Instructions (Assembly & Safety)
This engine stand is used to mount engines or transmissions when they have been removed
from the vehicle. It is designed to provide access to the units for servicing and/or rebuilding.
The stand incorporates a locking, rotating, mounting head so that the operator can rotate
the unit for ease of access. The stand also incorporates wheels and lockable casters to allow
mobility on smooth, flat surfaces.
Assembly Instructions:
Refer to Figure 1 and
table of items included:
1) Attach wheel 14 to rear leg 2with bolt 15, spring washer 17 and nut 16.
2) Attach caster 19 to mast assembly 1with washer 9, spring washer 8and nut 7.
3) Attach mast assembly 1to the rear leg 2with bolts 5& 6, washers 9, spring
washers 8and nuts 7.
4) Remove the caps 29 from the front leg 4, attach casters 18 to the front leg with
washer 9, spring washer 8and nut 7. Replace the caps 29 back into the front leg.
5) Attach crossmember 3to the front leg 4with bolts 5& 6, washers 9, spring
washers 8and nuts 7.
6) Fasten the mast assembly 1to the crossmember 3with bolts 10, washers 13,
spring washers 12 and nuts 11. Lift one side of the mast assembly to align the
hole in the frame to the hole in the crossmember, then insert the pin 20 into
this hole, and insert the spring clip 21 into the hole in the pin.
6) Attach the mounting head 22 to the mounting adaptor 23 with bolt 24, washer
9, spring washer 8and nut 7.
7) Insert mounting head 22 into the hole at the top of the mast assembly. Line up
the hole in the mounting head with the corresponding hole in the
mast assembly, then secure with the head locking pin 25.

Before applying load:
• With the mounting arms loose, bolt them to the rear of the engine or gearbox using the
bell housing mounting bolts (not supplied).
• Ensure that the load is centred and straight on the mounting head, then tighten the
mounting arms to the engine or gearbox.
• Now tighten the mounting arms to the mounting head.
• After making sure all connections are tight, slowly and carefully lower the hoist,
transferring the load to the stand.
To remove a load from the stand:
• Using a separate engine hoist attach the hoist to the load using a sling or similar
strapping device.
• After the hoist and sling are secure on the load, raise the hoist, taking the weight of
the load off the stand.
• The mounting bolts and fasteners and now be removed leaving the engine or gearbox
free of the stand.
