Positioning the System
The following illustration shows an example of
positioning the system. Note that the illustrations
in these instructions differ from the actual unit for
explanation purposes.
For the best possible surround sound, all the
speakers other than the subwoofer should be
placed at the same distance from the listening
position (O).

• Be careful to make sure children not to put
their hands or any objects into the %peaker
duct.
%peaker duct: A hole for plentiful bass
sound on speaker cabinet (enclosure).
• Place the center speaker at a safe distance
from the child's reach.
Otherwise it may result in the speaker falling
down and causing personal injury and/or
property damage.
• The speakers contain magnetic parts, so
colour irregularity may occur on the CRT
TV screen or PC monitor screen. Please use
the speakers away from theTV screen or PC
monitor screen.
• Before using the subwoofer, remove the
protective vinyl.

Place the front speakers to the sides of the monitor
or screen and as flush with the screen surface as
possible.
@Center speaker:
Place the center speaker above or below the
monitor or screen.

Place these speakers behind your listening position,
facing slightly inwards.
(_ Subwoofer:
The position of the subwoofer is not so critical,
because low bass sounds are not highly directional.
But it is better to place the subwoofer near the
front speakers.Turn it slightly toward the center of
the room to reduce the wall reflections.

Attaching the speakers to the
player
1. Connect the wires to the unit.
Match each wire's colored band to the same
colored connection terminal on the rear of the
unit.To connect the cable to the unit, press
each plastic finger pad to open the connection
terminal. Insert the wire and release the finger
pad.
To connect the cable to the speakers, press each
plastic finger pad to open the connection terminals
on the base of each speaker. Insert the wire and
release the finger pad.

• Be careful to make sure children do not put

Connect the black stripe of each wire to the
terminals marked -(minus) and the other end
to the terminals marked + (plus).
Connect a woofer cord to the player.When
connecting a woofer cord to the player, insert
the connector until it clicks.
2. Connect the wires to the speakers.

correct speaker according to the color coding:

Setting up the wireless receiver for
the first time
1. Connect theWireless Receiverand the rear
speaker(right, left) with the speakercables.

2. Connect the power cord oftheWireless
Receiver to the outlet.
3. Turn off the unit and insert the Wireless TX into
theW[RELESS connector on the rear of the unit.
4. Turn on the main unit:The main unit and
wireless receiverwill be automatically
connected.

Insert the Wireless TX with the marked
"Wireless TX" facing upwards to rear on the
unit.
Insert the Wireless TX to the line on the
Wireless TX into the WIRELESS connector on
the rear of the unit.
• Do not insert a wireless dongle other than
the Wireless TX dongle dedicated for the
product.The product might be damaged or
it may not be removed easily.
Manually pairing wireless receiver
When your connection is not completed, you can
see the red LED on the wireless receiver and rear
speakers are not made sound.To solve the problem,
follow the below steps.
1. Press and hold [] STOP button on the unit
and u(_ MUTE button on the remote control
simultaneously.
- Displays the"REMATE'.
2. Press PAIRING on back of the wireless receiver.
-The yellow LED will flicker
3. Turn offand on the unit.
- If you see "yellow" LED, it's successful.
4. If you don't see "yellow" LED, try again Step I -
Step 3.
- @ Note
• ffyou operate main unit then wireless
receiver (rear speakers) sound within a few
seconds in standby mode.
Set the distance between this unit and
wireless receiver within 10 m (32 ft.).
Optimum performance can be
implemented only when the unit and the
wireless receiver within distance of 2 m (6 ft.)
to 10 m (32 ft.) is used since communication
failure may occur if longer distance is used.
It takes a few seconds (and may take longer)
for the Wireless TX and wireless receiver to
communicate with each other.

About Ferrite Core (for EMI only)
Be sure to attach the ferrite core to the power cord
(for connecting to this unit and wireless receiver).

How to attach the ferrJte core
1. Pull the stopper [a] of the ferrite core to open.
2. Wind the rear speaker cables around the ferrite
core twice.
3. Close the ferrite core until it clicks.

• If there is a strong electromagnetic wave
product nearby, interference may occur. Put
the unit (Wireless Receiver and main unit)
away from there.
•If there is no audio signal for longer than
10 minutes, the Wireless Receiver will
automatically switch to standby mode. in
power saving mode, both LEDs will turn
red. LEDs will turn yellow when there is any
audio signal back.
•If you operate main unit then wireless
speakers (rear speakers) sound within a few
seconds in standby mode.
• Set the distance between this unit and
Wireless Receiver within 10 m (32 fL).
• Optimum performance can be
implemented only when the Wireless TX
and the Wireless Receiver within distance
of 2 m (6 ft.) to 10 m (32 ft.) is used since
communication failure may occur if longer
distance is used.
•Be sure to match the speaker cable to the
appropriate terminal on the components:
+ to + and to .If the cables are reversed,
the sound will be distorted and will lack
bass.
• Ettakes a few seconds (and may take longer)
for the Wireless TX and Wireless Receiver to
communicate with each other.

Connecting to Your TV
If you have a HDMI TV or monitor, you can connect
it to this player using a HDMI cable (Type A, High
speed HDMI TM cable with Ethernet). Connect the
HDMI jack on the player to the HDMI jack on a
HDMI compatible TV or monitor.

• Ira connected HDMI device does not accept
the audio output of:the player, the HDMI
device's audio sound may be distorted or
may not output.
• When you use HDMI connection, you can
change the resolution for the HDMI output.

• Select the type of:video output from the
HDMI OUT jack using [HDMI Color Setting]
option on the [Settings] menu (see page
30).
• Changing the resolution when the
connection has already been established
may result in malfunctions.To solve the
problem, turn offthe player and then turn it
on again.
• When the HDMI connection with HDCP
is not verifled, TV screen is changed to
black screen. In this case, check the HDMI
connection, or disconnect the HDMI cable.
•If there are noises or lines on the screen,
please check the HDMI cable (length is
generally limited to 4.5 m(15 ft.)).
Set the TV's source to HDMI (refer toTV's Owner's
manual].
Additional Information for HDMI
*When you connect a HDMI or DVI compatible
device make sure of the following:
- Try switching off the HDMI/DVI device and
this player. Next, switch on the HDMI/DVI
device and leave it for around 30 seconds,
then switch on this player.
-The connected device's video input is set
correctly for this unit.
- The connected device is compatible with
720x480p, 1280x720p, 1920x1080i or
1920x1080p video input.
,Not all HDCP-compatible HDMI or DVI devices
will work with this player.
- The picture will not be displayed properly
with non-HDCP device.

What is SIMPLINK?

Some functions of this unit are controlled by the
TV's remote control when this unit and LGTV's with
SIMPLINK are connected through HDMI connection.
Controllable functions by LGTV's remote control;
Play, Pause, Scan, Skip, Stop, Power Off, etc.
Refer to the TV owner's manual for the details of
SIMPLINK function.
LGTV's with SIMPLINK function has the logo as
shown above.

Depending on the disc type or playing status,
some SIMPLINK operation may differ from your
purpose or not work.

ARC (Audio Return Channel)
function
The ARC function enables an HDMI capable TV to
send the audio stream to HDMI OUT of this player.
To use this function:
- Your TV must support the HDMI-d.EC and ARC
function and the HDMI-d.E(. and ARC must be
set to On.
- The setting method of HDMI-d.E(. and ARC may
differ depending on the TV. For details about
ARC function, refer to your TV manual.
- You must use the HDMI cable (Type A, High
Speed HDMr Mcable with Ethernet).
- You must connect with the HDMI IN that
supports the ARC function using the HDMI OUT
on this player.
- You can connect only one HomeTheater toTV
compatible with ARC.

Resolution setting
The [)layer provides several output resolutions f:or
HDMI OUT jack.You can change the resolution
using [Settings] menu.
1. Press HOME(@).
2. Use </>to select the [Settings] and press
ENTER (®).The [Settings] menu appears.
3. Use A /V to select [DISPLAY] option then
press >to move to the second level.
4. Use A /V to select the [Resolution] option
then press ENTER (®) to move to the third level.
5. Use A /V to select the desired resolution then
press ENTER(®) to conf:irmyour selection.

• If:yourTV does not accept the resolution
you have set on the player, you can set
resolution to 480p as f:ollows:
1. Press _ to open the disc tray.
2 Press [] (STOP) f:or more than 5 seconds.
• If:you select a resolution manually and then
connect the HDMI jack toTV and your TV
does not accept it, the resolution setting is
set to [Auto].
• If:you select a resolution that yourTV
does not accept, the warning message
will appear. After resolution change,
if:you cannot see the screen, please
wait 20 seconds and the resolution will
automatically revert back to the previous
resolution.
° The 1080p video output f:rame rate may
be automatically set to either 24 Hz or
60 Hz depending both on the capability
and pref:erence of: the connected TV and
based on the native video f:rame rate of:the
content on the BD-ROM disc.
