Quick Start Guide
Introduction
Thank you for purchasing Lexar Media’s USB-Enabled JumpShot connectiv-
ity kit, the easiest and quickest way to transfer digital photos from your
camera to your PC or MAC. JumpShot permits you to read and write from
your USB-Enabled CompactFlash card using the USB port of your computer.
Please note the following items when using JumpShot:
■
While the USB-Enabled CompactFlash card is compatible with all
CompactFlash slots, the JumpShot cable works ONLY with cards with the
“USB-Enabled” icon on the front label.
■
Similar to any removable device such as floppy disks or PC Cards, DO
NOT remove the CompactFlash card while it is being accessed by
Windows (the green activity indicator is blinking).
■
Windows98:
Close any files that are opened and reside on the
CompactFlash card.
■
MAC:
CompactFlash card must be “ejected” or unmounted by dragging
the card’s disk icon into the trash.

Understanding the JumpShot Cable’s LED Activity
Indicator Signals
■
A steady green LED Activity Indicator signal means a functional USB-
Enabled CompactFlash card has been inserted into the JumpShot cable
(functional USB-Enabled card, but no read or write activity currently
taking place).
NOTE
: If the LED Activity Indicator does not turn on when a card has been
inserted, this may indicate that the card is not supported in JumpShot. This
card may not be an USB-Enabled CompactFlash card or that your USB-
Enabled card is damaged.
■
A blinking green LED Activity Indicator signal means data is being
transferred to or from the USB-Enabled CompactFlash card (read or write
activity), or initial recognition of USB-Enabled CompactFlash.
CAUTION
: Do not remove the CompactFlash card while the LED Activity
Indicator is blinking. Doing so may damage the CompactFlash and cause of
loss of data/images.
