FIRST USE
• When unpacking the appliance, take care to remove
and check all packing for parts as well as packets and
additional packing information. Remove the protective
lm applied to the cooking surface.
• Make sure that no parts or accessories are missing or
defective.
• Before using the appliance, clean the cooking surface
thoroughly with soapy water to remove any impurities
from the packaging. Dry thoroughly.
• A new appliance may smoke and/or give off an odour
when used for the rst time. To reduce the chance of
smoking or odour, it is recommended to allow the
appliance to heat for 10 minutes and then cool for
approximately 30 minutes before the rst use.
• You may then proceed with curing the surface which
helps both to protect it and to keep food from sticking.
To cure the cooking surface, wipe down the surface
thoroughly using alcohol vinegar, heat the appliance
and then slide a slice of bacon or ham fat around over
the entire cooking surface. After coating with a layer of
fat in this manner, the surface will gradually turn brown.
The plancha is now cured and ready for use.
START-UP AND OPERATION
• Place the appliance on a at, stable, heat-resistant
surface.
• The plancha may be used either outdoors or indoors
under a ventilation hood.
• Adjust the feet depending on the type of cooking desired.
- If the feet are left retracted, the cooking surface
will be nearly level and sloping very slightly
forward to allow for slow drainage of grease and
cooking juices for traditional plancha cooking.
- Unscrewing the feet on the front causes the plancha
to tip toward the rear to prevent any cooking juices
from draining off, e.g. for cooking mussels marinière.
- Unscrewing the feet on the rear causes more grease
to run off into the grease trough for more diet-friendly
cooking, e.g. for cooking duck breasts.
FIRST USE AND DAILY OPERATION

8
Always adjust the front or rear feet in pairs, i.e.
either both front feet or both rear feet, to avoid
throwing the appliance off-balance.
To protect the screw threads, do not use the
product with the feet unscrewed excessively (i.e.
to more than 3 mm or more than 7 turns).
• Before each use, turn on the plancha and allow it to
heat for 10 minutes on high.
• Brush the cooking surface with oil.
• Caution: do not cut foods directly on the
cooking surface as this could leave deep
scratches on the surface.
• Do not overheat the cooking surface as this
could cause it to turn black and make it
difcult to clean.
• Remember to empty the drip drawer regularly
to prevent it from overowing.
• Bien penser à vider le bac à jus régulièrement
pour éviter qu’il ne déborde.
• Adjust the thermostat to the appropriate temperature
for the type, size and thickness of food you wish to cook
and to suit your cooking preferences.
Here are some recommendations for setting the
thermostat to cook specic foods:
• Red meat: 480°F
• White meat or brochettes: 460°F
• Duck breasts: 460°F for 10 min on the skin side and then
390°F for 5 min on the other side
• Fish (whole): 500°F and then reduce temperature to
430°F
• Fish (lets), squid, prawns, scallops, sh brochettes,
salmon: 430°F
• Vegetables: 430°F
• Fruit: 300°F

EN
9
AFTER USE
• To turn off the appliance, turn the thermostat down to
the lowest setting.
• Allow the appliance to cool and then unplug the cord.
• You may then wrap the cord around the cord winder on
the rear of the appliance for ease of storage.
LONG-TERM STORAGE
• The appliance will not be used for an extended period,
we strongly recommend storing it in a dry place.
Never submerse the appliance in water, spray
with water or place in dishwasher.
COOKING SURFACE:
Before use, the plate of your PlanchaGriddle
“Pro“ has a brushed appearance. With the use of
utensils and acidic foods, the plate will become
scratched and take on a patina. This change in
appearance is normal and does not affect the
functioning of your unit.
• Unplug the appliance and clean while still hot.
• Allow the surface to cool for approximately a minute.
• Pour a glass of water onto the surface and scrape with
the supplied spatula, pushing the residue and liquid into
the grease trough.
Important: never use ice to clean the hot
plancha as this could cause thermal shock and
warp the stainless steel cooking surface.
MAINTENANCE

10
• The permanent brown staining that develops
with cooking is part of the curing process and
is a natural chemical reaction that protects
the surface and prevents foods from sticking.
Important: never attempt to remove the
brown layer to regain the original colour of
the cooking surface as this will cause foods
to stick.
• For deep cleaning, spray the entire stainless steel surface
with white vinegar and clean using a sponge and the
supplied spatula/scraper. This will leave the layer of
grease intact, preventing the need to repeat previous
steps.
• Always wipe the surface off before storing or reuse
GREASE DRIP DRAWER:
• This container is used to collect the cooking juices which
you may then save or discard.
• Empty the grease drip drawer and wipe it out using a
wet sponge and dishwashing liquid. this container is
also diswasher-safe.
APPLIANCE BODY:
• Clean the appliance body using a wet sponge and, if
desired, a little dishwashing liquid.
GREASE TROUGH:
• Wipe out the grease trough using a wet sponge and, if
desired, a little dishwashing liquid.
