PHYSICAL KEYS
• LocatedonR.H.sideofconsoleandreferredtoasF1,F2,F3,F4,F5,F6.
• KeysarereferencedindescendingorderwithF1atthetopandF6atthebottom.
ON/OFF
• Powerstheunitonandoff.
ESC
• UsedastheCANCEL(escape)key.
ENTER
• Conrmsoracceptsthehighlightedselection.
ROTARY ENCODER/KNOB
• Turnknobclockwisetoscrolldownorcounterclockwisetoscrollup
• Pressknobtoenterselection.
AV (AUDIO/VIDEO) Key
• Setalarmvolume.
• Adjustthecontrast.
• AdjustbacklightingoftheLCDdisplay.
ACK (ACKNOWLEDGE) Key
• Usedtosilence(acknowledge)thewarningalarmwhenvariouserrorconditionsoccur.
NOTE: Alarms can be viewed by pressing the STATUS key.
ARROW KEYS
• UParrowkeyisusedtomoveup.
•DOWNarrowkeyisusedtomovedown.
• LEFTarrowkeyisusedtomovetotheleft.

REPROGRAMMING/CONNECTINGSENSORS
NOTE:All sensors (including the seed tubes w/sensors,radar,magnetic distance and shaft rotation
sensors) must be unplugged from the harness and/or console and the monitor must be OFF.
TurnmonitorON.Monitorautomaticallydisplays“NoSensorsDetected”screen.Pressthe
knoborENTERkeytoselectOK.
“KINZEPlanterConguration”screenwillappear,verifyallinformationiscorrect.Turnthe
knoborpressthearrowskeystoadvancetoOK.PresstheknoborENTERkey.
AttachtheplanterharnessintotheKPMIII.DoNOTconnectanyofthesensorstothe
planterharness,with[AutoDetect]selectedpresstheINSTALLkey(F1).
Plugintherstsensor(row1),workingfromlefttorightandreartofront(ifapplicable).
Whenasensorisconnectedtotheplanterharnesswaitforthemonitortoacknowledge
withtwobeeps.
Continueconnectingseedsensorsalongwithshaftrotationsensorsorspeedsensors.
ProgresswillreectontheLCDscreen.
WhenallofthesensorsareinstalledpresstheF1key.

REPLACINGSEEDSENSOR(S)
PressF6keyuntilthe“ModeSelection”screenappears.
Select“SetupMode’’byturningtheknoborpresstheUPorDOWNarrowkeys.
PresstheknoborENTERkeytodisplaythehighlighteditem.
Select“SensorSetup’’byturningtheknoborpresstheUPorDOWNarrowkeys.
PresstheknoborENTERkeytodisplaythehighlighteditem.
HighlightthefaultysensorandpresstheREMOVEkeyandunplugsensor.Plugin
newsensorandpressINSTALLkey.
Repeataboveprocedureforeachfaultysensorbeingreplaced.
NOTE: Highlighting a sensor and pressing VIEW gives additional information when
troubleshooting a problem. If a faulty sensor has been ignored it may be highlighted
in the list of sensors, press REVIVE. The monitor will try to communicate with the
sensor. If successful “OK’’ will appear next to the sensor.

CHANGING VOLUME/CONTRAST/BACKLIGHTING

PresstheAVkey(onceforvolume,twiceforcontrastorthreetimesforbacklighing).
•TurnknoborusetheLEFTorRIGHTarrowkeystoadjust.
•PresstheknoborENTERkeytosaveandexit.
SPEED SENSOR CALIBRATION/PROGRAMMING
•PressF6keyuntil“ModeSelection’’screenappearsandselect“SetupMode’’andpressthe
knoborENTERkey.
•PressF6keytoadvanceto“SpeedSensorCalibration’’.
•PulltractortostartingpointandthenpressknoborENTERkey.Travel330ft.(100m)and
stoptractorevenwithmeasuredmark.
•Select“TractorCalibrationDone’’andthenpresstheknoborENTERkey.
PROGRAMMING UNITS
•PressF6keyuntil“ModeSelection’’screenappearsandthenselect“SetupMode’’byturning
theknoborusingtheUPorDOWNarrowkeys.PresstheknoborENTERkeytodisplaythe
highlighteditem.
•Select“GeneralSettings’’byturningtheknoborpresstheUPorDOWNarrowkeys.Press
theknobortheENTERkeytodisplaythehighlighteditem.
•Advanceto“RowSpacing’’eldbyturningtheknoborusingtheUPorDOWNarrowkeys.
Adropdownnumberpadwillappear.Turntheknoborusethearrowkeystohighlightthe
correctvaluethenpresstheknobtoselectthenumber,fornumberscontainingmorethan
onedigitselectonedigitatatime.Whenthedesiredquantityisdisplayed,presstheENTER
key.
•Advanceto“UnitsofMeasure”eldbyturningtheknoborusingtheUPorDOWNarrow
keys.
•PresstheknoborENTERkey,adropdownmenuwillappear.Selecteither“English’’or
“Metric’’fromthedropdownmenubyturningtheknoborusingtheUPorDOWNarrowkeys.
PresstheknoborENTERkeytomakeselection.
•Advanceto“AreaCounters”eldbyturningtheknoborusingtheUPorDOWNarrowkeys.
Select“Conrmeachenable/disable”presstheknoborENTERkey.
•SelecteitherOKorCancelasappropriate.
NOTE: The narrowest row spacing the planter is equipped to plant should be entered for
“Row Spacing”. Example: 12 Row 30" with Interplant row spacing would be set to 15".
CLEARING AREA COUNTERS
•PressF6keyuntil“AreaManagement’’screenappears.
•TurnknoborpresstheUPorDOWNarrowkeystohighlightthedesired“AreaCounter’’
•PresstheCLEARkey.
•ConrmthattheareacounteristobeclearedbyselectingeitherOKorCancel.
