!! SAFETY FIRST !!
FAILURE TO HEED THESE INSTRU TIONS AND WARNINGS AN
RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.
The Kinetic digitizor M-DAB 0001 receiver is designed for reception of Band III Digital
Audio Broadcasts (DAB, DAB+ and DMB-A) in conjunction with 12 volt negative ground
FM-RDS car tuners. It is unsuitable for any other purpose. Use for other than the
designed application may result in damage or injury.
Installation of digitizor is simple if you follow the step-by-step instructions but if you
are in doubt about any aspect of the installation please consult your retailer or arrange
professional installation. Warranty does not cover damage caused by incorrect
installation or use.
Do not install digitizor in a manner that would interfere with the driver’s vision, with the
safe operation of the vehicle controls or with the vehicle safety functions e.g. braking
system, seatbelts and airbags.
Do not install the equipment where it would be exposed to moisture excessive humidity,
extreme heat or where there is no ventilation, e.g. under carpet. Do not block vents or
radiator panels; doing so may cause heat build up and result in fire.
Switch off all power before connecting or disconnecting any cables.
Obey hand / power tool and other safety instructions to the letter. Before drilling any
holes, check and double check to avoid damage to hidden vehicle components (cables,
air bags, battery, etc.). Ensure cable holes are grommeted.
Ensure that the installation is secure, with no loose parts.
Use the correct ampere rating when replacing fuses. Failure to do so may result in fire,
electric shock or damage that is not covered by warranty.
There is a risk of explosion or equipment damage if the remote control's battery is
replaced incorrectly.
Do not disassemble or alter the equipment. Doing so will void the warranty and may
result in fire or electric shock.
Keep small objects such as batteries out of the reach of children and pets. Swallowing
them may result in serious injury. If swallowed, consult a physician immediately.
When driving, do not operate any function that could distract you from safe control of
your vehicle. Any function that requires your attention should only be performed
before you commence your journey or after coming to a complete stop in a safe
location.

INTRODU TION
If you follow the step-by-step instructions, installation and use of digitizor is simple.
To skip the blurb please go directly to page 4.
DIGITIZOR'S SUPERIOR FEATURES AND BENEFITS
The Kinetic® digitizorTM M-DAB 0001 is an advanced in-car audio device that enables
you to receive DAB radio in almost any vehicle whilst retaining the vehicle's factory
appearance.
digitizor DAB is operated using a radio remote commander. All messages relating to
the system’s operations, e.g. station name, are displayed on the display of your FM-
RDS in-car audio system.
digitizor's sophisticated design incorporates a World leading high-sensitivity DAB chip
and unique, patented AF (Automatic Frequency hange) circuitry that overcomes
the need to switch FM frequency manually when there is a conflict with an FM radio
station. This feature is particularly useful in areas where there are many FM stations.
Unlike many DAB tuners, digitizor has a Pan-European specification and is capable of
receiving all DAB, DAB+ and DMB-A transmissions in Band III (except in S. Korea).
There is no need to switch between DAB, DAB+ and DMB-A; digitizor receives all
such stations automatically.
DAB, DAB+ and DMB-A
Originally there was only one 'DAB' but, somewhat confusingly, ' DAB' has come to
mean original DAB, DAB+ and DMB-A (sometimes called DMB-R). The original DAB
is widely used but some countries use or plan to use DAB+ or DMB-A. For more
information please visit www.www.worlddab.org or http://www.wohnort.org/DAB

THE REMOTE ONTROL
INSTALLING THE REMOTE ONTROL BATTERY
Hold the remote control with the back facing you and with the battery compartment to
your left. Release the small catch and simultaneously slide the battery holder out.
Fit the R2025 3 volt lithium battery (!! ensure the '+' signs on the battery, the battery
holder and the remote control match !!) to the battery holder and slide both battery and
holder into the remote control's battery slot. Ensure that the catch locks into place.
onfirm that the battery is installed and working correctly: hold any button and check
that the red LED on the top edge of the remote control illuminates.
THE REMOTE ONTROL
There is no need to point or aim digitizor's remote control towards a sensor and the
remote will work in bright sunlight, because the remote signals are sent by radio, not by
infra-red.
THE REMOTE ONTROL FUN TIONS
All you need to know to get going is explained in the set-up instructions so if you wish
you can skip the following detailed explanations of the remote's button functions for now

INSTALLATION
!! digitizor requires an aerial designed for the reception of DAB Band III signals
(available separately). The benefits of digitizor's high-sensitivity DAB chip will be lost
if you fit an inferior DAB aerial. For more information please refer to page 25
'ESSENTIAL INFORMATION ABOUT DAB AR AERIALS' !!
DAB aerial installation and FM-RDS car radio operation / removal vary widely so when
necessary please refer to your DAB aerial's / car radio's / car's instruction manual.
To get your digitizor up and running straight away, first decide which type of installation
you require. (It is recommended that you use (B) below as a quick test before
permanent installation.)
A) WIRED ONNE TION SET-UP
hoose this set-up if you want a full stealth (hidden) installation with wired connection.
Provides the easiest use, the most dependable connection, the highest sound quality and
near zero chance of interference from FM radio stations. Please go to page 9.
B) WIRELESS ONNE TION SET-UP #1
hoose this set-up if you have a quick-fit (e.g. Kinetic MagnetwiG or STI ) DAB aerial,
want to move digitizor often from car to car and don't mind a visible cable or two.
Please go to page 12.
) WIRELESS ONNE TION SET-UP #2
hoose this set-up if you want a fully installed stealth installation with wireless
connection. (Unless you cannot use (A) above because it's difficult or impossible to
connect to your existing radio's FM/AM aerial connectors, there is little point in choosing
this option.) Please go to page 14.
