CAUTION : Improper installation, adjustment, alteration, service or maintenance can void the warranty.
The weight of the condensing unit requires caution and proper handling procedures when lifting
or moving to avoid personal injury. Use care to avoid contact with sharp or pointed edges.
Safety Precautions
• Always wear safety eye wear and work gloves when installing equipment.
• Never assume electrical power is disconnected. Check with meter and equipment.
• Keep hands out of fan areas when power is connected to equipment.
• R-410A causes frostbite burns.
• R-410A is toxic when burned.
NOTE TO INSTALLING DEALER: The Owners Instructions and Warranty are to be given to the owner
or prominently displayed near the indoor Furnace/Air Handler Unit.
When wiring:
Electrical shock can cause severe personal injury or death. Only a qualified,
experienced electrician should attempt to wire this system.
• Do not supply power to the unit until all wiring and tubing are completed or reconnected and checked.
• Highly dangerous electrical voltages are used in this system. Carefully refer to the wiring diagram and these
instructions when wiring. Improper connections and inadequate grounding can cause accidental injury or death.
• Ground the unit following local electrical codes.
• Connect all wiring tightly. Loose wiring may cause overheating at connection points and a possible fire hazard.
When transporting:
Be careful when picking up and moving the indoor and outdoor units. Get a partner to help, and
bend your knees when lifting to reduce strain on your back. Sharp edges or thin aluminum fins on
the air conditioner can cut your finger.
When installing...
... in a wall: Make sure the wall is strong enough to hold the unit's weight.
It may be necessary to construct a strong wood or metal frame to provide added support.
... in a room: Properly insulate any tubing run inside a room to prevent "sweating" that can cause
dripping and water damage to wall and floors.
... in moist or uneven locatinons: Use a raised concrete pad or concrete blocks provide a solid,
level foundation for the outdoor unit. This prevents water damage and abnormal vibration.
... in an area with high winds: Securely anchor the outdoor unit down with bolts and a metal
frame. Provide a suitable air baffle.
... in a snowy area(for Heat Pump Model): Install the outdoor unit on a raised platform that is
higher than drifting snow. Provide snow vents.
When connecting refrigerant tubing
• Keep all tubing runs as short as possible.
• Use the flare method for connecting tubing.
• Check carefully for leaks before starting the test run.
When servicing
• Turn the power OFF at the main power box(mains) before opening the unit to check or repair
electrical parts and wiring.
• Keep your fingers and clothing away from any moving parts.
• Clean up the site after you finish, remembering to check that no metal scraps or bits of wiring have
been left inside the unit being serviced.

• Installation or repairs made by unqualified persons can result in hazards to you and others.
Installation MUST conform with local building codes or, in the absence of local codes, with the National Electrical
Code NFPA 70/ANSI C1-1993 or current edition and Canadian Electrical Code Part1 CSA C.22.1.

procedures and equipped with the proper tools and test instruments.

To prevent injury to the user or other people and property damage, the following instructions

1. Electric works should be carried out according to ʻThe technology requirement on the
electric installationʼ, The wiring standardʼand this manual by a qualified personnel.
2. If the installation isnʼt complete, electric shock or fire may occur, or death or injury can be caused.
3. If the capacity of the power circuit is insufficient or its installation wasnʼt done completely,
this may cause electric shock, fire or etc..
4. If the installation was done by a user, there may be incompleteness, which may cause
electric shock, fire, injury and death.
5. When operating the machine (applying power to the machine), do not carry out any electric
work and do not put hand or finger into it. This may cause electric shock, injury and death.

Setting feature for indoor unit when Auxiliary Heater Relay Kit is newly installed, or installed unit is removed.
Installer setting mode is to set the detail function of the remote controller.
If the installer setting mode is not set correctly, it can cause problems to the product, user
injury or property damage. This must be set by an certificated installer, and any installation
or change that is carried out by a non-certificated person should be responsible for the
results. In this case, free service cannot be provided.

With the FAN SPEED button pressed, press the RESET button.

and setting value. (Please refer the Installer Setting Code Table.)

ATTENTION : Toute installation, réglage, modification, entretien ou maintenance incorrect peut annuler la garantie.
Le poids de l'unité groupe compresseur-condenseur impose des procédures appropriées d'attention et de manipulation
lors des opérations de levage ou de déplacement afin d'éviter tout risque de blessures. Évitez surtout les contacts avec les bords tranchants ou pointus.
Consignes de sécurité
•
L'installation des équipements nécessite que les intervenants portent toujours des lunettes et des gants de sécurité.
• Ne considérez jamais que l'alimentation électrique est déconnectée. Vérifiez toujours avec les appareils appropriés.
• Maintenant les mains à distances des zones des ventilateurs si les équipements sont alimentés en courant électrique.
• Le fluide R-410A cause des gelures.
• Le fluide R-410A est toxique lorsqu'il brûle.
NOTE DESTINÉE AU REVENDEUR INSTALLATEUR : Les modes d'emploi et garanties doivent être remis au client ou placés de façon
évidente à proximité de l'unité générateur d'air chaud / armoire de traitement d'air.
Lors du câblage :
Une décharge électrique peut causer des blessures graves ou un accident mortel.
Le câblage de ce système ne peut être confié qu'à un électricien qualifié et expérimenté.
• Ne mettez pas l'appareil sous tension tant que tous les câblages et raccordements de tuyaux n'ont pas été terminés ou réalisés, puis vérifiés.
• Ce système utilise des tensions électriques élevées et dangereuses. Lors du câblage, reportez-vous soigneusement au
schéma de câblage et à ces instructions.
Tout raccordement incorrect ou mise à la terre incorrecte peut causer des accidents provoquant des blessures, voire la mort.
• La mise à la terre doit être effectuée conformément aux codes électriques locaux.

Branchez tous les câbles fermement. Un câblage desserré peut provoquer une surchauffe aux points de connexion avec le risque de déclenchement d'un incendie.
Lors du transport :
Soyez vigilant en soulevant et en déplaçant les unités intérieures et extérieure.Faites-vous aider et
pliez vos genoux pour le levage afin de réduire l'effort appliqué à votre dos. Attention, les bords
tranchants ou les ailettes fines en aluminium du climatiseur peuvent vous couper les doigts.
Lors de l'installation...
... dans un mur : Vérifiez que le mur est suffisamment solide pour contenir le poids de l'appareil.
Il sera peut-être nécessaire de construire un cadre robuste en bois ou en métal comme complément de support.
... dans une pièce : Isolez de façon appropriée toute la tubulure présente dans la pièce afin de prévenir
toute "transpiration" avec le risque de voir le mur et le plancher endommagés par l'écoulement de l'eau.
... dans des emplacements humides ou non à niveau : Utilisez une plate-forme cimentée haute ou des blocs de béton pour fournir une base à niveau et
robuste pour l'unité extérieure.Ceci afin d'éviter les dommages dus à l'eau et aux vibrations anormales.
... dans une région fortement exposée aux vents: Fixez correctement l'unité extérieure avec des boulons et un
support métallique. Installez un déflecteur d'air approprié.
... dans une zone neigeuse (pour le modèle pompe à chaleur) : Installez l'unité extérieure sur une plate-forme relevée qui est plus haute que
l'accumulation de neige transportée par le vent. Installez des prises d'air de neige.
Lors du raccordement des tubulures de fluide frigorigène
• Veillez à ce que les tubulures soient aussi courtes que possible.
• Utilisez la méthode de l'évasement pour le raccordement des tubulures.
• Recherchez soigneusement toute fuite éventuelle avant de lancer un test de fonctionnement.
Lors des opérations d'entretien
• Avant d'ouvrir l'appareil pour des contrôles ou réparations des pièces électriques et du câblage,
mettez l'appareil hors tension (OFF) au niveau du boîtier d'alimentation principal (secteur).
• Maintenez vos doigts et vêtements à distance des pièces mobiles.
• Une fois les opérations terminées, nettoyez le site et vérifiez bien qu'aucun déchet métallique ou
morceau de câblage n'ait été oublié à l'intérieur de l'appareil ayant fait l'objet de l'entretien.

Afin de prévenir tout risque de blessure pour l'utilisateur ou des tiers, ainsi des dégâts

1. Les opérations d'installations électriques doivent être réalisées conformément à ce manuel et aux 'Recommandations
technologiques vis-à-vis des installations électriques et normes de câblage' par un personnel qualifié.
2. Si l'installation s'avère incomplète, vous vous exposez à des risques de décharges électriques ou
d'incendie avec pour conséquence des blessures graves, voire mortelles.
3. Si la capacité du circuit d'alimentation est insuffisante ou si son installation n'a pas été

Mise en garde
1. Avant l'installation lisez ce manuel, puis effectuez tous les travaux autour de cette machine
conformément à ce manuel.
2. Avant l'installation, vérifier bien tous les éléments inclus. (Toutefois, veillez à n'utiliser que
des types de produits certifiés si vous avez à acheter des éléments en plus de ceux fournis
par LG chez votre distributeur.)
3. Veillez à effectuer toutes les mises à la terre. (Surtout, ne raccordez pas l'appareil à une
canalisation de gaz, une canalisation d'eau, un paratonnerre ou une ligne de mise à la terre
téléphonique. En outre, si la mise à la terre n'a pas été correctement effectuée, il y a des
