depend on the physical product or statement made by the distributor.)
• The freezer’s low temperature may keep food fresh for a long time
and it is mainly used to store frozen food and make ice.
• The freezer is suitable for storing meat, sh, shrimp, pastries and
other types of food not to be consumed within a short term. Please
do not store uids in bottled or closed containers items such as
bottled beers, beverages, etc.
• Please note that food shall be consumed within the shelf time.
• The product’s freezing speed is related to the amount of food
stored and the ambient temperature. If too much food at normal
temperature is put in at the same time, the thermostat shall be
adjusted to the maximum gear 24 hours in advance or ice must
be prepared ahead for cold storage; also, large food items shall

materials including bottom cushions and foam pads
and tapes inside the freezer, tear off the protective
lm on the door and the freezer’s body.
Keep the appliance away from heat and avoid direct
sunlight. Do not place the freezer in humid or watery
places to prevent rust or reduction of insulating effect.
The freezer should be placed in a well-ventilated
indoor place; the ground shall be at, and sturdy.
The top clearance of the freezer shall be greater than

supply.
(Above images are for reference only. The actual conguration will
depend on the physical product or statement made by the distributor.)
Start using the freezer
• The freezer shall stay up for half an hour
before connecting it to a power source when
it is used for the rst time.
• The freezer shall run for 2 to 3 hours before
loading fresh or frozen food; on the other
hand, the freezer shall run for more than 4
hours in summer in advance considering that
the ambient temperature is higher.
Energy saving tips
• The appliance should be located in the coolest area of the room,
away from heat producing appliances or heating ducts, and away
from direct sunlight. Please allow hot food to cool down to room
temperature before placing it inside the appliance. Please note that
overloading the appliance forces the compressor to run for a longer
period of time. Also, food that freezes too slowly may lose quality,
or spoil.
• Please make sure you wrap food properly, and wipe containers dry
before placing them inside the appliance, as this cuts down frost
from building up inside the freezer.
• The appliance’s storage bin should not be lined with aluminium foil,
wax paper, or paper towelling since liners interfere with cold air
circulation, making the appliance less efcient.
• Organise and label food to reduce door openings and extended
searches. Remove as many items as needed at once, and close the
door as soon as possible.

2.3. Maintenance
Cleaning
• Any dust behind the freezer and on the ground shall be regularly
cleaned to improve the cooling effect and save energy.
• Please check the door gasket regularly to make sure there are
no debris. Clean the door gasket with a soft cloth dampened with
soapy water or diluted detergent.
• The interior of the freezer should be cleaned regularly to avoid any
odours.
• Please turn the power off before cleaning, and remove all food,
baskets, containers, etc.
• Use a soft cloth or sponge to clean inside the freezer, with two
tablespoons of baking soda and a quart of warm water. Then rinse
with water and wipe clean. After cleaning, open the door and let it
dry naturally before turning the power on.
• For areas that are difcult to clean in the freezer (such as gaps or
corners), it is recommended to wipe them regularly with a soft rag,
soft brush, etc. and, when necessary, combined with some auxiliary
tools (such as thin sticks) to ensure contaminants or bacteria do not
accumulate in these areas.
• Do not use soap, detergent, scrub powder, spray cleaner, etc., as
these may cause odours inside the freezer or contaminate food.
• Clean the baskets with a soft cloth dampened with soapy water or
diluted detergent. Then dry it with a soft cloth or let it dry naturally.
• Wipe the outer surface of the freezer with a soft cloth dampened
with soapy water, detergent, etc., and then wipe it dry.
• Do not use hard brushes, clean steel balls, wire brushes, abrasives
(such as toothpastes), organic solvents (such as alcohol, acetone,
banana oil, etc.), boiling water, acid or alkaline items, which may
damage the freezer’s surface and interior. Please be aware that
boiling water and organic solvents such as benzene may deform or
damage plastic parts.
• Do not rinse directly with water or other liquids during cleaning to
avoid short circuits or affect the appliance’s electrical insulation
after immersion.
Defrost
• Your freezer shall be manually defrosted.
- Unplug the freezer and open the door, remove food and shelving
baskets before defrosting; then open the outow hole and drainage
hole (and place the water container at the drainage hole); indoor
frost will naturally melt; wipe the defrost water with a dry, soft cloth.
When the frost softens, an ice scraper might be used to accelerate
the de-icing process.
• Please remove the food and put it in a cool place when defrosting
before removing any accessories.
Other mechanical devices or other means other than
those recommended by the manufacturer shall not
be used to accelerate defrosting. Do not damage the
refrigerant circuit.
Stop using the freezer
• Food can be preserved for a couple of hours - even in summer - in
case of a power failure; it is recommended to reduce the frequency
of opening the door and not to put fresh food inside the freezer.
• Please unplug the freezer if left unused for a long time for cleaning.
Keep the door open to avoid any bad odours.
• Do not turn the freezer upside down or make it vibrate, as the
carrying angle cannot be greater than 45°. Do not hold the appliance
by the door and hinge when moving it.
Other mechanical devices or other means other than
those recommended by the manufacturer shall not
be used to accelerate defrosting. Do not damage the
refrigerant circuit.
2.4. Troubleshooting
The following simple issues can be handled by the user. Please call
the Customer Support Service if these issues are not settled.
Inoperation Check if the freezer is plugged and connected
to a power source;
Check if there is low voltage;
Check if the temperature control knob
is in the work area;
Check if there is a power failure or tripping circuit.
Odour Odorous foods should be closely wrapped;
Check if the food is rotten;
Check if the interior shall be cleaned.
Long-term
operation of
the compressor
It is normal that the freezer operates for a longer
period of time in summer when the ambient
temperature is higher;
Do not put too much food in the freezer at once;
Do not put food inside until they are cooled;
This might be due to frequent opening of the
freezer’s door;
Check if there is a thick frost layer (defrost
is needed).

22 23
KCF5215
KCF5216
chest freezer EN
Indication light
does not light up
Check if the freezer is connected to a power
source;
Check if the light is damaged.
The freezer’s
door cannot be
properly closed
Check if the freezer’s door is stuck by food
packages;
Check if there is too much food;
Check if the freezer is unbalanced.
Loud noises Check if the oor is at and if the surface
where the freezer is placed is stable;
Check if the freezer’s accessories are properly
placed.
Transient
difculty while
opening the
door
After refrigeration, there will be a pressure
difference between the freezer’s inside and
outside that will result in a transient difculty
while opening the door.
This is a normal physical phenomenon.
Heat and
condensation
building up
inside the
freezer’s
enclosure
The freezer’s enclosure may emit heat during
operation, especially in summer; this is caused
by the condenser’s radiation, and it is a normal
phenomenon.
Condensation: a condensation phenomenon
will be detected on the freezer’s exterior surface
and door seals when the ambient humidity
is high; this is a normal phenomenon,
and the condensation can be wiped away
with a dry towel.
Airow sound
Buzz
Clatter
Refrigerants circulating in the refrigerant lines
will produce sounds and grunts, which is normal
and does not affect the cooling effect.
Buzz will be generated by the running
compressor, especially when starting
up or shutting down.
