GETTING TO KNOW YOUR ELECTRIC ROASTER OVEN
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
To reduce risk of personal injury or property damage when using electrical
appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including
the following:
1. Read all instructions thoroughly before using the Kuraidori Electric Roaster Oven.
2. For indoor use only.
3. To protect against the risk of electrical shock, do not immerse cord, plug or
the control panel in water or other liquid.
4. Place the Roaster Oven on a flat heat resistant surface and use in a well
ventilated area. Keep at least 4 - 6 " (10 - 15 cm) of space on all sides of the
product to allow adequate air circulation.
5. Do not touch the hot surfaces of unit.
6. When lifting or removing lid, avoid the vent holes on the lid and tilt the lid
away to divert the escaping steam.
7. When removing food from the water bath always use tongs.
8. This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade wider than the other). To
reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized
outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the
plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified technician. Do not attempt to
modify the plug in any way.
9. Excersise caution if using an extension cord or power bar.
10. Always unplug the unit when not in use and before cleaning. To avoid electric
shock, short circuit or fire always unplug by pulling on the plug and not the
cord. Do not let the plug and cord make contact with hot surfaces.
11. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the
appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. In the event of
malfunction or damage, it must be repaired by a qualified technician. Any
electrical servicing should be performed by an authorized service
representative.
12. Do not use in damaged power sockets or with damaged cables.
13. Do not let the cord hang over the edge of the table or counter without proper
supervision.
14. To disconnect, turn any control to “off” then remove plug from wall outlet.
15. To prevent accident and injury, close supervision is necessary when any
appliance is used near children or those who require assisted living. Do
not leave any electrical appliance unattended.
16. Allow the Kuraidori Electric Roaster Oven to cool before cleaning and placing
in storage.
17.
The use of accessories or attachments not recommended by the manufacturer may
cause hazards.
18.
Use extreme caution when moving an appliance containing hot oil or other hot liquids.
19.
Use extreme caution when removing the Roasting Rack or the Removable Cooking
Pan or when disposing of food, hot oils or other liquids.
20.
Take proper precautions to prevent the risk of burns, fire or other personal or property
damage as this appliance generates heat and escaping steam during use.
21.
Do not store any materials not recommended by the manufacturer inside of the
product when not in use.
22.
Do not clean the product with metal scouring pads or harsh abrasive or chemicals
cleaning pads

POLARIZED PLUG
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk
of electric shock, this plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit
fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do
not modify the plug in any way.
Notes on the cord
a) A short power-supply cord (or detached power-supply cord) is provided to
reduce risks resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a long cord.
b) Longer detachable power-supply cords or extension cords are available and may
be used if care is exercised in their use.
c) If a long detachable power-supply cords or extension cord is used.
1) The marked electrical rating of the detachable power-supply cord or extension
cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance.
2) If the appliance if of the grounded type, the extension cord should be a
grounding type 3-wire cord.
3) The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop
or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over.

BEFORE FIRST USE
Your Roaster Oven should be conditioned before using for the first time.
Follow the directions below:
1. Place the Kuraidori Electric Roaster Oven on a flat, heat resistant surface in a well
ventilated area or in a covered outside area.
2. Remove the Cover and lift out the Removable Cooking Pan.
3. Turn the Temperature Control Knob to the OFF position, then plug the unit into a
120V outlet.
4. Set the Oven temperature to 425°- 450°F / 218 - 230°C and heat the empty oven for
30 minutes until any odour or smoke disappears.
NOTE: This odour or smoke is normal when conditioning the oven for the first time
and will not reoccur once the oven is properly conditioned.
5. After use, turn the Temperature Control Knob to OFF, unplug unit from the outlet and
allow the Roaster Oven to cool.
6. Wash the Cover, Rack and Removable Cooking Pan in warm soapy water. Do not
place in the dishwasher.
7. Wipe the interior and exterior of the Roaster Oven base with a damp cloth.
DO NOT IMMERSE THE ROASTER OVEN BASE IN WATER OR ANY
OTHER LIQUID.
IMPORTANT:
The Roaster Oven Pan should be conditioned only before the first use.
During normal use the Roaster Oven is preheat only until it reaches the preset
temperature.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
• Do not use harsh or abrasive chemicals to clean the appliance.
• Never place anything except the Removable Cooking Pan into the Roaster Oven base /
heating well.
• Never place food or liquid into the Roaster Oven base, always place food / liquid into the
Removable Cooking Pan.
• The power Indicator light will illuminate, indicating that the appliance is heating. The
light will shut off when the set temperature has been reached and will cycle on and off
as the appliance maintains the set temperature.
• CAUTION: When removing the Cover, keep it away from you as steam will be released
when the cover is opened.
• Check food for doneness but do not remove Cover continuously as this will result in
heat loss and increased cooking time.
HOW TO USE
How To Use the Rack
The Folding Rack can be used when roasting meat or poultry or for steaming or baking.
The small legs raise food so that there is air space underneath when roasting or baking
and raise food above the water for steaming. Unfold the side arms to the outside. Place
food on the Rack. Pick up the Rack by the arms and place in the Cooking Pan. The arms
of the Rack will be held up by resting against the sides of the Cooking Pan. When food
has finished cooking simply lift the Rack by the arms to remove the food.
IMPORTANT:
Always use oven mitts when removing the Rack.
How to Use the Cover Rest
Place the edge of the Cover between the handle and the Cover Rest Supports to keep the
Cover and condensation inside the Cover and off the counter or table.
How to Use the Roaster Oven
1. Place the Roaster Oven on a flat, heat resistant surface and use in a well ventilated area
with 4 - 6" (10 - 15cm) of space on all sides of the product.
2. Turn the Temperature Control Knob to the OFF position. Plug into a 120V outlet.
3. Preheat the Roaster Oven, with the Cover on, at the desired temperature until the
indicator light goes out.
4. Follow the directions to either roast, stew, bake, steam or slow cook.
5. Use wood or plastic utensils to handle the food in the Cooking Pan.
How to Stew
1. Place the Removable Cooking Pan in the Base / Heating Well. Cover. Turn the
Temperature Control Knob to the desired temperature and preheat the Roaster Oven
until the indicator light goes out.
2. Cut food into uniform size pieces and place in the Removable Cooking Pan. Add liquids
according to the recipe. Cover.
3. Add liquids during cooking, if needed.
NOTE: If cooking frozen meat add 15 to 20 minutes to the recipe time.
How to Roast
1. Place the Removable Cooking Pan in the Base / Heating Well. Cover. Turn the
Temperature Control Knob to the desired temperature and preheat the Roaster Oven until
the indicator light goes out.
2. Place food on the Rack and lift into the Removable Cooking Pan. Cover.
3. Turn the Temperature Control Knob to the desired temperature.
4. See the time chart below for the correct cooking time.
NOTE:
To sear the meat before roasting, place the Removable Cooking Pan in the Base /
Heating Well and preheat the Roaster Oven to 425°F (220°C). Add 1 tablespoon (15 ml) of
cooking oil to the Removable Cooking Pan, add meat. Sear meat on all sides. Follow steps
above to roast.

cuts of meat may take longer to roast.
