A) Configure drive Master/Slave jumper settings.
NOTE: This Quick Install Guide is for
experienced users only!
For less experienced users, please refer to the
installation sections of your User’s Guide.

Channel Devices Connected Jumper Configuration
Primary Main hard disk connected
(always set to MASTER) Slave
Secondary No devices connected Master
Secondary A single device connected as the MASTER Slave
Primary No IDE hard disk drive present (HDD is SCSI,
Fibre Channel, etc.) Master
Tertiary (if available)* No devices connected Master
*NOTE: Some add-in boards like sound cards have a single EIDE channel available. If this is your only
option, please consult your add-in board documentation regarding its use.
