DESCRIPTION
TheModel42A00-2SupervisedWirelessReceiverallowsupto64uniquewireless
securitytransmitterstoreportinformationtoanOmniLT,Omni,OmniII,OmniIIe,
OmniPro,OmniProII,Lumina,andLuminaProcontroller.Thewirelesstransmitters
replacewireddoorandwindowsensors,aswellaswiredsmoke,motion,andglassbreak
detectors.Thesetransmittersreportstatusinformationtothe42A00-2Receiverwhich,in
turn,processestheinformationandreportsittotheHAIcontroller.
The42A00-2Receiverfeaturesspatialdiversity,whichminimizeswirelesssignalnullsor
deadspots.Thereceivermaybemountedupto1000feetfromtheHAIcontroller.
COMPATIBLE TRANSMITTERS
TheModel42A00-2SupervisedWirelessReceiveriscompatiblewithall319.5MHz
GESecurity(a.k.a.ITIorInterlogix)andCaddx(crystalorSAW)LearnModeTM63-bit
wirelesstransmitters.Thisreceiverisnotcompatiblewith80-bitwirelesstransmitters.
INSTALLATION
Installthereceiverinacentralareaofthepremises,ashighabovegroundaspractical
(allowatleasta9-inchclearanceabovereceivertomounttheantennas).
• Thereceivershouldbeatleast5feetfromthecontrolleroranyotherelectronicdevice.
• Theopen-airrangeis1000feet;buildingconstructionwillreducetherange.
• Avoidareaswherereceiverwillbeexposedtomoisture.
• Avoidareaswithexcessivemetalorelectricalwiring.Ifunavoidable,mountwhere
antennasextendabovethemetallicsurface.
Whenthelocationofthereceiverhasbeenestablished:
1. Removethecoverbyinsertingascrewdriverintotheslotonthebottomedgeofthe
cover,pushgentlytoreleasethelatch,andthenliftthecoverfromthebase.
2. Removethewirelessreceivercircuitboardfromthebasebygentlypryingdownthe
bottomlatchwhileslidingthecircuitboardfromunderthetwotoplatches.
3. Holdthebaseagainstthemountingsurfaceandmarkthetwo(2)mountingholes(see
Figure 1).Remembertoallowatleasta9-inchclearancetomounttheantennas.
4. Drillaholeateachmountingholemarkingandinstallthesuppliedwallanchors.
5. Mountthebase,usingthesuppliedscrews,tothewallanchors.
6. Inserttheantennasintothesuppliedantennashrouds(see Figure 1).
7. Gentlyslidethetopofthewirelessreceivercircuitboardunderthetwotoplatches.
8. Snapthecircuitboardinatthebottomlatchandsecureitinplace(see Figure 1).

OPERATION
Thetwooperatingmodesofthereceiverare"Run"and"Setup".
InRunMode,withthereceiverconnectedtoandcommunicatingwiththecontroller,
theModeLED(see Figure 1)shouldblinkoncepersecond.Thereceivermonitorsthe
statusofeachtransmitter.Ifthestatusconditionofatransmitterchanges,itisreported
tothereceiverandtheinformationisupdatedontheLEDdisplayandtheStatusLEDwill
ash.Thetransmitternumberashesonthedisplaywheneverareportisreceivedfrom
atransmitter.Thedisplaywillcontinuallydisplaythestatusofanytransmittersthatare
violated(notready)orthathavetrouble.Thetransmitternumberashesonthedisplay
followedbythestatuscondition(s).
NOTE:Ifthereceiverisnotcommunicatingwiththecontroller,theModeLEDwillblink
fourtimespersecond.
SET-TheSetswitch(see Figure 1)isusedtoincrementorchangethecurrentselection.
MODE /ADVANCE-TheMode/Advanceswitch(see Figure 1)isusedtoenterSetup
Mode,advancetothenextSetupitem,andtoconrmaselection.Itisalsousedtoexit
SetupMode.
LED DISPLAY-TheLEDDisplay(see Figure 1)isusedtoshowthestatusofeach
transmitterandtoensurepropersetup.
MODE LED-InRunMode,theModeLED(see Figure 1)isusedtoindicate
communicationstatuswiththecontroller.InSetupMode,theModeLEDisusedto
indicateifatransmittersendsarestorecode.
TYPE LED-InSetupMode,theTypeLED(see Figure 1)isusedtoindicateifa
transmitterissupervised.
STATUS LEDs–ThefollowingtableshowsthestatusoftheStatusLEDindicators:

SETUP MODE
TheSetupModeisusedtocongurethegeneraloperatingparametersofthereceiver,
toprogramatransmitterintothereceiver,andtochangethecharacteristicsofa
programmedtransmitter.TheModeLEDdoesnotblinkinSetupMode.
To enter the Setup Mode:
A.PressandholdtheMode/Advanceswitchforapproximatelytwoseconds.
B.PresstheSetswitchtoincrementthevalueofaSetupitem.
C.PresstheMode/AdvanceswitchistoadvancetothenextSetupitem.
Receiver Address
You are rst prompted to enter the receiver address. "A" is shown on the left of the display
and the current address is shown on the right. Press the Set switch to increment the
address value. The current address will be stored into memory when the Mode/Advance
switch is pressed. Setup Mode is exited when the Mode/Advance switch is pressed and
held for two seconds.
Number of Addresses
Next,youarepromptedtoenterthe"numberofaddresses"(seetheSetupinformation
inthisdocumentforcongurationofeachHAIcontroller).Theletter"n"isshownonthe
leftofthedisplayandthedigitforthecurrentnumberofaddressesisshownontheright
ofthedisplay.PresstheSetswitchtoincrementthenumberofaddressesvalue.The
currentnumberofaddresseswillbestoredintomemorywhentheMode/Advanceswitch
ispressed.SetupModeisexitedwhentheMode/Advanceswitchispressedandheldfor
twoseconds.
Configuring Transmitters
Allofthefollowinglocationsareusedforconguringandprogrammingtransmitters.Each
newtransmittercanbeprogrammedintothereceiverandeachprogrammedtransmitter,
alongwithitscharacteristics,isdisplayedandcanbemodied.Thetransmitternumberis
shownintheLEDDisplay.
If no transmitter is programmed in an address location, neither the Mode LED nor the
Type LED will be lit.
Ifatransmitterisprogrammedinanaddresslocation:
1. TheModeLEDindicateswhetherthetransmittersendsrestoretransmissions
• TheModeLEDisonifthetransmittersendsrestoretransmissions,andoffifit
doesn't.
2. TheTypeLEDshowswhetherthetransmitterissupervised.
• TheTypeLEDisonsteadyifthetransmitterissupervised,andblinksifitisn't.
TheSetswitchisusedtochangethecharacteristicsofaprogrammedtransmitter.Each
pressoftheSetswitchcyclesthrougheachcombinationofsupervised,sendsrestores,or
notransmitterprogrammed.
TheMode/Advanceswitchisusedtoadvancetothenexttransmitteraddresslocation.
SetupModeisexitedbypressingandholdingtheMode/Advanceswitchfortwoseconds.
TEACHING THE RECEIVER A TRANSMITTER ADDRESS
Ifnotransmitterisprogrammedinanaddresslocation,anewtransmittermaybe
programmedintothataddresslocationbyactivatingthedesiredtransmitter.Theactivated
transmitterwillthenbeenteredintothataddresslocation.Thetransmittermustbe
activatedaccordingtotheinstructionsthataccompanythetransmitter.
Basedonthetypeoftransmitter,thereceiverwilltrytosetthesupervisoryandrestore
characteristicsthatareappropriateforthattypeoftransmitter.Thesecanbechangedas
desiredusingtheSetswitch.
Onceatransmitterisprogrammedintoanaddresslocation,thetransmitteraddresswill
brieyturnoffwheneveratransmissionfromthattransmitterisreceived.Thiscanbeused
toverifythatthecorrecttransmitterhasbeenprogrammedandisoperatingreliably.
NOTE:Thecontrollerignoresthecurrentstatusofeachtransmitterwhilethereceiverisin
SetupMode.
TRANSMITTER SETUP
1. PressandholdtheMode/Advancebuttonfortwo(2)seconds.
2. "A1"willappear.OnOmniLT,Omni,OmniII,OmniIIe,andLumina,"A1"isalways
used.OnOmniPro,OmniProII,andLuminaPro,theaddresswilldependonthe
numberofexpansionenclosuresused.
3. PresstheMode/Advancebuttontosaveanychangesandproceed.
4. Next,"n1"willappear.Thevalueof"n"willdeterminethenumberofaddressesused.
5. PresstheMode/Advancebuttontosaveanychangesandproceed.
6. "1"willappear(1sttransmitteraddresslocation).Tripthetransmitter.Whenthe
42A00-2receivesthetransmission,the42A00willdisplaythedigit(transmitter
address)withadotoneitherside(thedotsindicatethetransmitter'scharacteristics).
7. PresstheMode/Advancebuttontosavethechangesandproceed.
8. "2"willappear(2ndtransmitteraddresslocation).Tripthetransmitter.Whenthe
42A00-2receivesthetransmission,the42A00-2willdisplaythedigit(transmitter
address)withadotoneitherside(thedotsindicatethetransmitter'scharacteristics).
9. PresstheMode/Advancebuttontosavethechangesandproceed.
10. Repeatforeachtransmitteraddress(1-64)untilalltransmittershavebeen
programmed.
11. Afteralltransmittershavebeenprogrammed,replacethecover.
RESETTING OR REMOVING A TRANSMITTER
Toreplaceanexistingtransmitter,resetthecharacteristicsofatransmitter,orremove
atransmitter,enterSetupModeasdescribedunder"TransmitterSetup"inthismanual.
Whenthetransmitteraddresslocationappearsonthedisplay,removethetransmitter's
characteristicsbypressingtheSETbuttonuntiltherearenodots(blinkingorotherwise)
oneithersideoftheaddressnumber.Thetransmitterinnowremoved.
Toreplacethetransmitter,simplytripthenewtransmitter.Whenthe42A00-2receivesthe
transmission,the42A00-2willdisplaythedigit(transmitteraddresslocation)withadoton
eitherside(thedotsindicatethetransmitter'scharacteristics).
RESET MEMORY
Toerasealltransmittersfrommemoryandtoresettothefactorydefaultconguration,
pressandholdboththeSetandMode/Advanceswitchessimultaneouslyfor2seconds.
Thedisplaywillshow"EE".Ifyouchoosetocontinue,pressandholdtheSetandMode/
Advanceswitchessimultaneouslyfor2secondsonceagain.Memoryisresetattheendof
thetwoseconds.
NOTE:Ifyouchoosenottoresetmemoryatthe"EE"display,don’tpressanykeysfor10
secondsandthereceiverwillreturntoRunMode.
CONNECTING TO OMNILT
ConnectthereceivertotheOmniLTcontrollerusing4-conductor,22-gaugeorlargerwire
asfollows:
1. Connectthe"A"and"B"terminalsofthe42A00-2tothe"YEL"(Yellow)and"GRN"
(Green)terminalsunderthesectionmarked"CONSOLE"ontheOmniLTcontroller
(Yellow=AandGreen=B).
2. Connectthe"+12"and"GND"terminalsofthe42A00-2tothe"RED"and"BLK"(Black)
terminalsunderthesectionmarked"CONSOLE"ontheOmniLTcontroller(Red=
+12VandBlack=GND).VerifythattheStatusLEDonthereceiverisilluminated.

ThisequipmenthasbeentestedandfoundtocomplywiththelimitsforaClassBdigitaldevice,pursuant
topart15oftheFCCRules.Theselimitsaredesignedtoprovidereasonableprotectionagainstharmful
interferenceinaresidentialinstallation.Thisequipmentgenerates,usesandcanradiateradiofrequency
energyand,ifnotinstalledandusedinaccordancewiththeinstructions,maycauseharmfulinterference
toradiocommunications.However,thereisnoguaranteethatinterferencewillnotoccurinaparticular
installation.Ifthisequipmentdoescauseharmfulinterferencetoradioortelevisionreception,which
canbedeterminedbyturningtheequipmentoffandon,theuserisencouragedtotrytocorrectthe

• Increasetheseparationbetweentheequipmentandreceiver.
• Connecttheequipmentintoanoutletonacircuitdifferentfromthattowhichthereceiveris
connected.
• Consultthedealeroranexperiencedradio/TVtechnicianforhelp.

LevitonwarrantstotheoriginalconsumerpurchaserandnotforthebenetofanyoneelsethatproductsmanufacturedbyLevitonundertheLevitonbrandname(“Product”)willbefreefromdefectsinmaterialandworkmanshipforthetimeperiodsindicatedbelow,whicheverisshorter:• OmniPro II and Lumina Pro: three(3)yearsfrominstallationor42monthsfrommanufacturedate. • OmniLT, Omni IIe, and Lumina: two(2)years
frominstallationor30monthsfrommanufacturedate. • Thermostats, Accessories: two(2)yearsfrominstallationor30monthsfrommanufacturedate. • Batteries: Rechargeablebatteriesinproductsarewarrantedforninety(90)daysfromdateofpurchase.Note:Primary(non-rechargeable)batteriesshippedinproductsarenotwarranted.Products with Windows®Operating Systems:Duringthewarrantyperiod,Levitonwillrestore
corruptedoperatingsystemstofactorydefaultatnocharge,providedthattheproducthasbeenusedasoriginallyintended.Installationofnon-Levitonsoftwareormodicationoftheoperatingsystemvoidsthiswarranty.Leviton’s obligationunderthisLimitedWarrantyislimitedtotherepairorreplacement,atLeviton’soption,ofProductthatfailsduetodefectinmaterialorworkmanship.Levitonreservestherighttoreplaceproductunder
thisLimitedWarrantywithneworremanufacturedproduct.Leviton will not be responsible for labor costs of removal or reinstallation of Product.TherepairedorreplacedproductisthenwarrantedunderthetermsofthisLimitedWarrantyfortheremainderoftheLimitedWarrantytimeperiodorninety(90)days,whicheverislonger.ThisLimitedWarrantydoesnotcoverPC-basedsoftwareproducts.Leviton is not responsible
for conditions or applications beyond Leviton’s control.
