1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
2. Turn the steering wheel as far as possible to the left.
3. Using a straight screwdriver pry out the center portion of the two plastic retainers that secure the
rear portion of passenger’s side front fender well. Once the center portion is pried out remove
the outer portion. Fig. 1
4. Using a Phillips screwdriver unscrew the centers of the other four plastic retainers securing the
rear half of the fender well and then pull out the outer portion. Remove the fender well. Fig. 2

5. Remove the fuse box cover under the hood and remove the 10mm nut from the main power lug.
6. Connect the power harness to the lug and retighten the 10mm nut. (Do not install supplied fuse yet)

7. Route the power harness down to the small opening near the fire wall that leads into the fender well
area. Fig. 4
8. Using a razor knife make a small incision in the rubber grommet. Fig. 5
9. Pass the power harness into the cabin and secure with the provided wire ties. Fig. 6
10. From inside the car. Install the provided two pin connecter on the end of the power harness.
11. Remove the sill plate along the bottom of the passenger’s side door opening. Fig. 7
12. Remove the passenger’s side kick panel by pulling toward the center of the car and then straight back
to release the fasteners. Fig. 8

13. Remove the lower rear seat cushion by pushing the front edge back and then lifting up.
14. Release and fold down the rear seat backs.
15. Remove the three plastic retainers that secure the quarter panel cover. One retainer is above the floor
pan and the other two are located in the pass through area between the cabin and the trunk. Fig. 9
16. Pull the rear quarter panel cover and remove from the car. Fig. 10
17. If the car does not have the optional Kicker 4.1 amp (part # KA-4.1-AMP) installed, signal for the
subwoofer will come from the right front door speaker. Connect the supplied input adaptor (Part #
RH09PIGTAIL6) to the subwoofer overlay harness two pin connector. To connect to the right front
door speaker wires, first locate the wires behind the glove compartment leading to the door. Peal away
a section of the electrical tape to expose the wires.
For 2010 models, find white with orange stripe and white with purple stripe wires that are twisted together. Install
one of the supplied t-taps onto each wire. Connect the green wire of the input adaptor to the white with orange stripe
wire and the brown wire of the input adaptor to the white with purple stripe wire. Fig. 11 and 12
For 2005-2009 Shaker 500 or Shaker 1000 models, find light green with orange stripe and light green with purple
stripe wires that are twisted together. Install one of the supplied t-taps onto each wire. Connect the green wire of the
input adaptor to the light green with orange stripe wire and the brown wire of the input adaptor to the light green
with purple stripe wire.
For 2005-2009 non Shaker models, find green with orange stripe and white green with green stripe wires that are
twisted together. Install one of the supplied t-taps onto each wire. Connect the green wire of the input adaptor to the
green with orange stripe wire and the brown wire of the input adaptor to the white with green stripe wire.

18. Ground the harness to the 10mm bolt located just below and next to the glove compartment. Fig. 13
19. Run the overlay harness along the bottom of the door and secure with wire ties.
20. Pass the harness through the round hole in the metal. Fig. 14
21. Make a small “X” shaped cut in the trunk carpet to allow the harness to pass through. Fig. 15
22. Fold back the carpeted trunk liner on the passenger side of the vehicle.
23. Pull the factory wire harness loose from the metal stud where the subwoofer will mount. Fig. 16
24. Remove the 13mm bolt near the passenger’s side rear tail light. Fig 18.
25. Connect the subwoofer harness to the subwoofer and line the hole in the bottom bracket up with the
factory stud in the bottom of the trunk.
26. Slowly rotate the subwoofer into place. Line up the top bracket with the hole near the tail light and
reinstall and tighten the 13mm bolt. Fig. 17 & Fig. 18

27. Push the subwoofer toward the outside of the car as far as possible and install the supplied 10mm nut
on the factory stud and tighten. Fig. 19
28. Fold about six inches of the trunk liner underneath itself and then tuck the fold under the edge of the
subwoofer. Fig. 20
29. Install the supplied fuse in the fuse holder under the hood and replace all previously removed parts in
reverse order.
30. Reconnect negative battery cable.
