Access the LG smart ThinQ website (http://us.smartthinQ.com
After Clicking the Sign Up Button, agree to the terms of use & privacy
statements by clicking “Confirm” on each.
Don’t forget the ID/Password entered. These will be used at the Product
Registration for each Smart ThinQ appliance.
Member registration is completed after the Email authentication.

Smart ThinQ™Technology
Note Before Using
To use the connectivity features of the refrigerator, you must
create a user ID and password at: http://us.smarthinq.com
Registration of the Smart ThinQ refrigerator can only be
completed from the refrigerators display screen.
Registration and Wi-Fi is required to connect the refrigerator
to the range and smart phone.

Downloading the Smart Phone Application
Enable Wi-Fi on your phone.
Search and download the “LG Smart Refrigerator” app from
the Play Store with your smart phone. After the down load
is complete, install the application
Open App
Enter your Smart ThinQ user ID and password.
App will confirm.
Refrigerator must be connected to Wi-Fi and registered to
connect.

Smart Refrigerator App Capabilities.
Allows you to receive and transfer data and monitor refrigerator
settings. Recipes, Food Manager, and Grocery apps function
the same as the widgets on the refrigerator display. See next
page for Ref Manager app.
Photo Transfer allows you to transfer photos taken with your
smart phone to the Refrigerator Photo Album. See Pg 18
Smart Diagnosis allows both Wi-Fi and audible diagnosing with
the smart phone.

Synchronizing Phone
Synchronizing LG Smart Refrigerator app to Smart Refrigerator
Synchronizing is an automatic feature of the app. After logging
in a prompt different than what is viewed to the left will briefly
appear to confirm you are connected to Smart Refrigerator.
When data is transferred to or from the refrigerator
synchronization must take place or data will be lost. Touch
Send or Receive to complete data transfer.
Error Message: Follow instructions on screen, Log In required
or check Wi-Fi connection on both phone and refrigerator.

REF Manager Monitor screen
Ref Manager App
Allows monitoring of refrigerator settings only. Adjustments can
not be done from phone. Multiple Smart Refrigerator apps can
be registered to same product this can create temperature
issues.
Monitoring of Refrigerator/Freezer temperature, Fresh Air Filter,
Water Filter, Ice Plus, Eco Friendly and Smart Saving (Zigbee).
Both phone and refrigerator must be connected to Wi-Fi and
logged in and registered.
Swipe screen right or left touch Ref Manager or select icon at
bottom of screen.

Uploading Pictures to the refrigerator from an
SD card or Smart Phone.
Pictures can be imported up to 300MB to the
Photo Album.
Imported pictures size is automatically
converted to the display resolution.
The refrigerator display allows photos to be
viewed as a slide show or saved to the
Home screen.
Uploading Photos to the Album by Smart
Phone.
Log in to Refrigerator app.
Touch Photo Album
Select photo
Touch Photo Transfer.
Touch Send to Refrigerator
Refrigerator display will prompt you to import
photos.
