The Patriot is available in 35 VHF
frequencies.
1. MICROPHONE CABLE INPUT JACK
This jack is used for any 1/8"
microphone cable.
2. ON/OFF AND STANDBY SWITCH
The switch on the transmitter has three
positions: off, standby, and on. With the
transmitter ON (and the amplifier/speaker is
turned on) sound will come through the
amplifier/speaker. An initial “pop” sound
may be heard when turned to the ON posi-
tion. When the switch is turned to STANDBY
this mutes the microphone however still
powers the transmitter. When the switch is
in the STANDBY position the unit will not
broadcast however it will drain the battery.
As a general rule, use STANDBY when the
system will be used within a 15 minute time
period. If not in use more than 15 minutes,
the transmitter should be turned OFF to
conserve battery life.
3. POWER INDICATOR LIGHT
The light on the top of the transmitter will
shine red when the transmitter is in the
STANDBY mode. It will shine green when
the transmitter is in the ON position. If the
light does not come on when the switch is
turned to STANDBY or ON, check the battery.
4. GAIN CONTROL
This is a gain control for output of the
microphone. Turning the knob clockwise
increases the volume of the mic. Turning it
counter clockwise decreases the microphone
volume. This should only be adjusted when
all other gain/volume options have been tried.
5. BATTERY COMPARTMENT
The wireless transmitter uses one 9-volt
Nickel Metal Hydride rechargeable battery.
DO NOT USE ANY OTHER RECHARGE-
ABLE 9-VOLT BATTERY. Average battery
life is six hours.
6. CHARGING JACK
This charging jack is used to charge the
battery without having to take the battery
out of the transmitter. The charger that is
provided will charge the transmitter and
the amplifier/speaker pack.

sure the battery plug is firmly plugged
into this jack.

1. SPEAKER
This is a specialized speaker that is designed
specifically for the Patriot.
2. ON/OFF SWITCH
When the switch is in the up position the
unit is ON (light on the switch will come on).
When the switch is down the unit is OFF
and the light on the switch will go off.
3. CHARGER LIGHT
This light will turn on when the charger is
plugged into the charge jack and the charger
power supply is plugged into electricity.
4. CHARGING JACK
This is used to charge the battery. ONLY
USE THE CHARGER THAT IS PROVIDED
BY LIFELINE AMPLIFICATION
SYSTEMS. The light on the charger will
indicate READY when the battery is fully
charged.
5. AUDIO JACK
This jack will accept any mono RCA plug.
The intention of this jack is for plugging in
a compact disc player, tape player, boom
box, etc. The wireless WILL operate with
the unit plugged into this jack. For volume
of audio jack see number 7 on this page.
6. BATTERY
This is an eight cell battery specially designed
for the Patriot. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO
USE ANY OTHER BATTERY PACK
WITH THE UNIT. This battery pack should
last 6-8 hours depending on the volume
needed, source of material (talking, CD
music, etc.). PART NO. FOR REORDERING
IS PTLB-2 BATTERY.

9. RECEIVER
The receiver is installed inside the metal
enclosure. The receiver frequency must
match the frequency of the transmitter.
10. STRAP
This strap is adjustable to the length desired.
The strap can also be detached if needed.
11. POUCH
This pouch can hold the transmitter if neces-
sary for easy carrying.
*The amplifier/speaker and wireless can be
turned on and used while charging. You
may hear a very small buzz in the speaker
when you attempt to use the Patriot when
charging the battery. The Patriot can safely
be used in this manner.
1. POWER SUPPLY
This power supply needs to be plugged into
electricity for the charger to operate. The
opposite end of the power supply (the end
not plugged into electricity) needs to be
firmly plugged into the charger.
2. AMPLIFIER/RECEIVER PLUG
This plug needs to be inserted into the
amplifier/speaker to charge. It is labeled
AMP/SPEAKER. The CHARGING or
READY light will light up (see numbers 4
and 5) when this is plugged in.
3. TRANSMITTER PLUG
This plug needs to be inserted into the
transmitter for charging. It is labeled
TRANSMITTER.
4. CHARGING LIGHT
The CHARGING light will light up if the
amplifier/speaker and transmitter plug is
inserted in the appropriate place and the
batteries on either unit are not fully charged.
5. READY LIGHT
The READY light will appear when the
batteries on the amplifier/receiver and the
transmitter are completely charged. This is
a trickle charger so the batteries will not be
charging once the units are fully charged.
This will prevent overcharging of the batter-
ies and a longer battery life. Even though
it’s a trickle charge, it is still not recom-
mended to have charger plugged into the
amp/speaker or transmitter for more than
seven days. FOR REORDERING PURPOSES
THE CHARGER PART NO. IS PTLC-2.

1. CHARGE THE BATTERIES IN BOTH THE
TRANSMITTER AND THE AMPLIFIER/SPEAKER
UNTIL THE CHARGER READS READY.
To properly charge the batteries follow
these instructions:
A) Plug the charger power supply into an
electrical outlet.
B) Check and make sure the battery is
plugged into the amplifier/speaker.
C) Insert the 9-volt rechargeable battery
(included in the system) into the
transmitter.
D) Plug the charger end labeled AMPLIFIER/
SPEAKER into the amplifer/speaker
unit. The CHARGING light should
appear on the charger. The charging light
on the amplifier/speaker should light up
as well.
E) Plug the end labeled TRANSMITTER
into the transmitter.
F) Charge the batteries until the READY
light lights up. Unplug the transmitter
and the amplifier/speaker plugs. You can
leave the power supply plugged into the
electrical outlet. No harm can be done
with the charger plugged into electricity
and the ends exposed.
2. SET THE VOLUME CONTROL ON THE BACK
OF THE AMPLIFIER/SPEAKER TO NUMBER 4
(11 o’clock position). This is a good starting
volume.
3. SET THE AMPLIFIER/SPEAKER TO THE
LOCATION WHERE THE UNIT WILL BROAD-
CAST FROM.
4. TURN THE AMPLIFIER/SPEAKER UNIT ON.
The LED in the switch should light up.
5. INSERT THE PLUG FOR THE COLLAR MIC
INTO THE TRANSMITTER.
6. PLACE THE COLLAR MIC AROUND YOUR
NECK and adjust the microphone so that it is
no more than 3 inches from your mouth.
7. TURN THE TRANSMITTER SWITCH TO THE
ON POSITION. A soft, audible "pop" may be
heard through the speaker. This is normal.
Turn the transmitter off to save
battery power if the user is not going to
operate the system for more than 15
minutes. Turn the transmitter to STANDBY
if the user is going to operate the system
within a 15 minute time period but currently
does not want to broadcast.
8. THE USER SHOULD NOW BE BROAD-
CASTING. You can adjust the VOLUME
on the back of the amplifier/speaker to the
proper volume setting. At any time during
operation you can plug in an audio input such
as a compact disc player, tape deck, etc.

Troubleshooting Guide
Check the transmitter. Is the power indicator light, on top of the
transmitter GREEN? If there is no green light on
top of the transmitter, then the battery needs to be
recharged or replaced. If the light is RED, turn
the transmitter switch from STANDBY to ON.
Average battery life is six hours.
Check the amplifier/speaker. Is the light on the ON/OFF switch on the
amplifier/ speaker lighted? If this is not on then
check the following:
1) Is the switch in the upwards or ON position?
2) Is the battery plugged into the battery jack in
the back of the amplifier/speaker?
3) Has the battery been recharged more than 250
times or is it more than two years old? Typical
life of a battery is 250-500 recharges. There is a
number on the battery. The first number is the
month and the second number is the year the
battery was purchased. This will help determine
the life of the battery.
Check the charger. When charging the amplifier/speaker and the
transmitter, is the charging light lighted? If no
READY or CHARGING light is lighted check to
make sure both plugs are properly inserted into
the transmitter and amplifier/speaker AND make
sure the charger is plugged into electricity. The
power supply must be properly plugged in to charge.
Adjust the collar mic, headset mic or lapel mic... ...so that the collar or headset mic is no more than
3 inches from your lips OR the lapel mic is no
more than 6 inches from your lips. If more volume
is needed, increase the volume on the amplifier/
speaker or increase the volume with the gain
control on the transmitter.
Adjust or change the location... ...of the amplifier/speaker. Feedback is caused
with the human voice goes through a microphone,
through an amplifier/speaker, and back through
the microphone causing a loop.
Attempt to lower the gain control... ...on the transmitter and increase the gain on the
amplifier/speaker.

Call Lifeline Amplification Systems. A change in frequency may be needed.
Check the battery in the transmitter. Make sure the battery in the transmitter is fully charged.
Try a 9-volt Energizer or Duracell battery.
NEVER charge an Energizer or Duracell battery.
Check the microphone cable. Wiggle the microphone cable. If the unit cuts in and
out while this cable is being moved you need to
replace the cable.
