A 6 Operating the unit
All recommendations for the applications of the unit, whether oral, written or in the form of practical instructions, are based on our
own experience and tests and can, therefore, onl be considered as guidelines.
1. Prepare the flask – see A 5
2. Close the pressure valve b turning the black knob at the front of the housing to “ZU”
3. Operate the pump handle to build up the pressure – do not go be ond maximum!
Green area in manometer
4. Pause occasionall and, if necessar , continue pumping – observe maximum pressure!
5. When the screws on the flask clamp are tight and the pressure remains constant, it can be released b opening the pressure valve.
6. Wind the spindle up and remove the flask.
• While the acr lic is being distributed under pressure, the indicator will fall.
• Therefore, a complete pressing can onl be achieved b pumping several times, with appropriate pauses. When the flask is completel
closed, the pressure remains constant.
• A built-in return spring automaticall retracts the pressure piston to its zero position.
• The piston-stroke is approx. 12 mm.
• When this height is reached, an automatic piston-height limitation opens, and pressure can no longer be produced.
The oil level must be constantl checked when the pressure piston is retracted. Fill with oil if necessar . To do this, remove the
ventilation screw (oil fill duct) located on the housing behind the left pillar. No damage will occur if too much oil is put in, as the
surplus will flow out of the duct. Onl use h draulic oil 0.489.2007!
A 7 Troubleshooting
Problem Possible cause Possible remedy
Pressure does not build up, or Oil level was below minimum Ventilate the press as
onl limited pressure is reached. and during filling, air got into described below.
the s stem
Despite closed flask, pressure Pressure valve contaminated Vigorous pumping, after
falls to zero, or pump plunger replacing with correct oil
rises under pressure.
Ventilation instructions
1. Tilt the press to the right, and then pump.
2. No success? - then remove the pump plunger as follows, and fill with oil to the upper edge of the guide sleeve.
- Loosen the threaded pin in the U-piece.
- Pull out the pump handle.
- Pull the pump plunger up out of the guide sleeve.
- Fill with EWL h draulic oil 0.489.2007.
- Re-assembl follows in reverse order, whereb two points must be observed:
a) Do not cant the pump plunger
b) Take care not to damage the quad ring.
