Care and safe use guidelines
SAFETY INFORMATION
WARNINGS:
• To prevent damage or surface cracking, do not drop this appliance.
• Do not overload with fuel (untreated wood or logs); if the fi re is too intense this could damage the appliance. Fuel
should never protrude from the mouth of the appliance.
• This appliance will become very hot in use, do not move it during operation.
• Do not use this appliance in a confi ned and/or habitable space e.g. houses, tents, caravans, motor homes or
boats. Danger of carbon monoxide poisoning fatality.
• Keep children and pets away.
• Do not use this appliance as a furnace.
FIRE HAZARD:
• This appliance must be installed on a secure level base before use.
• Do not use this appliance on wooden decking or any other fl ammable surfaces such as dry grass, wood chips,
leaves or decorative bark, etc.
• Do not use this appliance on artifi cial grass or other surfaces that are not heat resistant.
• Hot embers may be emitted whilst in use.
• Ensure that this appliance is positioned at least 2 meters away from any fl ammable materials and has a minimum
clearance of 2 metres from overhead and adjacent surroundings.
CARE & USE
• When lifting or moving this appliance, never drag it; seek assistance as necessary.
• As this appliance has components made from steel and/or cast iron, the surface will age and develop surface
rust over time once it is exposed to natural weather elements. This is to be expected and does not constitute an
appliance fault.
• Never fuel the fi re to an extent that fl ames reach the fl ue of this appliance.
• This appliance must never be used with the lid fi tted (if supplied).
• For safety reasons, it is recommended to inspect this appliance before each use for signs of fatigue and damage.
Be sure to replace any appliance that has reached the end of its natural life.
• If this appliance is left outside temporarily a suitable cover must be used, once it has cooled completely.
• For long-term storage this appliance must be stored in an environment that is free from frost, rain and excessive
moisture.
• The cooking grill should be cleaned with a solution of washing up liquid in warm water. It is not suitable for
cleaning in a dishwasher.
• Cordierite stones and blocks must never be washed. Instead, scrape off any remaining residue after cooking,
whilst the stone is still warm (but not hot).
SOLID FUEL TYPES & LEVELS
• For cooking food, it is essential to use lumpwood charcoal.
• Do not burn coal in this appliance.
• Do not overload with fuel: it is recommended to fi ll only to half capacity of the fi re bowl or fuel burning area.
• The recommended quantity of fuel must never be exceeded by greater than 50%.
LIGHTING, REFUELLING & EXTINGUISHING
• WARNING! Do not use spirit or petrol for lighting or re-lighting! Use only fi relighters complying to EN 1860-3.
• Prepare a stack of loosely crumpled newspaper or eco fi relighters (or compatible, tested to EN 1860-3) into the
fuel-burning area.
• Pile fi nely split, dry, fi rewood on top of the paper.
• Add half of the fuel leaving access to light the paper.
• Light the paper or fi relighters using long safety matches or a long-reach lighter. Once the fi re is established add
the remaining fuel.
• Always use heat resistant gloves, tested to EN 407, when adding fuel, or when using any safety tool (where
supplied).
• Do not drop or throw fuel into the appliance as this can cause cracks/fractures to the appliance.
• To extinguish the fi re after use: stop adding fuel and allow the fi re to die; alternatively douse it with sand. Do not
use water as this may damage the appliance, and will also create excess ash particles.
FOOD COOKING
• CAUTION: eating raw or under-cooked meat can cause food poisoning
• It is recommended that this appliance is heated up and the fuel kept red hot for 30 minutes before cooking for the
fi rst time.
• Do not cook before the fuel has a coating of ash
• Always wash your hands before and after handling uncooked meat and before eating.
• Keep raw meat away from cooked meat and other foods.
• Do not use the same utensils to handle cooked and uncooked foods.
• Ensure all meat is cooked thoroughly before eating.

IMPORTANT! - Remove any packaging before use, but retain the safety instructions and store them with this product.
STEP 1 - Place the main body (3) upside down on a surface that will not scratch the unit.
STEP 2 - Attach 4x legs (6) to the main body (3) using 16x screws (A). Please note, each leg has been labelled to
show correct position on the main body. Please refer to the diagram.
STEP 3 - Attach front panel (5) to front two legs using 4x screws (A).
STEP 4 - Attach 2x side panels (4) to legs (6) using 8x screws (A).
STEP 5 - Attach base shelf (8) to the lower part of the legs (6) using 4x screws (A).
STEP 6 - Now place the unit upright and attach the ue (2) into the main body (3) and secure using 3x bolts (B).
STEP 7 - Attach ue cap (1) to top of the ue (2) using 3x bolts (B).
STEP 8 - Attach lower door with air vent (11) to the main body (3) using 1x hinge bar (12). Secure using 2x securing
pins (C) and 2x split pins (E) (See Diagram.1).
STEP 9 - Attach upper door (10) to the main body (3) using 1x hinge bar (12). Secure using 2x securing pins (C) and
2x split pins (D).
STEP 10 - Place 2x cooking grills (13) on the ledge in the upper oven.
STEP 11 - Place 2x black fuel grates (9) on the ledge in the lower oven.
STEP 12 - Slide the ash drawer (7) into the main body (3).
STEP 13 - When using to cook pizza’s place the pizza stone (14) onto the cooking grills (13).
The product is now ready to use but please ensure you have read these instructions thoroughly prior to use.
• Place the pizza stone into the oven on top of the cooking grills and wait whilst it reaches optimum temperature.
• Allow the oven to reach approximately 350 - 400°F (175 - 200°C).
• Ensure that the damper on the ue is half open and that the bafe plate on the lower door is half open.
• After 30 minutes of preheating slide your pizza onto the pizza stone using a paddle (not supplied).
• The pizza should take anywhere between 5-10 minutes depending on thickness of the base and toppings. Thin
base pizza’s are recommended for this oven.
• Check your pizza occasionally as they can cook quickly.
• Once its cooked to your taste, remove carefully using a paddle and heat resistant gloves (both sold separately).
• If you wish to use as a smoker unit, add wood chips to the fuel and restrict air ow to the unit by closing the
bafe plate on the lower door and the damper on the ue.
• To keep meat moist, add a small amount of water to a small foil tray, separate the coals in the lower fuel
section and place the tray between the fuel prior to lighting.
• Top up liquid as necessary.
• This oven can be used to BBQ various other types of foods such as sh, meats, bread etc.
• Please fuel the oven as described under lighting section.
