TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Precautions/Warnings
It is necessary to comply with all national regulations,
especially those referring to national and European standards,
when installing the appliance.
Expansion and retraction phenomena can occur during
heating and cooling episodes; these are not to be regarded as
defects.
It is recommended to burn only dry and hard wood
(hornbeam, ash, beech) of 35cm chopped into ¼. Maximum
refuelling height: 200mm or 4kg (approximately 4 logs of
35cm lenght)
The ignition of the appliance must be carried out using the
reverse ignition method described in this manual. This
enables a gradual rise in temperature of the appliance and
the ducts and an easier start of the chimney effect. In
addition to this, this principle is more ecological than a
traditional start-up because it reduces pollution due to
combustion gases (in traditional ignition, these gases escape
from the large logs in a hearth that is still cold which does not
enable to burn them).
The refuelling interval with nominal heat output is
approximately 45 min. Appliance that operates intermittently.
It is forbidden to use your appliance as an incinerator.
The use of liquid fuels as well as fuels not recommended and
not adapted to the appliance is not permitted.
The combustion and ash pit compartment must be kept
closed to prevent backdraft of smoke except during ignition,
loading or removal of residues.
Some parts of the appliance, especially the external surfaces,
are hot during operation and stay hot after the fire has been
extinguished. You should pay attention to these parts and
handle the appliance with gloves provided for this purpose.
It is strictly necessary to respect the safety distances, not to
place or store anything in the direct radiation area of the
appliance. Significant fire hazard.
Making unauthorized modifications to the appliance will be
dangerous and will immediately exclude the appliance from
the guarantee.
This appliance must not be installed on a smoke duct or an
air supply serving another appliance.
It is important that any air inlet grille be clear and
unobstructed. A fault in the supply of combustion air would
cause degraded operation of the appliance.
First heating
The first fire must be mild, moderate and with not much
wood. The subsequent fires will be of increasing intensity.
The finish paint of the appliance is a specific paint that is
highly resistant to temperature that hardens during the first
heating. It is very important not to touch the appliance during
these first temperature increases so as not to damage the
paint. The first fire must be mild, moderate and with not
much wood.
During the first heating, smoke and a smell of paint from the
appliance may be released, this is completely normal.
Ventilate the room to make them disappear.
Maintenance
It is strongly discouraged to touch, scrub or clean the
appliance and extensions when they are hot.
We recommend cleaning with a soft, damp sponge or a soft
cloth. Do not use metal gloss or abrasives.
In case of deep scratches, it will be necessary to sand with
fine grain sandpaper and touch up with a high temperature
paint spray supplied by JC BORDELET.
The glass of the hearth requires regular cleaning with specific
products designed for this purpose. The specific product
should be applied with a soft cloth and not directly on the
glass. The use of wet wood with a degree greater than 20 %
causes excessive tarring of the window. Once again, we
recommend burning only very dry wood.
The ash pit must be emptied regularly to avoid overflow and
clogging of the de-ashing grate. A fine ash bed of 2 to 3 cm
on the floor of the chimney is perfectly compatible with its
operation.
Do not empty the ash until the embers are completely cold
(wait for 24 hours after the fire goes out, if necessary).
In order to ensure the correct operation of the installation,
regular cleaning of the appliance, the connection duct and
the smoke duct is necessary. This operation must be
performed by a qualified professional twice a year, including
once during the period of use on the flue and at least once a
year on the appliance.
Only spare parts supplied by JC BORDELET must be used.
Regular maintenance of your appliance is necessary by a
competent technician. We recommend you have this
maintenance done during chimney-sweeping of your ducts.
Chimney fire
In the event of a chimney fire, evacuate the occupants from
the house.
Call your local fire department.
Turn off the electrical installation of the house from your
electrical cabinet. Reduce the air supply in the room by
closing the windows and obstructing the air inlet from the
outside if you have one. Then remove the logs and ash from
the chimney using a shovel, bucket, wheelbarrow or other
metal container.
Leave the house.
Do not do anything that endangers you or your loved ones.
Guarantee
Your JC BORDELET appliance is covered by a 5-year warranty
for the heating unit and 1-year warranty for grilles and
deflectors. Wear parts such as door gaskets and window
gaskets are not included in this guarantee.
In order for the guarantee to apply, it is necessary to strictly
observe the assembly and operating instructions. We
recommend that you store them carefully.
Any changes made by the user or installer to the appliance
will void the guarantee.
Guarantee benefits will only be granted after registering your
appliance on the website: https://garantie.seguin.fr/

In the case of a wall appliance, the back wall must be made of non-combustible material
*
The back wall must be made of a non-combustible material and provided with insulation over the entire surface within the
construction right
-of-way. This insulation must have a reaction to fire classification M0, A2s1d0 or A1 and a thermal resistance
greater than 0.7m².K / W (measured at 50
° C). The insulation must not be able to degrade at temperatures below 400 ° C (for
example, calcium silicate, mineral rock wool, etc.)
In the event that the back wall is made of combustible material, it is necessary either:
-remove the combustible material and install insulation as described above.
-or put a partition in non
-combustible material at least 2cm from the wall in combustible material and ventilate through two
openings (bottom and top). An insulation must then be put on the partition created in the same way as seen previously.
