GB
Congratulations for purchasing the child car seat kiwy SF01 Q-fix.

children in auto vehicles is incorrectly installed, negating the protective
efficacy.
For this reason it is necessary to follow the instructions here below.
If you are unsure or have any questions, please contact your place of
purchase or directly the manufacturer:

Attention!
This child seat has been classified as Universal and Semi-universal
Categories.
This allows you to choose the installation method according to the
presence or absence of Isofix anchoring points on the seats of the
vehicle.
UNIVERSAL Category: It means that the car seat is approved for
installation using the vehicle seat belt alone.
SEMI-UNIVERSAL Category: It means that the car seat is approved for
installation with the seat belt, in combination with the connectors for
the Isofix anchor points of the vehicle.

2
WARNING!
UNIVERSAL Category
SF01 Q-FIX child seat is a child restraint, approved to ECE Regulation
R44/04 for general use in vehicles.
A correct fit is likely if the vehicle manufacturer has declared in the
vehicle handbook that the vehicle is capable of accepting a “Universal”
child restraint for this age group, 0+ and 1.
This child restraint has been declared “Universal” under more stringent
conditions than those applied to earlier designs, which do not carry this
notice.
This product can be installed only on vehicle's seats equipped with 3-
point safety belt, with retractor, approved according to ECE R16
Regulation or any other equivalent Standard.
If in doubt, please contact your retailer or the manufacturer.
SEMI-UNIVERSAL Category
The child car seat SF01 is a semi-universal child restraint approved
according to Regulation ECE R44/04 for use on the seats of the vehicles
listed in the list of compatible vehicles, attached to this instruction
manual.
It 'possible that other vehicles which are not on the list are also suitable
for the installation of this child car seat SF01.
The installation, in this case, must be carried out with the vehicle seat
safety belt and the connectors for the Isofix anchor points available on
the vehicle seats (see the list of compatible vehicles).
IMPORTANT: The use of the connectors for the Isofix attachments
DOES NOT EXCLUDE the use of the vehicle seat belt, which remains the
main and indispensable means for securing the child seat safely.

General Advises
The S 01 child car seat is approved, in accordance with the ECE R44 / 04
standard, as a child restraint device for mass groups 0 + and 1 (that
means from birth up to a weight of 18 kg) in two different installation
methods, depending on the child's weight.
- Children weighing less than 9 kg must be secured in the S 01 seat
turned in the opposite direction to the direction of travel of the
vehicle. It is advisable to keep the seat in the opposite direction until
the baby reaches a weight of 13 kg.
- For children weighing more than 13 kg, the seat SF01 must be
installed exclusively in the direction of travel of the vehicle.

4
cars.
It must not be considered a house or table seat, nor a toy.
For a correct installation, follow the instructions given in this booklet,
with particular attention to the orientation of the child seat in the
vehicle based on the weight of the child.
Before installing the SF01 car seat in the vehicle, read these instructions
carefully, in case of an accident an improper installation can be
dangerous for the baby.
NOTE: If your vehicle is included in the list of compatible vehicles and is
equipped with Isofix anchor points, please install the child car seat using
the seat belt and Isofix connectors.
- Keep this booklet in a safe place, so you should keep it in the vehicle
for future reference at any time when necessary.
- After installing the child seat, check that no part of its harness belts or
seat belt of the vehicle remained stuck between the moving parts of the
child seat, the vehicle seat or in a door.
- Check each time you use the child seat, that it is securely locked in
place with the seat belt tight, not twisted and properly secured.
- Before starting a trip with the baby on board of the child seat, check
that the harness belts are properly adjusted and the buckle is properly
fastened.
- Exposure to the sun, even of short duration, can heat a lot the interior
of the car. To avoid overheating of the child seat, with the risk of causing
burns to the child, we recommend covering the seat with a fabric sheet,
a towel or something similar.
- Regularly check the child seat for signs of wear or malfunctions of any
kind , with particular attention to the harness belts, its buckle and the
fabric covers
- In case of malfunction or evident wear, discontinue using the seat and

contact your dealer or directly the after-sales service of the
manufacturer (Tel +39 0522 272 098) capably staffed to provide
information and assistance.
- Before traveling, make sure that any item or luggage inside the vehicle
is securely attached. In the event of an accident, loose objects can affect
the occupants and cause them major injuries.
- For safety reasons, when you are traveling with other passengers, it is
prudent to have the heaviest in the front seats, making sure that every
occupant of the vehicle also uses its own seat belt.
- The car seat must always be fixed on the vehicle seat even when not
carrying children, to prevent its displacement, in the event of an
accident, and possible injuries the passengers.
- Installation on the rear middle seat is only possible if the latter is
equipped with a three-point safety belt with retractor; consult, in any
case, the instruction manual of the vehicle.
- During long journeys, it is necessary to make stops to allow the child to
move about, freeing him/her from the belts and from any sense of
constriction.
- Before leaving, check the correct fitting of the child seat and of the
child inside.
Use the hugging cushion until the child reaches a weight of 5 kg; the
hugging cushion must not be used for children weighing more than
5kg.
IMPORTANT!
The seatbelt must always be used for the installation of this child
car seat, even when using the connectors for the Isofix anchor
points.
Using only Isofix connectors could be estremely dangerous for your
child, in case of an accident.
What not to do

6
- Never use this child seat unless you have properly positioned it inside
the vehicle, using the seat belt and the connectors for the Isofix
anchoring points, if the latter are equipped in your vehicle, as instructed
in this user manual.
- Do not use the SF01 seat placed in a different direction from that
prescribed, based on the weight of the child.
- Do not install the car seat in the opposite direction to the direction of
travel on seats fitted with frontal airbags; the impact between this
device and the child seat, in the event of an accident, could be
extremely dangerous for your child.
- IMPORTANT: Vehicles of recent manufacture allow you to disable the
front airbag on the passenger side, to allow the installation of this type
of child seats. Do not proceed with installation until you have carefully
read the instruction manual of your vehicle.
- Do not place any kind of padding in the area of contact between the
child seat and the vehicle seat, in order not to jeopardize the stability
and proper positioning (of the child seat) with respect to the safety seat
belt, which fixes it to the vehicle seat.
- Do not make any modifications of any kind to the child seat. Any
modifications not performed or authorized by the manufacturer would
void the validity of the approval.
- For the same reason, spare parts or accessories that are not supplied
directly by the manufacturer of the car seat itself cannot be used.
- Never leave any child unattended in the vehicle, even for short periods
of time.
- The buckle of the seat is a primary component for safety; discourage
your child from playing with it.
- Do not install or remove the seat from the car with the child inside.
- The fabric covers are an integral part of the product and must always
be present on the child seat; replacing them with others provided only
by the manufacturer when too worn out.

7
GB
- Ensure that the seat doesn't come in contact with acids, solvents or any
other type of corrosive substance.
- Any child seat must always be replaced after an accident, even if
modest.
- An accident can cause structural damages, although not visible, which
can compromise the protective efficacy of the child seat in the event of
another accident.
For this reason, it is strongly advised not to use or purchase second-
hand child seats.
The SF01 Q-fix child seat has several settings to better suit the needs of
your child.
1) The angle of the seat is adjustable to allow a better rest to the child
during long trips, always in conditions of maximum safety.
2)
3) The hugger cushion (to be used up to 5 kg of weight) is made of soft,
breathable materials and designed to offer a better containment for
younger children and is designed to provide them with an adequate
position, always with the highest levels of comfort and safety.
4) The position of the shoulder belts is crucial to ensure the safety of the
child. For this reason the seat backrest carries belt slots at different
height to be used according to the required height, based on the child's
size.
The choice of the slots for the shoulder belts' routing must be made
according to the following criteria:
Settings
The retractable spacer, under the base of the child seat, must be
adjusted in two different positions, according to the orientation of the
seat with respect to the direction of travel.

8
- With the seat facing Opposite to the direction of travel :
choose the slots at the shoulders of the child’s height or slightly below
(Fig. 23).
- With the seat facing in the direction of travel:
choose the slots at the shoulders of the child’s height or slightly above
(Fig. 24).
To change the position of the shoulder straps, proceed as follows:
Loosen the belts as much as possible by pressing the harness release
button (part “L”), located in the front middle of the child seat, and
pulling out the steel plate, connecting the shoulder straps and the
adjustment strap, located behind the seat (Fig. 25).
Place the seatback in the fully reclined position, using the lever tilt
adjustment (part “N”).
Unhook the shoulder straps from the connecting plate (Fig. 25).
Pull both belts from the slots where they are and pass them through the
most suitable ones in relation to the child's height (Fig. 26).
The belts securing the shoulder straps' pads to the backrest must also
be moved accordingly, in the same slots of the harness belts.
Having done that, carefully check that the belts have not been twisted
and tension is adequately adjusted through the harness adjustment
strap (part “C”).
In case of a difficult sliding, check that the seat belt routing is correct.

Always use the seat belt of the vehicle to fix the SF01 child seat,
both in the travel direction as well as in the opposite direction of travel.
The connectors for the Isofix anchoring points are additional fitting
hardware that still require seat belt in the vehicle.
For children from birth up to 9 kg, the SF01 Q-Fix child seat MUST be
oriented in the rearwards facing direction and on a compatible vehicle
seat, as indicated in the vehicle 'user manual'.
The SF01 Q-Fix seat allows keeping the child facing backwards until
reaching a weight of 13 kg.
In this condition, the SF01 Q-fix child seat shell MUST be set to the
maximum reclined position and the rise retractable spacer MUST be
rotated into the position shown in Figure 11.
Instructions for the installation in the opposite direction of
travel (from birth to 13 kg)

10
IMPORTANT: The retractable spacer is used to compensate the normal
inclination of the vehicle seat and its rotation is possible only when the
child seat is fully reclined.
reclined
In this condition, the angle between the child's back and the travel
direction will be next to the 45°, which is, according to the authoritative
paediatric researches, the best position to prevent the risk of suffocation
to which the baby is subject in its first few weeks of life, in case its head
leans forward during sleep.
Do not use the child seat on seats of vehicles equipped with frontal
airbags, unless after having possibly excluded the airbag, following the
instructions in the user manual of your vehicle.
- Place the child seat on the appropriate vehicle seat, opposite to the
travel direction.
- Make sure the vehicle seat is secured in the rearmost position and its
seatback is locked in the vertical position .
-Make sure the child seat is adjusted to its most reclined position
(Fig. 11).
- If your car in included in the list of compatible vehicles and is equipped
with Isofix anchoring points, rotate the connector retractable Isofix seat
in the front, below the base of the seat (Figure 12).
- The SF01 Q-fix child seat comes with plastic guides to facilitate the
insertion of the connectors in their proper locations, on the Isofix anchor
points of your vehicle seats; fix the plastic guides onto the anchor points
(Fig. 10).
- Make sure the indicators on the sides of the Isofix arms are in red
colour, showing they are ready for hooking. (Fig. 13).
- Insert both Isofix connectors of the child seat in the plastic guides.
Snap both connectors onto the Isofix anchor points (Fig. 14).
N.B. A locking mechanism prevents the rotation of the spacer if the
seat is not adjusted in the maximum position.
Please avoid forcing the locking mechanism, to prevent damaging the
seat.

11
GB
Important: Ensure the connectors are properly attached to the anchor
points. You should clearly hear two distinct "clicks".
- Make sure the safety indicators, on the sides of the Isofix arms, are
both green, meaning that the two connectors are properly fastened.
- Pull the vehicle safety belt and place it between the backrest and the
seat base frame.
- Pass the lap section of the safety belt in the child seat base positions
highlighted by blue lines (as indicated by the arrow in Fig.15a).
- Lock the diagonal belt section ONLY in the belt guide nearest to the
retractor (i.e. the one opposite to the buckle) in the blue marked frame
(Fig.15b).
- Fasten the seat belt to the corresponding buckle (Fig. 16).
- Make sure the safety belt is not twisted.
- Tighten completely the diagonal section of the safety belt, by pulling it
vigorously, and recuperate the slack inside the retractor.
- Ensure the child seat is securely fastened in the car seat.
If the weight of the baby is less than 5 kg, it is necessary to use the
hugging cushion (part “D”), placing it in the seat as shown in Fig. 7.
NOTE: When using the hugging cushion, shoulder straps must pass
through the lowest slots.
The hugging cushion must be removed when the child exceeds the 5 kg
of weight.
The SF01 harness' belts are equipped with a quick release buckle (part
“J”) allowing to quickly free the child, in case of an emergency.
To open the buckle, simply press down the red button (Fig. 17).
Loosen the harness belts by pressing the push button located at the
middle front of the seat (component “L”) and pulling forward the
shoulder belts from above or below the shoulder strap pads (Fig. 18).
CAUTION: the shoulder straps and the crotch belt pads have a fixed

12
length that cannot be adjusted.
Place the child in the child seat and fasten the harness belts combining
the two tabs (Fig. 19) and inserting them into the buckle until you hear
a 'click', which confirms they're correctly fastened (Fig. 20).
Place the harness straps as indicated in Fig. 21, on the shoulders (a) and
the pelvis (b), and the buckle (c) between the child's legs.
Pulling the frontal adjustment belt (part “C”), tighten the straps making
them adherent to the child's body.
NOTE: Too much tension can be fastidious for the child with the risk
that the latter attempts to get rid of it.
For this reason, the adjustment of the belts must simply eliminate any
excessive slack.
The SF01 seat can accommodate children forward facing as early as
they weigh 9 kg.
For children weighing more than 13 kg, the child seat MUST be turned
in the travel direction and on a compatible seat of the vehicle, as
indicated in its user manual.
In this condition, the retractable spacer MUST be rotated in the position
shown in Fig. 27.
NOTE: The rotation of the retractable spacer is possible only when
the seat is adjusted to its maximum reclined position.
IMPORTANT: When installing the seat in the travel direction, please do
NOT use the retractable spacer rotated forward. An excessive lying
position may be dangerous to the child, in the event of an accident.
- Place the child restraint on the appropriate seat of the vehicle in the
travel direction.
- Please check the vehicle's seat headrest is not in the way for a proper

positioning of the child seat; if that is the case, remove the headrest
(Fig.31).
- Make sure the vehicle seat is secured in the rearmost position and that
its backrest is locked in the vertical position.
- Make sure the spacer is adjusted as shown in Fig. 27.
- If your vehicle is included in the list of compatible vehicles and is
equipped with Isofix anchor points, rotate the retractable Isofix system,
located in the rear and below the seat (Figure 28). Make sure the
indicators on the sides of the Isofix arms are in red colour, showing they
are ready for hooking.
- Insert both Isofix connectors of the child seat in the plastic guides.
Snap both connectors onto the Isofix anchor points (Fig. 30).
Important: Ensure the connectors are properly attached to the anchor
points. You should clearly hear two distinct "clicks" and the safety
indicators, on the sides of the Isofix arms, are both green, meaning that
the two connectors are properly fastened.
- Pull the reclining lever to tilt the child seat completely, in order to
operate more easily (Fig. 32)
- Pull the vehicle seat belt and place it between the backrest and the
child seat base.
- Pass the lap-belt under the two red indicated clamps, placed on both
sides of the base, and follow the steps illustrated in Figure 33.
Advice: The presence of any button or stitching on the car seat belt
may prevent the use of one of the lock-off devices.
In this case, move the belt to the top of its lid (Fig. 37), and lock it only
on the opposite side.
The use of a single lock-off device does not affect in any way the
stability and safety of the seat.
- Use only the red marked diagonal belt guide nearest to the retractor,
i.e. on the opposite side of the fastening buckle (Fig. 34).

14
- Fasten the seat belt to the relevant buckle (Fig. 35).
- Make sure the belt is not twisted.
- Tighten completely the diagonal section of the belt by pulling it with
force and making it recover the slack inside the retractor.
- Close the two clamps, placed on both sides of the base.
- Ensure that the seat is securely fastened in the car seat.
- Release the harness buckle by pressing down on the red button
(Fig. 17).
Loosen the harness belts by pressing the push button located at the
middle front of the seat (Part “L”) and pulling forward the shoulder belts
from above or below the shoulder strap pads (Fig.18).
CAUTION: the shoulder straps and the crotch belt pads have a fixed
length that cannot be adjusted.
Place the child between the harness belts and fasten the harness belts
combining the two tabs (Fig. 19) and inserting them into the buckle
until you hear a 'click', which confirms they're correctly fastened (Fig. 20).
Place the harness straps as indicated in Fig. 22, on the shoulders (a) and
the pelvis (b), and the buckle (c) between the child's legs.
Pulling the frontal adjustment belt (Part “C”), tighten the straps making
them adherent to the child's body.
NOTE: Too much tension can be fastidious for the child with the risk that
the latter attempts to get rid of it.
For this reason, the adjustment of the belts must simply eliminate any
excessive slack.
By pulling on the adjusting lever (Part “N”), you can change the
inclination angle of the child seat (Fig. 32).
Removing the child seat
The SF01 Q-fix seat can be removed by pressing on the push bottons
located on the sides of the Isofix arms, to disconnect them from the

15
GB
anchor points (Fig. 38).
Once the connectors unhooked, remove the vehicle seat belt from the
child seat, applying the reverse order of the operations done for the
installation (Fig. 39)
- Check that the straps are correctly positioned on the shoulder and they
adhere to the child's body.
- Ensure the vehicle safety belt is correctly routed onto the child seat.
- Check that the vehicle seat belt is not stuck in any way or twisted.
- Make sure that the safety belt is properly fastened and the child seat is
securely fixed into the car seat.
- Check that the harness belts are properly adjusted.
- Verify that the harness buckle is properly fastened.
- Make sure that the shoulder straps are always in the right position on
the child's body.
- Check regularly that the main elements are not damaged.
- Check all components are properly working.
- Ensure that the child seat is not blocked in the door or in the seat rails,
avoiding breakages, damages, wear out, etc…
- Even when the seat was left mounted in the vehicle, check that the
seat belt of the vehicle is positioned correctly and securely fastened
before placing your child in the seat.
Important: No matter how the child seat has been well designed, if
installed incorrectly, it may not be able to protect your child in case of
an accident.
NOTE: Any car seat can leave marks on the vehicle seats.
This product has been conceived with the aim to minimize this effect as
much as possible, in order to avoid damaging the seats on which it is
installed.
