1. Getting Started
A. Design and Installation Considerations
When planning an appliance installation, it’s nec-
essary to determine the following information
before installing:
 Where the appliance is to be installed
 Gas supply piping. See Section 3.
 Framing and Finishing details. See Sections 2
and 3.
B. Tools and Supplies Needed
Before beginning the installation be sure that the
following tools and building supplies are avail-
able:
 Gloves
Safety glasses
Saw
Measuring tape
Phillips screw bit
Screw gun
Buttery bit or drill
AAA battery
Non-corrosive leak check solution

Place the Floating Fire pan on the oor in the center of the pontoon toward the front - away from fuel tank and
motor. Allow enough room to open your front and side pontoon doors. Do not locate the appliance where it can
get excessively wet or submerged in water.

D. Step by Step Lighting Instructions
Step 1. Remove access panel and locate LP tank in
vented area.
Step 2. Aer verifying shuto valve is in the
“OFF” position, turn gas on at tank.
Step 3. Make sure AAA battery is installed in
sparker by unscrewing the rubber sparker
cup. Begin pressing sparker.
Step 4. Make sure electrode is sparking.
Step 5. Turn shut-o valve to “ON” position while
pushing igniter button.
Step 6. Adjust ame

Verify sparker is producing spark prior to turning
gas on.
NOTICE:
Due to the physical properties of glass, it is not
uncommon for the included decorative glass beads to
occasionally crack or split. is is completely normal
and should not be cause for concern.

A. Select Appliance Location
When selecting a location for your appliance it is
important to consider the required clearances to
walls (See Figure 2.1).

C. Framing Enclosure for LP Gas Supply System
If you build an enclosure for an LP gas cylinder,
follow these recommended specications and
local codes:
Ventilation
Enclosures must be ventilated by openings at
the level of the cylinder valve and at oor level.
Eectiveness must be determined with the
cylinder(s) in place.
 One side of the enclosure must be completely
open or,
 For an enclosure having four sides, a top and
a bottom:
- At least two ventilation openings at cylin-
der valve level shall be provided in the side
wall, equally sized, spaced at 180 degrees
(3.14 rad), and unobstructed. Each opening
must have a total free area of not less than
1/2 square inch per pound (3.2 sq. cm/kg)
of stored fuel capacity and not less than a
total free area of 10 square inches (64.5 sq.
cm).
- Ventilation opening(s) must be provided
at oor level and shall have a total free area
of not less than 1/2 square inch per pound
(3.2 sq. cm/lg) of stored fuel capacity and
not less than a total free area of 10 square
inches (64.5 sq. cm). If ventilation openings
at oor level are in a side wall, there must
be at least two openings. e bottom of
the openings must be at oor level and the
upper edge cannot be fore than 5 in. (127
mm) above the oor. e openings must be
equally sized, spaced at 180 degrees (3.14
rad) and unobstructed.
- Every opening must have minimum dimen-
sions to permit the entrance of a 1/8 inch
(3.2 mm) diameter rod.
Accessibility
Cylinder valves must be readily accessible for
hand operation. A door on the enclosure to
gain access to the cylinder valves is acceptable,
provided it is non-locking and can be opened
without the use of tools.
 e design of the enclosure must be such that:
- e LP gas supply cylinder(s) can be con-
nected, disconnected and the connections
inspected and tested outside the cylinder
enclosure.
- ose connections which could be dis-
turbed when installing the cylinder(s) in
the enclosure can be leak tested inside the
enclosure.
- Be certain to mount or set the LP gas cyl-
inder on a at stable surface and retain it to
prevent it from tipping.
Minimum Clearances
ere must be a minimum clearance of 2 in.
(50.8 mm) between the lower surface of the
oor of the LP gas supply cylinder enclosure
and the ground.

3. Gas Information
A. Fuel
Before making gas connections ensure appliance
being installed is compatible with the available
gas type.
B. Gas Pressure
Proper input pressures are required for optimum
appliance performance. Gas line sizing require-
ments need to be made following NFPA54.

household gas appliances are operating.
Install regulator upstream of valve if line pressure is
greater than 1/2 psig.
Pressure requirements for appliance are shown
in table below. Minimum pressures must be met
when other household gas appliances are oper-
ating.

e appliance and its individual shuto valve
must be disconnected from the gas supply piping
system during any pressures in excess of 1/2 psi
(3.5 kPa).
e appliance must be isolated from the gas sup-
ply piping system by closing its individual manu-
al shuto valve during any pressure testing to the
gas supply piping system at test pressures equal
to or less than 1/2 psi (3.5 kPa).
C. Gas Connection
NOTE:
Have the gas supply line installed in accordance
with local building codes, if any. If not, follow
ANSI 223.1. Installation should be done by a
qualied installer approved and/or licensed as
required by the locality. (In the Commonwealth of
Massachusetts installation must be performed by a
licensed plumber or gas tter.)
NOTE:
A listed 3/8 inch T-handle manual shut-o valve
and exible gas connector are connected to the 3/8
inch control valve inlet.
If substituting for these components, please con-
sult local codes for compliance.

Check all ttings and connections.
Do not use open ame.
Aer the gas line installation is complete,
all connections must be tightened and
checked for leaks with a commercially
available, non-corrosive leak check solu-
tion. Be sure to rinse o all leak check
solution following testing.
Fittings and connections may have loos-
ened during shipping and handling.
Incoming gas line should be piped to the 3/8 inch
connection on the manual shuto valve.
A small amount of air will be in the gas supply
lines. When rst lighting appliance it will take a
short time for air to purge from lines. Subsequent
lighting of the unit will not require such purging.
Never allow the ON/OFF valve to remain in the
open position with out pressing and continu-
ing to hold igniter button FIRST.

D. LP Gas Supply
Storage of this appliance indoors is permissi-
ble only if it has been disconnected from its
fuel supply (LP gas cylinder).
e LP gas cylinder supply system must be
arranged for vapor withdrawal.
e LP gas cylinder used must include a
collar to protect the cylinder valve.
When an LP model is not in use, the LP gas
must be turned o at the supply cylinder.
e specic sizeandcapacityofthecylinder(s)
to be used: 20 lb. and 11 lb.
4. Appliance Setup
A. Burner Assembly - ALL LP GAS MODELS
1. Check for damage. Do not use damaged com-
ponents.
2. e hose assembly must be replaced prior to
the appliance being put into operation if there
is evidence of excessive abrasion or wear, or
if the hose is damaged. e replacement hose
assembly specied by the manufacturer.
3. Position the assembly in the desired loca-
tion. is location must be adjacent to the gas
supply line. You must have easy access to the
gas valve control knob aer it is installed and
connected to the gas supply because the ON/
OFF gas valve is used to turn the burner on
and o.
From the Top Side . . .
4. Position the burner pan in the center of the
pontoon oor toward the front--away from
fuel supplies and gas motors.
5. e burner must be replaced prior to the appli-
ance being put into operation if it is evident that
the burner is damaged. e replacement burner
assembly specied by the manufacturer.
6. Measure the area and draw a pattern in the
shape of the burn pan top perimeter. Using a
saw, cut your hole in the oor along the pat-
tern lines. Make sure the pan will rest evenly
on the pontoon cross braces at the front and
rear of the pan. Place the burner pan in the
hole with the front and rear of the burn pan
resting on the pontoon cross braces (be sure
your LP gas inlet tube is facing the side that
allows the best installation of your gas hoses).
Place the oor ange in place over the burn-
er pan. Use the screws provided to fasten the
ange and pan to the oor decking.
7. Using a drill, make a hole in the helm (we rec-
ommend to the right of the steering). Attach
the electronic ignition module to this area.
You will need to drill a 1/2 inch hole in the
oor under the helm to install the wires. Use
grommit provided. Attach one end of the low
voltage wire (provided) to the EI module and
the other end to the igniter on the burner pan
under the pontoon. e other wire will attach
to the EI module at one end and the other end
to the ground on the burn pan.
From the Bottom Side . . .
8. ere are 2 gas lines provided. One hose will
be connected at one end to the gas inlet tube
at the bottom of the burner pan. e other end
of that hose will connect to the shut o valve
(you will need to make a 3/4 inch hole in the
oor under th helm, use grommit provided).
e second gas line will connect at one end to
the other end of the shut o valve. en this
hose will attach to the fuel source (20 lb cylin-
der) with a connector (provided). To prevent
the gas lines from sagging-we recommend se-
curing them to the bottom of the pontoon (be
sure gas lines do not sag; to prevent becoming
caught on a trailer). Clamps are provided.
9. Check all connections for leaks before oper-
ating the appliance.
10. Make sure the tank valve is turned completely
o (Clockwise).
11. Ensure the tank valve has the proper exter-
nal mating threads (tank valve marked “USE
WITH TYPE 1”).
e pressure regulator and hose assembly sup-
plied with LP models must be used. Replace-
ment pressure regulators and hose assemblies
must be those specied in this manual.
e LP gas supply cylinder used with LP
models must be constructed and marked in
accordance with the specications for LP gas
cylinders of the U.S. Department of Trans-
portation (DOT).
Cylinders must be stored outdoors in a well
ventilated area out of reach of children. Dis-
connected cylinders must have threaded
valve plugs tightly installed and must not be
stored in a building, garage or any other en-
closed area.

12. Inspect the hose shipped with the appliance
for any damage. Do not use if there is evi-
dence of damage.
13. Connect the end of the hose onto the ON/
OFF gas valve of the appliance. Make sure it
is secured tightly.
14. Connect the regulator assembly to the tank
valve. Hand tighten only (clockwise). Do not
use a wrench to tighten! Use of a wrench may
damage the quick closing nut and result in a
hazardous condition.
15. When the appliance is not in use--the locking
lid must be installed and locked for safety and
to prevent spilling of the glass decor beads.
NOTE:
A percentage of glass beads may be split in half. is
is normal. Additional beads may split aer use. is
is also normal and adds to the reective ember-bed
appearance.
B. Glass Installation
Spread glass out evenly over burner area, use all
glass supplied for best aect.
Keep glass clear of spark location to avoid acci-
dental blockage.
5. Operating Instructions
LP (Propane)
Before lighting this appliance, ensure both the
LP tank valve and the manual shuto valve are
closed. Open the LP tank valve rst. THEN the
manual shuto valve. is is required due to
built-in safety features of your LP tank.
Before operating the appliance, have a qualied
technician:
Inspect the burner. Remove or clean any de-
bris that may have fallen on the appliance. If
a thorough cleaning is required, remove the
glass material and wipe o burner surface
making sure all burner ports are free of de-
bris. If there is any evidence that the burner is
damaged, replace it with an approved replace-
ment part.
Check the air intake inlet adjustment.
Ensure that there are no gas leaks. Inspect
all gas supply lines. If there is evidence of
excessive abrasion wear, or any damage,
replace those components with a approved
replacement parts.
Ensure that the ow of combustion and venti-
lation air is not obstructed.

additional information consult a qualied install-
er, service agency, or the gas supplier.

stay away to avoid burns or clothing ignition.
Young children should be carefully supervised
when they are in the area of the appliance.
Clothing or other ammable materials should not
be hung around the appliance, or placed on or
near the appliance.
Installation and repair should be done by a
qualied service person. e appliance should
be inspected before use and at least annually by a
qualied service person. More frequent cleaning
may be required as necessary. It is imperative that
control compartment, burners and circulation air
passageways of the appliance be kept clean.

B. Lighting the Appliance
FOR YOUR SAFETY, READ BEFORE LIGHTING
A. is appliance must never be lit manually. When
lighting, follow these instructions exactly.
B. Before Lighting, smell all around the appliance
area for gas. Be sure to smell next to the base of
the appliance because some gas is heavier than air
and will settle on the oor.
C. Use only your hand to turn the gas control know
or valve. Never use tools. If the valve will not turn
by hand, don’t try to repair it, call a qualied ser-
vice technician. Force or attempted repair may
result in a re or explosion.
D. Do not use the appliance if any part has been
under water. Immediately call a qualied service
technician to inspect the appliance, and to re-
place any part which has been underwater.
E. e gas pressure regulator provided with this ap-
pliance must be used. is regulator is set for an
outlet pressure of 3.5 inches water column.
WHAT TO DO IF YOU SMELL GAS:
Do not try to light any appliance.
Do not touch any electric switch, do not use
any phone on your boat.
Immediately call your gas supplier from a
neighbors phone. Follow the gas supplier’s in-
structions.
If you cannot reach your gas supplier, call the
re department.
LIGHTING INSTRUCTIONS
TO TURN OFF GAS TO APPLIANCE
1. STOP! Read the safety information above.
2. Find the manual gas control valve.
3. Find automatic spark push button and depress it,
make sure you see the spark at the electrode in
the pan.
4. For an LP appliance turn the valve on the LP tank
counterclockwise all the way then turn on the
ON/OFF valve slowly at the appliance.
For an LP appliance, turn the ON/OFF valve
to the “OFF” position at the appliance, and
then with a Type I or II Connection turn
the valve at the LP cylinder clockwise to the
“OFF” position when the appliance is not in
use.

C. After the Appliance is Lit
Initial Break-in Procedure:
When you light the appliance, you may notice
that it produces heat which may have an odor
or smell. If you feel this odor is excessive it may
require an initial three to four hour continuous
burn on high.

Remove decorative glass and examine burner. Vacuum and wipe out as
needed. Use caution when cleaning these areas.
Inspect for warping and corrosion. Repair as necessary.
Check the hose connecting the LP gas cylinder to ensure it is not damaged.

Verify all gas connections are tight and leak-free.

Leisure Activists, Inc. (L.A.I.), extends the following warranty for L.A.I. products used in the United States of
America or Canada. Dealers and employees of L.A.I. have no authority to make any warranty or authorize any
remedies in addition to or inconsistent with the terms of this warranty. is warranty gives you specic legal
rights. You may also have other rights that vary from state to state.
L.A.I. warrants that this L.A.I. product (the “Product”) will be free from defects in material and workmanship for a
period of one year from its date of purchase. is warranty is subject to the conditions, exclusions and limitations
described below.
is warranty applies only to the original owner of the Product and is non-transferable. L.A.I.’s obligations under
this warranty does not extend to damages resulting from (1) assembly, operation or maintenance of the Product
not in accordance with the Installation/Assembly Instructions, Operating Instructions and the Listing Agency
Identication Label furnished with the Product; (2) installation or use which does not comply with local building
and boating codes and ordinances; (3) shipping, improper handling, improper operation, abuse, misuse, accident
or unworkmanlike repairs; (4) use of fuels other than those specied in the Operating Instructions; (5) Installa-
tion or use of components not supplied with the Product or any other components not expressly authorized and
approved in writing by L.A.I. and/or (6) modication of the Product not expressly authorized and approved in
writhing by L.A.I. Any of the circumstances described in the previous sentence voids this warranty. is warranty
is void if the Product or any component has been removed, repaired, or replaced before L.A.I. has been aorded a
reasonable opportunity to inspect the Product.
is warranty is limited to the replacement or repair of defective components or workmanship and L.A.I. may fully
discharge its obligations under this warranty by repairing or replacing, at its discretion, the defective components.
L.A.I. will provide replacement parts at no charge and will pay reasonable and necessary labor and freight costs
related to replacing or repairing defective components under this warranty. e maximum amount recoverable
under this warranty is limited to the purchase price of the Product and, if L.A.I. is unable to provide replacement
or repair in an expedient and cost-eective manner, L.A.I. may discharge all obligations under this warranty by
refunding the purchase price of the Product.
EXCEPT TO THE EXTENT PROVIDED BY LAW, L.A.I. MAKES NO EXPRESS WARRANTIES OTHER
THAN THE WARRANTY EXPRESSED HEREIN. THE DURATION OF ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY IS
LIMITED TO THE DURATION OF THE WARRANTY SPECIFIED ABOVE. IN NO EVENT SHALL L.A.I.
BE LIABLE FOR ANY INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES CAUSED BY DEFECTS IN THE
PRODUCT. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, or do not allow exclusion
or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so these limitations may not apply to you.
To obtain service under this warranty, you must:
1. Send written notice of the claimed condition to L.A.I., 12262 Dickinson Rd., White Pigeon, MI 49099.
2. Arm that you are the original owner of the Product.
3. Provide L.A.I. reasonable opportunity to investigate the claim, including reasonable opportunity to inspect
the Product prior to any repair or replacement work and before the Product or any component of the
Product has been removed.
4. Obtain L.A.I.’s consent to any warranty work before the work is done.
