
measures must be carried out only by trained specialists.
∙Never start a chainsaw unless all its components,
accessories and cutting tools are tted correctly.
∙Ensure that all spanners and other tools used to
adjust the machine have been removed and taken to a
safe distance before turning on the device.
∙Never use the chainsaw above the height of your
shoulder and do not start to cut with the tip of the guide bar.
∙Mobile trunks and branch timber should be xed to
a trestle using clamps or other suitable tools.
∙After turning off the machine, wait until the saw
chain comes to a complete stop: it will continue running
mechanically for a while. Do not make any attempt to
stop the saw chain on your own.
∙Carry the chainsaw by the front handle with the
chainsaw switched off and away from your body.
ATTENTION! Under no circumstances
should you touch the cutting part of
the machine with your hands. Do not
touch the moving saw chain with your
hands.
CAUSES AND OPERATOR PREVENTION
OF THE KICKBACK
The word kickback is used to describe the sudden
reaction that happens when the upper quadrant of the
tip of the guide bar (7) (known as the “kickback zone”
[F1]) touches an object and the chainsaw is kicked
backwards.
This dangerous reaction can happen when the guide bar
(7) touches sawn material, but also when the saw chain (6)
is blocked, causing the uplift of the chainsaw which rises
suddenly in the opposite direction, towards the operator.
When the kickback occurs, the machine reacts in this
unexpected manner, suddenly and violently, and can
cause serious, even fatal injury to the operator or to
other people nearby.
The risk of kickback is increased if you use the wrong cutting
equipment or an unsharpened or loose saw chain (6).
When conducting side, oblique and lateral cuts, special
care should be taken, because the notched rest (8)
cannot be used in these situations.
It is necessary that you understand what the causes of
kickback are and how to avoid them, by taking care and
using the right working technique.
To avoid chainsaw kickback:
∙Apply the machine as evenly as possible to the
surface to be cut.
∙Work in stable and balanced position.
∙Never work with a loose or worn saw chain (6);
sharpen the saw chain (6) properly.
∙Never saw above shoulder height.
∙Never saw with the upper edge or the end of guide
bar (7). [F2]; [F3]
∙Always rmly hold the machine with two hands.
∙Use the notched rest (8) as a lever. [F4]
∙Pay attention to the correct tension of the saw chain (6).
∙Pay attention not to hit the running saw chain (6)
on hard material (e.g. metal, mortar, stones etc) which
can be also hidden in the wood or near the area you
are working on.
∙Do not attempt to get into an existing cut with the
running saw chain (6).
UNPACKING
When unpacking, check to make sure that all
components are included. Refer to the drawings on this
manual. If any parts are missing or broken, please call
an IVT assistance center.
ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING! Prior to any mounting,
adjusting, maintenance procedures
the machine must be turned off. Also
pull the spark plug cap (26) out.
CAUTION! Protective gloves must be
worn when handling the saw chain (6).

Installing guide bar (7) and saw chain (6)
1. Place the machine on a level surface.
2. Make sure chain break initiator (9) is into
disengaged position, by pulling the chain break initiator
(9) toward the rear handle (1). [F5]
3. Unscrew the fastening nuts (19), with the help of
the multi-purpose spanner (28) and remove the casing
(4). [F6]
4. Turn the chain tension bolt (23) counter-clockwise
until the end of the screw.
5. Mount the guide bar (7) onto the main unit of the
machine so that the positioning pins (22) t into the
guide bar slot (20). [F7]
6. Mount the saw chain (6) on the guide bar (7),
paying attention to the direction of the teeth.
7. Slip the saw chain (6) around the sprocket (21).
8. Replace the casing (4) in its position.
9. Tighten the fastening nuts (19) by hand.
10. Check the proper position of the saw chain (6), -
the saw chain (6) mustn’t slip off the guide bar (7), and
tension the saw chain (6) properly.
WARNING! Do not use the chainsaw
before tensioning the saw chain (6).
PRE-OPERATION CHECKS
Checking the tension of the saw chain (6)
A loose saw chain (6) can easily derail or cause rapid
wear of itself and the guide bar (7). The tension of the
saw chain (6) should be checked frequently, particularly
before starting to operate, after the rst cuts and
regularly throughout the work (every 10 minutes). The
working lifespan of a saw chain (6) depends on its
adequate lubrication and correct tension.
NOTE: during the rst cuts, when the machine is still
new, the saw chain (6) will loosen quite frequently,
but this is normal during the breaking-in period of
a new tool.
ATTENTION! Never leave the saw chain (6) loose as
it may come off the guide bar (7) while cutting. If the
saw chain (6) is too tight, it could cause overheating
and damages.
To check the tension of the saw chain (6):
∙Pull it slightly aside from the center line of the guide
bar (7) and then release it. Saw chain (6) is correctly
tensioned if it can be lifted up in the middle by max.
3 mm; moreover, it must return to its original position
under its own elasticity. [F8]
To adjust the tension of the saw chain (6):
1. Place the machine on a level surface.
2. Loosen the fastening nuts (19) with the help of the
multi-purpose spanner (28).
3. Hold nose of guide bar (7) (use gloves!) up and
adjust the tension of the saw chain (6) with the chain
tension bolt (23), (CLOCKWISE to increase tension,
COUNTERCLOCKWISE to decrease tension). [F9]
4. Tighten the fastening nuts (19) with the help of the
multi-purpose spanner (28) securely, always holding the
nose of guide bar (7) upwards.
5. Check for the correct tension again.
Checking the oil level
Prior to each use of the machine, as well as after every
10 minutes of operation it is necessary to perform a
check of oil level in the oil tank.
1. Place the machine on its side on a at surface.
2. Clean the surface around the oil tank plug (17) and
unscrew it.
3. Insert the clean rod into the mouth of the oil tank:
if the oil level doesn’t reach 2/3 of the rod’s length, add
oil into the tank.
4. Replace the oil tank plug (17).
ATTENTION! Whenever you rell the fuel tank with
fuel, you must also top up the level of oil in the oil
tank. It is recommended to use standard chain oil.
CAUTION! In order to avoid damage to the
machine, use only oil of recommended
grade. Under no circumstances should
old or recycled oil be used. The use
of unauthorized oil forfeits the right to
present guarantee claims.
Checking the fuel level
Prior to each use of the machine it is necessary to
perform a check of the fuel level in the fuel tank.
The correct fuel for the two-stroke engine of this
machine is gasoline-oil mixture: mix a regular
gasoline (leaded or unleaded, alcohol-free) and a
quality-proven motor oil for oil cooled 2 cycle engines.
Recommended mixing ratio (Gasoline:Oil): 40:1
CAUTION! Use the correct mixture
ratio. The use of any other fuel
mixtures or pure gasoline for lling
up the machine is prohibited, it may
damage the engine and void your
right for warranty repair.

Checking the chain brake mechanism
The chain brake is a safety mechanism that intervenes
on machine shock, for example when kickback occurs.
The chain brake initiator (9) moves forward while resting
on the operator’s hand. The saw chain (6) stops in a
maximum of 0.3 seconds.
An operational test should be carried out from time to
time:
1. Check that the chain brake is deactivated, pushing
the chain brake initiator (9) towards the rear handle (1)
(position 1). [F10]
2. Position the machine on a solid at surface, that
has been cleared from all objects.
3. Grasp the rear handle (1) with your right hand. With
your left hand, hold the front handle (2) [not chain brake
initiator (9)!] rmly.
4. Start engine.
5. Squeeze the throttle lever (18), then immediately
activate the chain brake initiator (9), slowly and
deliberately (position 2).
6. Saw chain (6) should stop abruptly.
7. When it does, immediately release the throttle lever
(18) and switch off the engine.
WARNING! If the saw chain (6) does not
stop when the chain brake mechanism
is activated, have the chainsaw
checked by an authorized service
centre. Do not use the chainsaw if
the chain brake mechanism does not
function properly!
S T A R T I N G / S T O P P I N G T H E E N G I N E
Before starting the engine:
∙Wear proper protective clothing
∙Fill fuel and oil tanks respectively
∙Check working area, objects to be cut and cutting
direction. If there is any obstacles, remove them.
∙Inspect also the machine to ensure it is in proper
working order.
∙Check the chain brake initiator (9): it must be intact
and in good working order.
∙Check the saw chain (6): it must be correctly
tensioned and sharpened.
∙Position yourself in order to have a secure footing
and a planned retreat path from the falling trees.
Starting the engine [F11]
1. Activate the fuel pump (29) until the carburettor has
been fully primed (when fuel appears in the pump).
2. Set the On/Off switch (12) to “I” position.
3. Pull out the choke lever (15) completely
4. Lay the machine down and, while holding the lower
portion of the rear handle (1) with your foot, pull the
handle of the recoil starter (14) smoothly, until you feel
resistance.
5. Pull the recoil starter (14) a few times, until the
engine starts.
6. As soon as the engine starts running, smoothly
return the choke lever (15) back to its initial position.
7. A few seconds after the engine has started, press
the lock-off button (11) that locks the throttle lever (18),
then press the throttle lever (18) to bring the engine to
full speed.
CAUTION! Before pulling throttle
lever (18), be sure the chain breake
mechanism is not on.
Stopping the engine
1. Release the throttle lever (18), so that the engine
goes back to a minimum and the saw chain (6) stops.
2. Set the On/Off switch (12) to “0” position.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
General recommendations
∙The machine should always be held rmly with
both hands, the left hand should hold the front handle
(2) and the right hand, the rear handle (1) [F12]. The
ngers should constantly encircle the grip. Under no
circumstances should the operator work with only one
hand.
∙The machine should only be used under reliable
support conditions. The machine should be held
distanced from the body.
∙The saw chain (6) needs to move at full speed
before coming into contact with the wood. When this
has been achieved, the machine should be xed to the
wood using the notched rest (8). During cutting, this
support should be used as a lever.
∙When cutting thick trunks or branches, the notched
rest (8) should be repositioned. To do this, the machine
should be inclined backwards in order to release the
notched rest (8) and allow it to move downwards. The
machine should not be removed from the cut when
doing this procedure.
∙Do not apply intense pressure to the saw chain (6)
during cutting. Allow the saw chain (6) to work freely,
only lightly applying pressure, using the notched rest (8)
as a lever.
∙Never use the machine with outstretched arms. Do
not attempt to cut in difcult areas or standing on a tree.
Under no circumstances should the work be carried out
above shoulder level.
∙Be careful at the nal stage of cutting. When the
machine has just completed the cut, the sawn-off

material falls down under the force of gravity which can
cause danger of injury.
∙The machine should be taken out of the cut only
when the saw chain (6) is still moving.
Felling trees [F13]
CAUTION! Always wear a hard hat to
protect you head from possible falling
branches.
∙The machine may only be used to fell trees having
a diameter less than the length of guide bar (7).
∙Fence off the working area.
∙Never attempt to remove the machine that is stuck
in a trunk with the running motor. Use wooden blocks to
free the saw chain (6).
NOTE: the direction in which the tree has to fall, should
be determined before the work begins; it is important to
take into account the center of gravity of the crown of
the tree and the wind direction when determining the
direction.
∙Saw a notch (A) in the direction of fall of the tree.
The depth of the notch should be approximately 1/3 of
the diameter of the trunk. Then continue the cut from
the opposite side to the notch (A) with a horizontal
cut (B), starting approximately 4 cm higher than the
previous cut (A).
CAUTION! Under no circumstances
should the trunk be completely sawn
through!
∙Approximately 1/10 of the trunk’s diameter should
be left. If the tree starts to fall, remove the machine
immediately from the cut and move out of the way
backwards or to the side.
∙The working area around the trunk must be free
from obstacles: sturdy support and the opportunity to
move out of the way without problem must be provided
for the operator.
∙Once the saw cut has been nished, start felling the
tree by driving a wedge (C) into the horizontal cut (B).
∙When the tree starts to fall, watch out for falling
branches and boughs that have been broken off.
Pruning of standing tree [F14]
∙Cut up from the bottom, nish down from the top.
Limbing a tree [F15]
∙Limbing a tree is the process of removing the
wrenches from a fallen tree. Do not remove supporting
limbs until after the log is bucked into lenghts. Branches
under tension should be cut from the bottom up to avoid
binding the chainsaw.
Cutting logs
∙Place the log (timber) on a proper support and brace
it such that the machine does not get stuck in the cut.
∙Short offcuts need to be accurately levelled and
reliably secured before they are sawn.
∙Saw only wooden material. Avoid contact with
stones or dirt, since the saw chain (6) will throw them
sideways and in so doing the saw chain (6) could be
damaged.
∙Do not touch wire fences or the ground with the
working machine.
∙The machine is not suitable for cutting thin
branches and boughs.
∙Longitudinal cuts should be carried out with great
care, since notched rest (8) cannot be used under these
conditions.
∙When operating on slopes, always place yourselves
higher than the log to be sawn or to the side of it.
∙Pay attention to the threat posed by stumbling
blocks, branches and roots, etc.
∙If the log you wish to cut is lying on the ground,
saw down halfway, then roll the log over and cut from
the opposite side.
Cutting mechanically stressed timber [F16]
Branches, trees or timber that are mechanically stressed
or lost the pressure after cutting, can produce absolutely
unexpected reactions and cause serious injury or even
death. In such cases particular attention is required.
ATTENTION! Only specialists who
have undergone special training
should carry out such work.
∙If the tree is supported from both ends (look to the
left side of the gure), the rst cut should be made at
the top (A) to 1/3 the thickness of the trunk and then
nish the cut from below at the same place (B) whilst
avoiding splits and machine jams. It is essential that the
saw chain (6) will not be allowed to touch the ground.
∙If the billet contacts the support from one end only
(look to the right side of the gure), start the cut from
below (A) about 1/3 of the diameter and nish the cut
from above (B). In this way trunk splitting and machine
jams are avoided.

MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE
CAUTION! Before carrying out any
maintenance operation, turn off
the engine and wait until it stops
completely.
∙Always keep the tool and the ventilation slots (if
present) cleaned. Regular cleaning and maintenance of
the appliance will ensure efciency and prolong the life
of your tool.
∙If the tool should fail despite the rigorous
manufacturing and testing procedures, the repair should
be carried out by an authorized IVT customer service.
∙Keep all nuts, bolts, and screws tight, to be sure the
tool is in safe working condition.
∙Replace worn or damaged parts for safety.
∙Use only original spare parts. Parts not produced
by manufacturer may cause poor t and possible injury.
∙Store the tool in a dry room out of reach of kids and
away from any ammable material.
∙Store all fuel tanks securely. Never store the
equipment with fuel in the tank inside a building, where
fumes can reach an open ame or sparks.
ATTENTION! When contacting an authorized IVT
Service Center, please keep 1/3 of the volume of fuel
and oil in the tanks.
Carburettor setting
The carburettor has been set to its perfect adjustment
at the factory. If it requires adjusting, take the tool to the
nearest authorized IVT Service Centre.
Guide bar (7) maintenance
∙The guide bar (7) should be reversed every 8
working hours to ensure uniform wear.
∙Regular lubrication of the guide bar (7) (guide rail
for the saw chain (6) and teeth) is essential to maintein
an optimum level of performance.
∙Oil passages on the guide bar (7) should be
cleaned to ensure proper lubrication of the guide bar (7)
and saw chain (6) during operation.
Checking the automatic lubricating mechanism of
the saw chain (6)
The operation of the automatic chain lubricating
mechanism may be checked as follows:
∙Turn on the machine and keep its tip pointing towards
a piece of cardboard or paper placed on the ground.
WARNING! Do not touch the ground
with the saw chain (6)! Maintain a safe
distance of approximately 20 cm.
∙If the cardboard or paper shows an increasing
amount of oil, the automatic lubricating mechanism is
working correctly. If, however, despite a full oil reservoir,
no oil traces are produced, eliminate malfunctions or
consult an authorized IVT service center.
∙The amount of oil to lubricate the saw chain (6)
can be adjusted with the adjusting screw (27), which is
positioned on the bottom body of the machine [F17].
Turn the adjusting screw (27) counterclockwise to
increase the oil feed, clockwise to decrease it.
Checking the condition of the spark plug (25)
1. Put the machine on a level surface.
2. Loosen the anchor nut (5), remove the cover (13).
3. Remove the spark plug cap (26). [F18]
4. Unscrew the spark plug (25) with the multi-purpose
spanner (28). [F19]
5. Purge the deposits from the electrodes of the spark
plug (25).
6. Check and adjust (if necessary) the gap between
the side and center electrodes of the spark plug (25).
The gap must be equal to 0, 7- 0,8 mm.
7. Replace the spark plug (25) in its correct position.
8. Replace the spark plug cap (26) on the spark plug (25).
Cleaning
Clean the machine casing from sawdust and wooden
waste, purge the ventilation slots (10) thoroughly. Do
not use caustic substances or solvents for cleaning the
machine. Avoid any oiling-up of the grips.
Cleaning the air lter (24) [F20]
Clean the air lter (24) after every 50 hours of work.
1. Put the machine on level surface.
2. Loosen the anchor nut (5) and remove the cover (13).
3. Clean the air lter (24) with alcohol and then wipe it
dry with a soft cloth.
4. Replace the air lter (24).
5. Replace the cover (13) and tighten the anchor nut (5).
Checking the sprocket (21) [F21]
Check for extensive wear, and replace it when the teeth
are worn over 0.3 mm.
Cleaning the fuel lter
1. Empty the fuel tank before inspecting the fuel lter.
2. Open the fuel tank plug (16) and use a wire hook
to pull out the suction head through the tank opening.
3. Inspect the fuel lter. Disassemble the fuel lter and

wash it or replace with a new one if needed.
Storing
∙After operation, store the machine only with the
cutting unit covered.
∙Do not lay any items onto the tool, during storage.
∙Should the machine be stored for an extended
period of time, empty the fuel and oil out of the tank.
Remove spark plug (25). Remove the cutting unit, place
the saw chain (6) and guide bar (7) into an oil bath for a
short time, following that, wrap them up in oiled paper.
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
Recycle raw materials instead of

wird durch örtliche Rechtsvorschriften bestimmt.
VORSICHT! Alkohol, einige
Heilmittelpräparate und berauschende
Mittel sowie Krankheit, Fieber
und Müdigkeit vermindern die
Geschwindigkeit der Reaktion. In
oben genannten Fällen benutzen Sie
das Werkzeug nicht.
∙Versichern Sie sich, dass alle Schutzeinrichtungen
(falls vorhanden) installiert und nutzungsfähig sind.
∙Benutzen Sie das Werkzeug ohne
Schutzeinrichtungen (falls vorhanden), oder falls sie
beschädigt sind, nicht.
∙Prüfen Sie das Werkzeug in bezug auf den Bestand
von losen Teilstücken (Muttern, Bolzen, Schrauben
usw.) oder Beschädigungen. Um sichere Arbeit des
Werkzeuges zu gewährleisten, prüfen Sie regelmäßig,
ob Bolzen und Schrauben gut festgezogen sind (falls
vorhanden). Bei Bedarf führen Sie vor dem Einsatz
des Werkzeuges ihre Reparatur oder ihren Austausch
durch. Im Falle des Einsatzes des beschädigten
Werkzeuges können dem Bedienenden oder Dritten
ernste Verletzungen zugefügt werden.
∙Verwenden Sie bei der Arbeit eine entsprechende
Arbeitskleidung. Weite Kleidung, Schmuckstücke können
von beweglichen Teilen mitgenommen werden. Arbeiten
Sie nur in entsprechender Arbeitskleidung. Schützen
Sie ihre Beine und Füße vor auseinanderiegender
Feine. Arbeiten Sie barfuß oder in offenen Sandalen
nicht. Tragen Sie langes Haar hinten zusammen.
∙Halten Sie Haltegriffe und Halter trocken und
sauber.
∙Verwenden Sie entsprechende PSA. Verwenden
Sie Schutzbrille und Handschuhe. Bei der Arbeit mit
Pulvern oder bei dem Auswurf von Abgasen verwenden
Sie den Staubrespirator. Bei Bedarf ziehen Sie
gleitsichere Schuhe, den Schutzhelm und schützen Sie
ihre Gehörorgane mit Ohrstöpseln. Wenn die Lautstärke
85 dB(A) überschreitet, verwenden Sie unbedingt
Gehörschütze.
VORSICHT! Verwenden Sie
persönliche Schutzausrüstung!
Die Schutzeinrichtungen und PSA
gewährleisten die Sicherung ihrer
Gesundheit und die Gesundheit der
Umstehenden sowie garantieren
störungsfreie Arbeit des Werkzeuges.
∙Lassen Sie das Werkzeug nicht an, wenn es
umgedreht oder im Ruhezustand ist.
∙Während der Arbeit nehmen Sie die
Beharrungsstellung. Halten Sie immer das
Gleichgewicht.
∙Halten Sie die Sauberkeit im Arbeitsbereich ein.
Auf den gesperrten Abschnitten ist ein hohes Niveau
von Unfällen. Vor dem Einsatz des Werkzeuges räumen
Sie von der Arbeitsäche alle Fremdkörper auf sowie
vermeiden Sie den Eintritt von Fremdkörpern unter das
Werkzeug während der Arbeit.
∙Drücken Sie stark auf das Werkzeug während der
Arbeit nicht.
∙Benutzen Sie das Werkzeug nur bei gutem Tages-
oder Kunstlicht. Benutzen Sie das Werkzeug bei
schlechter Sicht nicht.
∙Lassen Sie das Werkzeug nicht fallen, lassen
Sie den Anstoß des Werkzeuges auf irgendwelche
Hindernisse nicht zu.
VORSICHT! Gut aufpassen. Schauen Sie von dem
durch das Werkzeug bearbeitenden Stück nicht

weg. Indem man ablenkt, kann man die Steuerung
verlieren. Arbeiten Sie vernünftig.
Arbeitsschutzbestimmungen bei der Arbeit mit
Benzinmotor
ACHTUNG! Benzin ist ein
leichtentammender Stoff. Vorsichtig
mit dem Brennstoff.
∙Bewahren Sie den Brennstoff nur in speziellen
Kanistern auf.
∙Tanken Sie nur in der Freiluft auf, rauchen Sie beim
Tanken nicht.
∙Zuerst tanken, dann den Motor anlassen.
∙Bevor Sie auftanken, lassen Sie den Dämpfer
abkühlen.
∙Öffnen Sie das Tankdeckel nicht und tanken Sie bei
dem laufenden oder nicht abgekühlten Motor nicht auf.
∙Im Falle des Übergießens des Benzins lassen Sie
den Motor nicht an, schieben Sie das Werkzeug von
dem übergossenen Benzin zur Seite und lassen Sie die
Entstehung der Entammung nicht, bis Benzindämpfe
abströmen.
∙Reiben Sie den übergossenen Brennstoff trocken,
bevor Sie den Motor anlassen.
∙Schließen Sie den Benzintank oder Kanister fest.
∙Lassen Sie das Werkzeug in dem Raum oder im
geschlossenen Raum nicht an, um die Ansammlung
vom gefährlichen Stickoxid zu vermeiden. Die Abgase
sind gesundheitsgefährlich.
ACHTUNG! In Abgasen ist giftiges
Stickoxid, das weder Farbe,
noch Geruch hat, enthalten. Das
Aufatmen von Abgasen kann zum
Bewusstseinsverlust und Todesfall
führen. Zur Vermeidung von der
Ansammlung der Abgase sichern Sie
entsprechende Lüftung.
∙Bewahren Sie das Werkzeug mit Benzin im Tank in
dem Raum, wo Dämpfe entammen können, nicht auf.
∙Um das Risiko des Brandes zu reduzieren, halten
Sie den Platz der Aufbewahrung des Motors, des
Dämpfers, des Batteriekastens und der Benzinlagerung
sauber.
∙DasAbgassystem erhitzt sich genug dafür,umeinige
Stoffe zu entammen. Bewahren Sie das Werkzeug
in der sicheren Entfernung von leichtentammenden
Stoffen auf.
∙Während der Arbeit erhitzt sich der Dämpfer sehr
und bleibt nach dem Ausschalten einige Zeit heiß.
Berühren Sie den Dämpfer nicht, um die Brandverletzung
zu vermeiden. Bevor Sie das Werkzeug in den
geschlossenen Raum tragen, lassen Sie den Motor
abkühlen.
∙Vor dem Anlass des Werkzeuges entfernen Sie
Einstellkeile und Stellschlüssel.
ACHTUNG! Manchmal während der
Arbeit der Werkzeuge mit Benzinmotor
bildet sich Staub, der die den Krebs
erregende Stoffe enthält.
Zu solchen chemischen Stoffen gehören: Blei in
Bleioxid, Quarz, der zum Bestand des Backsteins und
des Zements gehört, Arsen und Chrom, die im
Schnittholz, das durch chemische Reagens behandelt
ist, enthalten sind, und sonstige schädliche Stoffe. Das
Risiko der Einwirkung dieser chemischen Stoffe hängt
von der Häugkeit der Durchführung der mit ihnen
verbundenen Arbeiten ab.
Um ihre schädliche Einwirkung zu reduzieren,
arbeiten Sie in einem gut gelüfteten Raum und
benutzen Sie entsprechende fehlerfreie PSA, z.B.,
Staubrespiratoren, die speziell für die Auslterung
von mikroskopischen Teilchen entwickelt sind.
∙Bei dem Eintritt eines Fremdkörpers unter das
Werkzeug prüfen Sie es auf das Vorhandensein von
Beschädigungen und machen Sie eine notwendige
Reparatur.
∙Bei dem Entstehen der Übervibration schalten
Sie das Werkzeug aus und stellen Sie umgehend die
Ursache fest. Die Vibration ist gewöhnlich ein Zeichen
der Störung.
∙Bevor Sie Ihren Arbeitsplatz verlassen, führen
Sie die Reparatur, Sichtkontrolle oder Reinigung des
Werkzeuges, schalten Sie es aus und warten Sie auf
vollständiges Stoppen von beweglichen Teilen.
∙Es ist verboten, die Innenteile des Werkzeuges
abzumontieren und zu ändern.
Besondere Arbeitsschutzvorschriften
Anwendung der Schutzausrüstung
∙Ziehen Sie immer die zertizierte Schutzausrüstung
an. Sie kann das Risiko der Verletzung nicht
ausschließen, aber schwächt die Verletzungsschwere,
wenn ein Unfall passiert.
∙Benutzen Sie den Arbeitsschutzschelm, den Schutz
für Gehörorgane, Schutzbrille oder Geschichtsschild;
ziehen Sie Schutzhandschuhe und Hose mit
Schutzschicht, die vor der Säge schützt, feste Schuhe
mit Stahlschutzkappe und rutschsicherer Sohle. Als
allgemeingültige Regel soll die Kleidung anschließend,
