Installation Instructions for
M-MCPv3-SM
SURFACE MOUNTING FI X TURES
FOR ETXv3 ENCLOSED SPEAKER SYSTEMS

Determine the mounting location of the ETXv3
enclosure. Using the holes in the fixture as a guide , mark
the three hole locations . and carefully drill two 5/ 16"
mounting holes and one 1/ 2'' speaker cable hole .

Apply Loctite· red thread - locking compound (included)
to the two 5/ 16 - 18 x 1-1/4" machine s crew s ( included) ,
add 5/ 16 " lo ck washers (included) , and secure the
fixture to the mounting surface using apair of5/l6" flat
washers, 5/ 16 " lo ck washers , and 5/ 16 - 18 hex nuts ( not
included) , as illustrated .
Route speaker cable through the 1/2" hole, and pass it
through the opening in the fixture.

Have a helper support the enclosW'e dW'ing this step.
Use the supplied butt connectors to connect the red (+)
and bla c k( -) speaker c able exiting the ETXv3 enclosure
to the speaker cable exiting the hole in the mounting
surface . The green and white wires will not be used in
this appli c ation .

Slide the excess speaker cable and the butt connectors
through the hole in the mounting s urfa ce as you rai se the
enclosure toward the fixture .
Apply Lo c tite · red thread -l oc king co mp o und (incl ud ed)
to the two 5/16 • 18 •1-1/4" machine screws ( included) ,
thr ea d them into the fixture while firmly pu shing up on
the enclos ur e to ensure no gap, and fully tighten .
Continue to raise the enclos ure , guiding the tab s into the
openings in the fixture until flush .
Remov e adhesive backing and install the JL Audio l ogo
badge (Sport Grille Model s Only).

If a different speaker angle is desired, remove the speaker
mounting screws and washers.
For best adhesion, it is recommended to dean the inside
ofthe aluminum cap with acetone (not included), prior
to attaching it to the speaker enclosure .
Apply acircular bead of silicone adhesive (included) to
the inside ofthe aluminum logo cap, about 1/2- inch (13
mm) from the outer edge.

Rotate the speaker to the desired angle. Rernstall the
speaker and speaker mounting screws and washers.
Hand -tighten the screws in a criss-cross pattern.
Align the aluminum logo cap to the desired angle of
rotation, and press it onto the back of the enclosure .
Apply masking tape (not included) to hold the cap in
place until the silicone cures (at least 24 hours) .

installation steps are the same for all ETXv3 Enclosed Speaker Systems and
all M-MCPv3- Surface-Mount Fixtures listed on front cover.
