Pre-packaged frozen food commercially should be retained in accordance with the
recommendations of the manufacturer.
•
Place the frozen food in the freezer as soon as possible after purchase. Carefully follow the
instructions on the package for the storage time.

DEFROSTING
This appliance is equipped with a “Frost Free”type cooling system, which means it never has to be
manually defrosted. Defrosting is done automatically by means of a defrost heating element and a defrost
timer that will cycle on and off as the appliance operates. The defrost water is routed into a defrost pan
located beside the compressor, where it then evaporates.
4. CARE AND
MAINTENANCE
CLEANING YOUR UNIT
Upon installation of your new appliance, it is recommended that it be cleaned thoroughly.
1. Remove all contents and unplug the appliance
2. Use a clean sponge or soft and a mild detergent in warm water.
3. Do not use abrasive or harsh cleaners. Hand wash, rinse and dry all surfaces thoroughly. Do not
use cleaning waxes, concentrated detergents, bleaches or cleaners containing petroleum on plastics
and rubber parts. Never use paper towels, window sprays, scouring cleansers or flammable fluids on
plastic parts as these can scratch or damage material. Clean with a cloth soaked in this solution and
then dry with a soft cloth.
4. It is recommended that the unit be cleaned each time it is defrosted to help keep the unit odor
free and running efficiently.
VACATION
TIME

2.Disconnect power cord from electrical outlet.
3.Clean the appliance thoroughly.
4.Leave door open to avoid possible formations of condensation, mold or odors
POWER FAILURE
If a power failure occurs, frozen foods will stay frozen for at least 24 hours if the door is kept closed. This
will help food to stay fresh or frozen.
If service is to be interrupted longer than 24 hours remove all frozen food and find an alternate solution
MOVING YOUR
UNIT
•
Remove all the food.
•
Securely tape down all loose items inside.
•
Remove the rollers to prevent damage.
•
Tape the doors shut.
•
Be sure the unit stays in the upright positionduring transportation.
11

ENERGY SAVING
TIPS
The unit should be located in the coolest area of the room, away from heat producing appliances or
heating ducts, and out of the direct sunlight.
Let hot foods cool to room temperature before placing in the unit. Overloading forces the
compressor to run longer. Foods that need to freeze may lose quality, or spoil.
Be sure to wrap foods properly, and wipe containers dry before placing them in the unit. This cuts down
on frost build-up inside.
Storage bins or shelves should not be lined with aluminum foil, wax paper, or paper towels. Liners
interfere with cold air circulation, making the unit less efficient.
Organize and label food to reduce door openings and extended searches. Remove as many items as
needed at one time, and close the door as soon as possible.
