WATER SPLASH RESISTANT FEATURES
Theunit includesthefollowingspecialwater splashresistantfeatures :
Headphones / DC Jack Cover : Protects the jack when headphones /external DC supply are not inuse.
Rubber Buttons -Protects easy touch controls for all weather situations.
CD Door Lock Knob - Locks the CD door. Slide the CD DOOR LOCK KNOB to LOCK position to lock
the CD DOOR.
CAUTION :The unit is water splash resistant,but not waterproof. Submersion or excessiveamountsof
water maydamagethe unit. The unit isnot water resistantwhentheCDdoorisopen.
HANGING THE UNIT
Tousethesupplied wall mount bracketandnylonropeto attachto the rear side
oftheunit.

POWER SOURCE
BATTERY POWER OPERATION
1. Open the BATTERYDOOR by rotating the BATTERYDOOR OPEN KNOB in the direction of the
arrowshownonthe unit.
2. Install4 x "C" size(UM2) batteriescarefully asindicated in battery compartment.
3. Close the BATTERYDOOR and rotate the BATTERYDOOR OPENKNOB in the reverse direction
tomakesure the BATTERYDOOR is fully locked.
Note :
* Forbatteryoperation theACpoweradaptor mustbedisconnected from theDCjack.
* Whenthebatteriesare low,erraticinformationmay appearon theDISPLAY. Inordertoresetthe
display,removethe old batteriesandinstallnewbatteries after waiting5minutes.
* Usebatteriesofcorrectsizeandtypeonly.
* Maintaincorrectpolarity when installing batteries.
* Donotmix different typesofbatteries,orold and new batteries.
* Oldbatteriescan leak and causecorrosionsoneverleaverun down batteries inyourunit.
* Removebatterieswhentheunitwillnot be used for a long period of time.
* Followthe batterymanufacturer'sinstructions.
AC POWER ADAPTOR OPERATION (NOT INCLUDED)
1. Pulloutthe DC Jack Cover.
2. Useonlya suitableAC power adaptor.-DC6V 600mA,center positive.
3. Notethepolarity(center "+") and input voltage indicated on unit.
4. Make sure to use a correct adaptor that matchesthe size of the DC jack.
5. Connectthe AC adaptor plug to theDC jack ofthe unit and plugthe adaptor into an AC outlet.
Note:
* Always disconnect theAC adaptor plug from theDC jack when usingbatteries to powerthe unit.
* RemovetheACadaptorfromtheoutletwhentheunitwillnotbeusedfora long period of time.
LISTENING WITH THE HEADPHONES
Pullout the HeadphonesJackCover.Connect stereoheadphones(notincluded) intothePHONESJACK.
Itwill automatically cut offthesoundoutput from thebuilt-inspeakers.
CAUTION:Avoidexcessivevolumelevelsandlisteningtosound for a long period of time when using
headphones,asthismaydamageyourhearing.
LISTENING WITH THE BUILT IN SPEAKERS
Ifyoudo not plugheadphonesintotheunit, then the unitwillusethebuilt-in speakers for soundoutput.
VOLUME CONTROL
Rotatethe VOLUME KNOB tochangethevolume output level.
PLAYING COMPACT DISC
Slide the CD DOOR LOCK KNOB to the open position and open the CD DOOR. Place a CD into the
compactdisccompartment and close the CD DOOR. Remember alwaysslide the CD DOOR LOCK
KNOBtothelockpositionbeforeusingtheunit.
Set the FUNCTION SWITCH to CD position.

PLAY / PAUSE BUTTON
Press once to start playing the CD.
TheDISPLAYwillshowtheplaying trackno. Pressonceagainto stop playing temporarilyandthe track no.
willbe flash. Press once again to resumeplayingandthetrack no. will stop flashing.
STOP BUTTON
Press onceto stop playing the CD. Thenthe total no. oftrack ofthe CDwill be shown intheDISPLAY.
NEXT SKIP / SEARCH FORWARD BUTTON
Whenplaying a CD, press once toskip to next track.Press and holdto search fora desired positionat high
speedforward.Releasethebuttonto resumenormal play.
BACK SKIP / SEARCH BACKWARD BUTTON
Pressoncetoskipbacktothe beginning of the current playing track. Press repeatedly to go to previous
tracks.Press and hold to search foradesired position athigh speed in reverse.Release the button to
resumenormalplay.
MODE BUTTON
- Press once for single track repeat playing and this symbol " " will appear in theDISPLAY.
- Press twice for all tracks repeat playing and this symbol " " will appear in the DISPLAY.
- Press three times for random playing and "RAND." will appear in the DISPLAY.
Thenumberofsongswillbeplayedinarandomsequenceuntilallthesongs are played once and
thenit will stop playing.
Toreturn to the normalplay, pressthe MODE BUTTONuntil all theabove indicators disappear.
Toturn offthe CD, press the STOPbutton twice.
CD PROGRAM PLAYBACK
Programmedplaybackenables trackson a disc to be played in the desiredorder.Up to24 trackscan be
programmed.
1. Press once the PROGRAM BUTTON. " PROG." will flash in theDISPLAY.
2. Press the "BACK SKIP / SEARCH BACKWARD" and / or "NEXT SKIP / SEARCH FORWARD"
BUTTONtoselectthedesired track number.
3. Pressonce the PROGRAM BUTTONagain tomemorize thetrack.
4. Repeatsteps2 and 3 until all desired tracks are programmed.
5. Press the PLAY / PAUSE BUTTON to start playing. " PROG. " will appear in theDISPLAY.
6. Pressthe STOPBUTTONto stop programmedplayback.
7. PressthePROGRAM BUTTONandthen PLAY/ PAUSE BUTTONSto resumeprogrammed
playback.
8. PressthePROGRAMthenSTOPbutton toclear the programmedmemory, or open theCDDOOR
orpowerofftheunittocleartheprogrammedmemory.
NOTE : Programming can onlybe made when CDplaying is in stop mode.
RADIOOPERATION
1. Set the FUNCTION SWITCH to RADIO position. Set the desired radio band with the AM/FM BAND
SWITCH.
2. Tune in a desired station by turning the TUNING KNOB.
3. Adjustthe VOLUME KNOB to your desiredlistening level.
4. To turn off the radio, set the FUNCTIONSWITCH to the CD position.
DBBS
When theDBBS ON/OFF BUTTONis set to the ON position, the dynamic low frequency ranges are
boosted.

MAINTENANCE
CLEANING THE CABINET
Wipewitha soft cloth. If the cabinetisvery dirty,dampentheclothwitha weaksolutionofneutraldetergent
andwaterandthenwipeclean.
CLEANING THE LENS
Adirtylens will cause soundskippingandmaycause the unit tomalfunction.Openthedoor and cleanthe
lensasfollows:
(A) Dust or dry particles
Usingacameralensbrush/blower, blowon the lens a few times, then wipeitlightlywiththe brush to remove
dust.Then blowonthelens oncemore.
(B) Finger prints
Ifthelensdoes not get clean using brush/blower, use acotton swab starting in themiddle and working to
theoutsideedge.
CLEANING THE DISC
Whenadiscbecomes dirty, clean it with a clean cloth.Wipethediscfromthemiddlemovingoutward.
NOTE:Do not usesolvents such asbenzine,thinner,commercially availablecleaners of anti-staticspray
intendedforanalogdiscs.
