RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK - Accidental contact with
electrically live parts, items, fluid, or water can cause serious
injury or death.
 Always disconnect the pump from its power source before handling or making any adjustments to the pump.
 Only qualified personnel should complete fixed wiring and electrical connections, according to all local and
national electrical codes, during a pump installation.
 After installation, be certain that the pump is properly grounded, using its supplied grounding conductor.
Failure to properly ground the pump can cause all metal portions of the pump and any of its surroundings to
become energized.
 During flood conditions, submerged electrical connections can energize the water. Always wear dielectric
rubber boots and other applicable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when water is on the floor and you
must service an energized pump. DO NOT ENTER THE WATER if the water level is higher than that of the
protection your PPE offers or if your PPE is not watertight.
 DO NOT bypass grounding wires.
 The electrical power supply shall be located within the length limitations of the pump power cord, and for
below grade installations it shall be at least 1.22 m (4 feet) above floor level.
 NEVER lift or carry a pump by its power cord. This will damage the power cord, and could expose the
electrically live wires inside the power cord.
 During construction, if the pump is installed before its power cord can be plugged in or direct wired, the power
cord must be protected from the environment to prevent water from wicking through the cord end into the
pump housing. If water enters the pump an electrical short can occur from the pump to its surroundings,
which will energize the surroundings.
 NEVER use this product in applications where human contact with the pumped fluid is common (such as
swimming pools, fountains, marine areas, etc.).

RISK OF FIRE
 DO NOT use an extension cord to power the pump. Extension cords can overload both the pump and
extension cord supply wires. Overloaded wires will get very hot and can catch on fire.
 This pump requires a separate, properly fused and grounded branch circuit, sized for the voltage and
amperage requirements of the pump, as noted on the nameplate. Overloaded branch circuit wires will get
very hot and can catch on fire.
 NEVER use this product with or near flammable liquids. If the rotating elements inside this pump strike any
foreign object, sparks may occur. Sparks could ignite flammable liquids.
 DO NOT install this pump in locations classified as hazardous or in explosive atmospheres as defined by any
applicable electrical safety code.
RISK OF SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH
 The pump must be installed in accordance with all applicable codes and ordinances.
 DO NOT allow children to play with the pump.
 DO NOT allow children, or any person who is unqualified to use the pump. Any person who is unaware of the
dangers of this pump, or whom has not read this manual, can easily be injured by the pump.
 Wear adequate PPE when working on pumps or piping that have been exposed to wastewater. Sump and
sewage pumps often handle materials which can transmit illness or disease upon contact with your skin and
other tissues.
 DO NOT remove any tags or labels from the pump or its cord.
 NEVER enter a pump basin after it has been used. Sewage and effluent can emit poisonous gases. Inhaling
these gases can cause serious damage to respiratory and central nervous systems, or death.
 ALWAYS, keep clear of the pump’s suction and discharge openings. The rotating elements of this pump can
easily draw in and cause injury or damage foreign objects.
 Never insert fingers into pump while it is energized. An energized pump may start without warning, for
example, when the pump cools after it has thermally overloaded. The rotating elements of this pump can
easily dismember your fingers.
 This pump has been evaluated for use with water only, however use with human waste and toilet paper is
permitted.
 DO NOT use this product to pump corrosive liquids. Pump components can be damaged from corrosive
liquids and cause product malfunction or failure.
 NEVER dispose of materials such as paint thinner or other chemicals down drains. Doing so could
chemically attack and damage pump components and cause product malfunction or failure.
 DO NOT use pumps with fluid over 40C. Operating the pump in fluid above this temperature can overheat
the pump, causing the thermal overload to cut the power to the unit. Flooding can occur until the pump cools
enough to allow the thermal protector to re-supply the pump with power.
 DO NOT use pumps with mud, sand, cement, oil or chemicals. Pump components can be damaged from
these items causing product malfunction or failure. Additionally, flooding can occur if these items jam the
impeller or piping.
 DO NOT modify the pump in any way. Modifications may affect seals, change the electrical loading of the
pump, or damage the pump and its components. Modifications can void your warranty on this product.
 DO NOT run this pump dry.

This manual was prepared to assist you in the correct installation, operation, and maintenance of your Liberty
Pumps product. Before Installation, read the following instructions carefully. Each Liberty pump is individually
factory tested to provide proper performance. Liberty pumps are designed for minimal maintenance. However,
regular inspections will ensure longer life and greater operating reliability. Make certain that you understand the
chapters on electrical connection and mechanical installation before starting the installation of your Liberty pump.
By closely following these instructions, potential operating problems should be eliminated, providing years of
trouble-free service.
2-1 INTRODUCTION
WARRANTY: Repair work carried out during the warranty period without Liberty Pump’s prior approval may
render the warranty void.
SERIAL #: In all correspondence and reports with Liberty Pumps, provide the pump serial number to ensure that
you receive the proper information and replacement parts.
2-2 INSPECTION UPON RECEIPT
The shipping container should be immediately inspected for damage that may have occurred during shipment.
Exercise care in opening the shipping container to avoid damage to the pump and its power cord. Remove any
blocking and cushioning from within the container.
Check all cushioning for spare parts before discarding. Visually check the pump and any spare parts for damage.
Check for damaged electrical wires, especially where they exit the motor housing. Contact the Liberty Pumps
Customer Service Department to report any damage or shortage of parts. Turn the sewage pump’s impeller
through several rotations. This will ensure that the impeller is free of any seizure due to prolonged storage. If the
impeller is not rotated manually prior to installation, the pump may fail to start. If the impeller’s rotation is difficult
or completely resistant, contact the Liberty Pumps Customer Service Department.
2-3 STORAGE BEFORE USE
1. If it is necessary to store a pump for a long period of time, it should be stored indoors in a clean, dry,
temperature-stable environment. The pump should be covered to protect it from dirt and water. The ends of
the cables must be protected against moisture.
2. Prior to installation, and with the power off, rotate the impeller by hand to verify movement
and lubricate the seals.
Introduction
Do not turn impeller by hand if the pump is energized.
Doing so creates an electrical shock hazard.
Only place the pump in a wet pit when it can be operated.
Water can wick through the power cord into the pump
causing an electrical short from the pump to its
surroundings.
Only place the pump in a wet pit when it can be operated. Storing the
pump in an incomplete wet pit can cause extreme corrosion which can
fuse rotating and stationary parts together, causing damage to the
pump when operated.

2-4 DESIGN OF PUMP
 Liberty LEH-Series Sewage pumps are designed to be operated continuously submerged underwater. The
motor and pump form a close coupled, watertight unit. The pump’s motor is insulated against heat and
moisture in accordance with Class B 130°C (265°F) regulations.
 A thermal overload protector is imbedded in the motor windings of all single phase pumps. This is connected
in series and wired to shut down the pump if overheating occurs. The overload switch resets automatically
when the motor cools.
 The motor is protected against damage from water entry by a double seal design. The lower seal is a lip seal,
composed of a rubber based elastomer. The upper seal is a mechanical cartridge seal, consisting of two
silicon-carbide faces. If the mechanical seal becomes compromised, pollution of the pumped liquid could
occur due to turbine oil seeping into the volute cavity.
 The impeller and volute are designed for efficient flow characteristics and clog-free operation. The cast iron
impeller is designed to pass solids up to 5.08 cm (2”) in diameter. To avoid blockages, system discharge
piping must have an inner diameter no less than that of the maximum solid size, 5.08 cm (2”).
2-5 LEH-E SERIES MODEL SPECIFICATIONS
All models, as designated in Table 1, require a separate approved pump
control device or panel for automatic operation. Operation of these
models will be according to the control selected. Make sure the
electrical specifications of the control selected properly match the
electrical specifications of the pump. 3 phase models require overload
elements selected or adjusted in accordance with the control or panel
instructions. Improperly set controls can cause the pump to not
operate as designed, causing pump damage and flooding.

Rotating parts hazard. When pump is energized, be
careful around pump base. Pump should be in a basin or
a safe distance from people and objects, especially wires.
Energized pump may start without warning, for
example, when the pump cools after a thermal
overload. Never work on an energized pump.

 Sewage systems require an approved liquid tight sump or receiving tank with an air-tight cover. The tank or
cover shall be connected with vent piping that is sized as required by national and local plumbing codes or
ordinances.
 To prevent piping blockages and damage from frozen water, tank installation should be at a sufficient depth
to ensure that all plumbing is below the frost line.
 During installation, pump controls shall be configured such that the pump turn off level is 1m (3.3 ft) from the
bottom of the tank.
 LEH-Series sewage pumps may be mounted on a guide rail using one of Liberty's GR-Series guide rail
bases, or stand-alone (See Figure A). Pump and guide rail installation shall be in accordance with all
plumbing codes and ordinances and only be performed by qualified personnel. Typical installations consist
of a guide rail mount in a fiberglass, concrete, or polyethylene tank.
GUIDE RAIL INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
LEH-Series Liberty Pumps use either GR22-LE or GR30 Guide Rail Systems (refer to Fig. A)
1. Install the guide rail claw on the pump with the supplied bolts and rubber gasket.
2. For the best seal, apply any standard grease to the hook points of the guide rail claw and to the exposed
face of the pre-applied claw gasket that seals to the guide rail base.
3. Liberty GR-Series guide rail systems contain self-aligning features to ensure the pump seats on the guide
rail base properly. Using the lifting chain, position the guide rail claw over the upper guide rail support.
Begin to lower the pump down the guide rail into the tank.
4. As the pump nears its final position, keep the pump and claw oriented such that the straightening rib self-
aligns the claw with the guide rail base support ears. When the guide rail claw hooks the guide rail base
support ears, the chain will slacken.
5. Grasp the lifting chain and shake the pump to ensure a good seat with the gasket. The pump is now
suspended by the bracket ears. The weight of the pump will compress the gasket against the mating flange
of the guide rail base to create a seal.
6. The lifting chain may be removed from the hoist and hooked near the upper guide rail support.
Mechanical Installation
Explosion and fire hazard. Do not install this pump
in locations classified as hazardous or in explosive
atmospheres as defined by any applicable national
electrical safety code.
Never pull on the power cord or lift pump by power
cord. Doing so could damage the power cord and
create an electrical shock hazard. Only use lifting
chain or cable to lift pump.

4-1 WIRING OF PUMP
Liberty Pumps LEH-Series Sewage pumps are available in a wide range of voltage and phase configurations.
Prior to connecting the pump, check the pump’s nameplate to ensure it is rated to match the supply voltage. See
Fig. B, Fig. C, and Fig. D for basic pump wiring diagrams for all 1-Phase and 3-Phase configurations.
Additionally it is required that all pumps have a means incorporated into the fixed system wiring to disconnect all
supply power.

4-2 CONTROL PANELS
Liberty Pumps LEH-Series Sewage pumps must be controlled by an approved control panel in compliance with
the safety and control requirements of 2006/42/EC. Installation and connections are specific to the control panel.
Control panels should be installed and serviced only by a qualified electrician.
To prevent serious damage to the pump, follow wiring diagram
included with control panel. If diagram is missing, do not
connect the pump until you have obtained diagram from control
panel manufacturer.
4-3 BEFORE ENERGIZING PUMP, DO THE FOLLOWING:
1. Check that all field and factory made connections are tight. Factory connections may have loosened due to
shipping and handling vibrations.
2. Check the security of mounting hardware.
3. Check the enclosure to see that it has not been damaged.
4. Rotate the impeller by hand to verify movement and lubricate the seals.
5. Ensure that no wires or other obstructions are in the way of the impeller.
6. Motor Overload Protection:
a. 1-Phase pumps are protected from locked rotor and running overloads by a thermal overload integral
to the motor. No adjustments are required.
b. 3-Phase pumps must be protected
from locked rotor and running
overloads by an external thermal
overload device located in the control
panel. Adjust the device to the Full
Load Amps, value found in Table 2 at
right, of the pump being installed
prior to operation.
7. Confirm that all grounding connections have
been properly made.
8. When a panel is used, all debris, scrap wire, etc. must be removed from the control panel interior before
closing the doors. When closing doors, make certain that no wires are pinched and that all enclosure parts
are properly aligned and tightened.
For 3-phase pumps, check for proper rotation before
installing pump into basin. Failure to check rotation can
result in pump not performing as designed, resulting
pump damage and flooding. See figure D for proper
rotation.

When power is first applied to a control panel or
breaker that has a pump installed, serious injury or
damage can occur if there are faults in the pump
from improper installation. Have a licensed
electrician present when the control panel is first
energized.

To check three phase pumps for proper rotation prior to installation,
restrain the pump before applying power. Turn the power to the on
and off, and observe the pumps rotation. To change rotation, reverse
any two of the three hot leads to the pump. Code the wires for
reconnection later.

5-1 OPERATION
After the electrical and mechanical installations have been performed and inspected, the pump is ready for
operation. No operational procedures are required except to apply rated power to the pump. There are no
specific shutdown procedures other than disconnecting the pump from the power supply.
5-2 PERIODIC MAINTENANCE & LUBRICATION
Liberty pumps are designed for long lasting, efficient and reliable service with minimum preventive maintenance
checks. These checks are few but will add years of satisfactory service to the life of the pump. Maintenance
checks should be performed at the intervals stated. Severe operating environments will require more frequent
checks.
 Installed pumps which are idle for long periods of time should be manually operated through the control
panel once a month to lubricate the seals.
 This LEH-Series pump is permanently lubricated and cooled by 2.7 Liters (0.7 Gallons) of ISO-32 turbine
oil. Under normal operating conditions replacement oil is not required, contact Liberty for further
instruction if you believe the oil should be replaced.
5-3 POWER CORD REPLACEMENT
1. Obtain an exact replacement for your power cord and its crimp connectors from Liberty Pumps.
2. Disconnect pump from power source prior to servicing.
3. Remove the (4) fasteners from the perimeter of the cord entry plate and pull gently away from pump until
crimped male-female disconnections are visible.
4. Mark wires on pump side of crimp connectors with the color of the attached wire from the supply cable.
5. Disconnect the power cable from the pump lead wires by pulling on the base of the connecter at the crimp.
Do not pull on the wires to separate the connector. Inspect the motor leads and connectors, replace them if it
is necessary.
6. Separate the grounding conductor from the old power cord using the same process described to remove the
crimped connectors. Re-attach the grounding conductor to the new power cord by pushing the two terminals
together.
7. Reconnect the colored leads on the replacement supply cord to the appropriate labeled wire on the pump.
8. Reinstall the cord entry plate to the pump by installing and tightening the (4) fasteners around the perimeter of
the cord entry plate.
9. Reinstall the pump using the electrical and mechanical installation instructions covered in Sections 3 and 4.
5-4 OTHER REPAIRS

assistance.

including loose wires and other obstructions.
Power cord replacement shall only be completed by
a licensed electrician. Improper replacement can
create an electrical shock hazard.

 Verify the pump runs manually, without floats. If the pump
works, check that all floats are free to move. If a float has
debris build-up or is restricted by its surroundings, clean
and reinstall float properly. Otherwise consult Liberty
Pumps.
 Motor thermal overload
device has tripped
(single phase device

 Disconnect the pump from its power source. Using a
multi-meter, verify that there is no continuity between the
hot and neutral motor leads. Once the pump cools, there
will be continuity, and the pump is safe to run. Otherwise
consult Liberty Pumps.
 Pump runs or
hums but does
not pump
 Discharge is blocked or
restricted
 Check the discharge line for blockage or for ice if the line
passes through or into cold areas.
 Check valve is stuck

 If check valve is present, remove and inspect for freedom

Remove any debris or rust that may be blocking the hole.

its factory specified setting.

 With the pump de-energized, inspect bottom of pump for
foreign material blocking impeller. If no blockage is found,
try rotating the impeller by hand. If the impeller will not
rotate, consult Liberty Pumps for further instruction.

 Attempt to re-route piping to a lower elevation. If this is
not possible, a larger pump may need to be installed.

Liberty Pumps, Inc. warrants that its pumps are free from all factory defects in material and workmanship for a period of 3
years from the date of purchase. The date of purchase shall be determined by a dated sales receipt noting the model and
serial number of the pump. The dated sales receipt must accompany the returned pump if the date of return is more than
3 years from the "CODE" (date of manufacture) number noted on the pump nameplate.
The manufacturer's sole obligation under this Warranty shall be limited to the repair or replacement of any parts found by
the manufacturer to be defective, provided the part or assembly is returned freight prepaid to the manufacturer or its
authorized service center, and provided that none of the following warranty-voiding events have taken place.
The manufacturer shall not be liable under this Warranty if the product has not been properly installed; if it has been
disassembled, modified, abused or tampered with; if the electrical cord has been cut, damaged or spliced; if the pump
discharge has been reduced in size; if the pump has been used in water temperatures above the advertised rating, or in
water containing sand, lime, cement, gravel or other abrasives; if the product has been used to pump chemicals or
hydrocarbons; if a non-submersible motor has been subjected to excessive moisture; or if the label bearing the serial,
model and code number has been removed. Liberty Pumps, Inc. shall not be liable for any loss, damage or expenses
resulting from installation or use of its products, or for indirect, incidental, and consequential damages, including costs of
removal, reinstallation or transportation.
THE WARRANTIES SET FORTH ABOVE ARE IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARANTIES, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED,

Este manual fue preparado para asistirle en la correcta instalación, operación y mantenimiento de su producto de
Liberty Pumps. Antes de la instalación, lea cuidadosamente las siguientes instrucciones. Cada bomba Liberty es
probada en la fábrica individualmente para proporcionar un rendimiento adecuado. Las bombas Liberty están
diseñadas para requerir un mantenimiento mínimo. Sin embargo, las inspecciones regulares garantizarán una
vida más larga y una mayor fiabilidad de funcionamiento. Asegúrese de entender los capítulos sobre la conexión
eléctrica y la instalación mecánica antes de comenzar la instalación de la bomba Liberty. Los problemas de

2-1 INTRODUCCIÓN
GARANTÍA: Las reparaciones llevadas a cabo durante el período de garantía sin la aprobación previa

2-2 INSPECCIÓN TRAS LA RECEPCIÓN
El contenedor debe ser inspeccionado inmediatamente por los daños que pudieran haber ocurrido durante el
envío. Tenga cuidado al abrir el contenedor para evitar daños a la bomba y al cable de alimentación.
Retire cualquier bloqueo y protección de dentro del contenedor.
ADVERTENCIA
Revise todas las protecciones en busca de piezas de repuesto antes de desecharlas. Revise visualmente la
bomba y todos los repuestos en busca de daños. Revise que los cables eléctricos no estén dañados,

2-3 ALMACENAMIENTO ANTES DE SU USO

ambiente limpio, seco y a temperatura estable. Debe cubrir la bomba para protegerla de la suciedad y el

2. Antes de la instalación y con la energía desactivada, gire el impulsor a mano para verificar el
movimiento y lubricar las juntas.
Introducción

cuando pueda ser operada. El agua puede gotear por el
cable de alimentación a la bomba provocando un
cortocircuito eléctrico de la bomba hacia su entorno.

2-4 DISEÑO DE LA BOMBA
ADVERTENCIA
 Las bombas para aguas residuales serie LEH de Liberty están diseñadas para operar continuamente
sumergidas bajo el agua. El motor y la bomba forman una unidad estrecha con cierre hermético. El motor de
la bomba está aislado contra el calor y la humedad de acuerdo con las regulaciones de 130 °C (265 ºF) de
clase B.
 Un protector de sobrecarga térmica está incrustado en los bobinados del motor de todas las bombas
monofásicas. Este es conectado en serie y cableado para apagar la bomba si ocurre el sobrecalentamiento.
El interruptor de sobrecarga se restablece automáticamente cuando el motor se ha enfriado.
ADVERTENCIA
 El motor está protegido con un diseño de sello doble contra daños causados por la entrada de agua. El sello
inferior es un sello de labio, compuesto de un elastómero de hule. El sello superior es un sello de cartucho
mecánico, que consta de dos caras de carburo de silicio. Si el sello mecánico se ve comprometido, el líquido
bombeado puede resultar contaminado con el aceite que se filtre de la turbina a la cavidad de la voluta.
 El impulsor y la voluta están diseñados con características de flujo eficiente y operación sin obstrucciones.
El impulsor de hierro fundido está diseñado para pasar sólidos hasta de 5.08 cm (2”) de diámetro. Para evitar
obstrucciones, el sistema de tubería de descarga no deben tener un diámetro interno menor que el tamaño
máximo de los sólidos, 5.08 cm (2”).
2-5 ESPECIFICACIONES DEL MODELO DE LA SERIE LEH
AVISO
Todos los modelos, como se señala en la Tabla 1, requieren un
dispositivo de control de la bomba independiente aprobado o un panel
de operación automática. El funcionamiento de estos modelos será
según el control seleccionado. Asegúrese de que las especificaciones
eléctricas del control seleccionado coincidan correctamente con las
especificaciones eléctricas de la bomba. Los modelos de 3 fases
requieren elementos de sobrecarga seleccionados o regulados de
acuerdo con las instrucciones del control o del panel. Los controles
configurados incorrectamente pueden hacer que la bomba no funcione
conforme a su diseño, causando daños a la bomba e inundaciones.

ADVERTENCIA
 Los sistemas de alcantarillado requieren un cárter a prueba de filtraciones aprobado o un tanque de
recepción con una tapa hermética. El tanque o la cubierta se debe conectar tubería de ventilación del
tamaño requerido por los códigos u ordenanzas de plomería locales y nacionales.
 Para evitar obstrucciones en la tubería y daños por agua congelada, la instalación del tanque debe ser a
una profundidad suficiente para asegurar que toda la plomería esté por debajo de la línea de congelación.
 Durante la instalación, los controles de la bomba deben configurarse para que el nivel de apagado de la
bomba sea de 1 m (3.3 pies) desde la parte inferior del tanque.
 Las bombas para aguas residuales serie LEH pueden ser montadas sobre un riel de guía con una de las
bases del riel de guía serie GR de Liberty, o independiente (Ver Figura A). La instalación de la bomba y del
carril de guía deberá cumplir con todos los códigos y ordenanzas, y realizarse sólo por personal capacitado.
La instalación normal consisten en un carril de guía montado en un tanque de fibra de vidrio, hormigón
o polietileno.
INSTRUCCIONES DE INSTALACIÓN DEL CARRIL DE GUÍA
Las bombas serie LEH de Liberty utilizan sistemas de carril de guía GR22-LE o GR30 (consulte la Figura A)
ADVERTENCIA
1. Instale el componente interno del carril de guía de la bomba con los tornillos y la empaquetadura de
hule suministrados.
2. Para la máxima hermeticidad, aplique grasa estándar a los puntos de enganche del componente interno del
carril de guía y en la cara expuesta del empaque del componente interno aplicada previamente que se sella
en la base del riel de guía.
3. Los sistemas de carril de guía serie GR Liberty contienen características autoalineables para asegurar que
la bomba se asienta adecuadamente en la base del carril de guía. Utilizando la cadena de elevación,
coloque la garra del carril de guía sobre el apoyo del riel de guía superior. Comience a bajar la bomba al
tanque con el carril de guía.
4. Mientras la bomba se acerca a su posición final, mantenga la bomba y el componente interno del carril
alineados de tal forma que la costilla enderezadora esté alineada con el componente interno del riel y con
las orejas de soporte de la base del riel de guía. Cuando el componente interno del carril de guía se
engancha las orejas de soporte de la base del carril de guía, la cadena se afloja.
5. Sujete la cadena de elevación y sacuda la bomba para asegurar que se asiente con la empaquetadura.
La bomba está suspendida ahora por las orejas de soporte. El peso de la bomba comprimirá la
empaquetadura contra la brida de acoplamiento de la base del riel de guía para crear un sello.
6. La cadena de elevación puede quitarse de la grúa y engancharse junto al apoyo del carril de guía superior.
Instalación mecánica
Peligro de explosión e incendio. No instale esta bomba
en sitios clasificados como peligrosos o en atmósferas
explosivas como se define en cualquier código de
seguridad eléctrica nacional aplicable.
Nunca tire del cable de alimentación o levante la
bomba por el cable de alimentación. Esto podría
dañar el cable de alimentación y crear un riesgo de
descarga eléctrica. Utilice únicamente un cable o
cadena de elevación para levantar la bomba.

4-1 CABLEADO DE LA BOMBA
Las bombas de aguas residuales serie
LEH están disponibles en una amplia
gama de configuraciones de voltaje y
fase. Antes de conectar la bomba,
revise la placa de la bomba para
asegurarse de que está clasificada
para coincidir con la tensión de
alimentación. Vea los diagramas
básicos de cableado de la bomba en
la Figura B, Figura C, y Figura D
para todas las configuraciones
monofásicas y trifásicas.
Además es necesario que todas las
bombas tengan un medio incorporado
en el cableado del sistema fijo que
desconecte la fuente de energía.
4-2 PANELES DE CONTROL
Las bombas de aguas residuales serie LEH-serie Liberty deben ser controladas por un panel de control aprobado
que cumpla con los requisitos de seguridad y control de 2006/42/EC. Las instalaciones y las conexiones son
específicas para el panel de control. Los paneles de control deben ser instalados y mantenidos por un
electricista capacitado.

AVISO

conecte la bomba hasta que obtenga el diagrama del fabricante
del panel de control.
4-3 ANTES DE ACTIVAR LA BOMBA, HAGA LO SIGUIENTE:
1. Compruebe que todas las conexiones hechas en el campo y la fábrica estén ajustadas. Las conexiones de la
fábrica puedan haberse aflojado debido a las vibraciones del manejo y envío.
2. Verifique la seguridad de los accesorios de montaje.
3. Revise el compartimento para comprobar que no se haya dañado.
4. Gire el rotor a mano para verificar el movimiento y lubricar los sellos.
5. Compruebe que no haya cables u otras obstrucciones en el camino de la hélice.
6. Protección de sobrecarga del motor:
a. Las bombas monofásicas están
protegidas contra los bloqueos del
rotor y sobrecargas térmicas
integrales del motor. No es necesario
hacer ajustes.
b. Las bombas trifásicas deben estar
protegidas contra los bloqueos del
rotor y sobrecargas térmicas
mediante un dispositivo externo de
sobrecarga térmica ubicado en el
panel de control. Ajuste el dispositivo a la carga nominal en amperios, valor que se encuentra en la
Tabla 2 a la derecha, de la bomba instalada antes de la operación.
7. Confirme que se han hecho correctamente todas las conexiones a tierra.
8. Cuando se utiliza un panel, todos los desechos, alambre de desecho, etc. deben retirarse del interior del
panel de control antes de cerrar las puertas. Al cerrar las puertas, asegúrese de que los cables no se
pellizquen y que todas las piezas del gabinete estén correctamente alineadas y apretadas.
ADVERTENCIA
AVISO
Con las bombas trifásicas, compruebe la rotación adecuada antes de instalar
la bomba en la cuenca. No revisar la rotación puede ocasionar que la bomba
no funcione como se diseñó, dando por resultado daños a la bomba e

Operación y reparación
Cuando se aplica energía por primera vez a un panel de control o
interruptor que tiene una bomba instalada, pueden ocurrir lesiones
graves o daños si hay fallas en la bomba a causa de la instalación
incorrecta. Haga que un electricista autorizado esté presente cuando
se activa por primera vez el panel de control.
Para revisar la correcta rotación de las bombas trifásicas antes de la instalación, refrene la
bomba antes de aplicar energía. Encienda y apague la energía y observe la rotación de la
bomba. Para cambiar la rotación, invierta cualquiera de dos de las tres guías energizadas a la
bomba. Identifique los cables para su reconexión más tarde.
