0.0 General
0.1 Introduction
These operating instructions describe the operation and maintenance of the appliance
and serve as an important source of information and reference. Knowledge of all the safety
instructions and handling instructions contained herein are a prerequisite for safe and
proper use of the appliance. In addition, the valid local rules for the prevention of acci-
dents and the general safety regulations for the area of application of the appliance must
be observed. The manufacturer has designed and built the appliance according to the
state of the art in terms of safety and under consideration of the rules and regulations ap-
plicable at the time of manufacture or market launching.
Since hazards for the user can never be totally ruled out when using technical appliances,
these instructions be especially helpful for safe and safety-conscious handling of the appli-
ance.
0.2 Target Group
These operating instructions and especially the safety instructions, must be observed by all
persons who work with the appliance.
0.3 Markings
These operating instructions make use of different text markings to identify important
safety notes and technical instructions.
The meaning of the used text markings is described and explained below.
These instructions must be followed to avoid accidents, injury and material damage.

Warning. This symbol indicates hazards that could lead to injuries.
Danger. This symbol indicates hazards from electrical current.
Note. Instructions marked by this symbol should be paid particular
attention.
Tip. This symbol gives the user information which must be observed
for efficient and trouble-free operation of the appliance.
Warning against hot surfaces to avoid burns.
All information and instructions in these operating instructions were compiled under con-
sideration of the valid regulations, the latest state of engineering development as well as
our long years of know-how and experience.
The actual scope of supply may deviate under certain circumstances in the case of special
models, inclusion of additional extras or due to the latest technical modifications.
The operating instructions must be read carefully before beginning work on and with the
appliance and especially before commissioning. The operating instructions are part of the
product and must be kept in the immediate vicinity of the appliance for operating,
maintenance and cleaning personnel.
0.4 Warranties
We offer a 24 month warranty on the appliance from the date of issue of the invoice or
delivery note. During this warranty period, all manufacturing defects and/or material de-
fects that occur will be regulated free of charge by repair and/or replacement of the defec-
tive parts or (at our discretion) by replacement of the appliance upon submission of the
invoice or delivery note. Prerequisite for such a warranty case is that the appliance has
been properly handled and cared for. All claims above and beyond our warranties are ex-
cluded. The warranty only covers repair of the appliance in justified cases. Any other claims
as well as liability for any consequential damages are expressly excluded.

No warranty can be granted:
for parts subject to natural wear and tear,
damages due to impact,
effects of moisture,
damage due to incorrect operation,
modification of functions,
removal, manipulation or bypassing of protective devices,
unauthorised modifications,
improper cleaning,
use of replacement parts not approved by the manufacturer,
unauthorised changes to the appliance,
operation when not in perfect technical condition.
Guarantee
We offer a 12 month guarantee on all parts. Work time, travel time and expenses are ex-
cluded.

contained therein are protected by copyright. Reproduction in any way or form – even in
part – as well as the use and/or disclosure of the contents are prohibited without the writ-

1.0 Safety
This section gives an overview of all the important safety aspects. The individual sections
additionally contain concrete safety instructions to avoid hazards which are identified by
symbols. In addition, pictograms, plates and labels on the appliance must be observed and
kept in a legible condition at all times.

1.1 General
The appliance is built according to the state of the art.
Nevertheless, the appliance could still cause dangers when used improperly or not for the
intended purpose. Knowledge of the contents of the operating instructions is a prerequi-
site to protect you from danger and to avoid errors and thus operate the appliance safely
and trouble-free.
1.2 Safety Instructions for Using the Appliance
The notes on work safety refer to the directives of the European Union valid at the time of
manufacture of the appliance. If the appliance is used commercially, the owner is obliged
to observe the latest safety regulations for the entire operating life of the appliance. The
work safety laws and regional regulations in force must be observed outside of the Euro-
pean Union. The general safety and accident prevention regulations as well as the valid
environmental protection regulations valid for the area of application of the appliance
must be observed in addition to the work safety notes in these operating instructions.
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with restrict-
ed physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and/or knowledge
unless they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety or have received
instructions from them on how to use the appliance.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
Keep the operating instructions in a safe place. If the appliance is passed on to a
third party, the operating instructions must be handed over with it.
All persons using the appliance must follow the operating instructions and observe
the safety notes.
The appliance may only be operated in closed rooms.

1.3 Use
The Hot Plate Smart is intended only for keeping prepared meals warm. Operational safety
of the appliance is only guaranteed when the operating instructions are followed.
Any other use than keeping prepared meals warm is prohibited.
The owner will be solely liable for any damages resulting from other uses.
The Hot Plate Smart is not intended for heating up prepared meals.
2.0 Transport
2.1 Transport Inspection
Check the delivery for completeness and transport damages immediately upon receipt.
In case of visible signs of damage, do not accept the delivery or only under reservation.
Record the scope of damage on the transport documents/delivery note of the shipping
agent and register a complaint. Report concealed defects as soon as they are discov-
ered because claims for damages can only be accepted within the valid period of no-
tice for complaints.
2.2 Packing
Do not throw away the box in which the appliance is delivered. You may need it for
storage, for moving or if you need to send the appliance to our service point in case of
any damage. Remove the outer and inner packing material completely from the appli-
ance before use.
If you want to dispose of the packing, observe the valid regulations in your country.
Hand over reusable packing materials for recycling.

2.3 Storage
Packages should be kept closed until installation and stored under observance of the
labels displayed on the outside. Only store the packages under the following condi-
tions:
Do not store outdoors
Store day and free from dust
Do not expose to aggressive media
Protect against direct sunlight
Avoid mechanical vibrations
During longer periods of storage (more than 3 months), check the general
condition of all parts and the packing regularly and refresh or renew if re-
quired.

4.0 Installation and Operation
4.1 Installation
The appliance is designed for installation in the Professional livecookintable. The segment
ridges must be inserted, set to the necessary spacing and tightened with the appropriate
clamping screws. Use the appliance handles to insert the appliance safely in the opening in
the table. The appliance may only be installed and connected to the mains according to
the installation instructions listed below.

Connected power: 1,100 W
Fusing: Automatic 16 A fuse
Order and execution of assembly according to the assembly diagrams.

Compare the technical data of the appliance with the data of the local power
supply mains before installation!
Only connect the appliance if the data match!
Observe the safety instructions!
A socket strip may only be connected to a properly installed single outlet with
a PE contact!
The appliance can cause injury if it is not installed properly!
Do not pull the plug out of the socket by tugging the cable!
The power cable may not come into contact with hot parts!
It must be installed in such a way as to ensure electrical touch protection!
4.2 Operation
The Hot Plate Smart is set and operated by the touch control panel mounted at the front.
The four buttons serve for setting, quick selection of preset values as well as parameterisa-
tion. The buttons may not be operated with sharp pointed objects.
Functions of the buttons and displays on the touch control panel of the thermostat con-
troller.

Increase nominal temperature setting by pressing
simultaneously (20°C -140°C).

As long as the Hot Plate Smart displays remaining heat above 40°C after switching off, the
temperature display of the touch control panel flashes.
Do not place meals directly on the surface. All meals should always be placed on the Hot
Plate Smart in appropriate vessels.
Do not use pots or pans with a bottom that has burred edges or is badly enamelled.
Do not use the appliance when it is not working properly, is damaged or has been
dropped onto the floor.
The hot plate area of the appliance gets very hot during operation. To avoid
burns, do not touch hot parts.
Never heat up meals or liquids in closed containers or bottles.
The Hot Plate Smart may not be used as a storage surface.
Accidental switching on or remaining heat can melt or set fire to objects
placed on it.
Only use heat-resistant cookware ( +140 ° C).
If the power is interrupted, the flashing signal disappears even if the Hot Plate
Smart is still hot.
Do not use accessories and spare parts which have not been recommended by
the manufacturer. These could pose a threat to the user or cause damage to
the appliance and injury to persons. The warranty will be voided.
Do not move or tilt the appliance during operation.

5.0 Cleaning and maintenance
5.1 Cleaning
Switch off the appliance before cleaning. Let the appliance cool down and disconnect
from the power outlet (pull out mains plug).
Only use a soft cloth or sponge, water and a cleaning or care agent suitable for glass ce-
ramic surfaces to clean the glass ceramic surface.
Only use a soft cloth or sponge, water and a suitable stainless steel cleaning or care agent
to clean the stainless steel parts.
Do not use aggressive cleaning agents and make sure that no water pene-
trates the appliance.
Do not use abrasives. These could scratch the surfaces of the Hot Plate Smart.
Do not clean the pactan joint between the frame and the glass ceramic with
pointed objects.
The appliance is not suitable for spraying down directly with a water jet. There-
fore do not use high-pressure water jets to clean this appliance.
Use a soft cloth to dry and polish the surface after cleaning.
5.2 Maintenance
Always check the power cable for damage before use. If the cable is damaged, it must be
replaced by an identical, undamaged cable (order through customer service or a qualified
electrician). In case of damages or malfunctions, contact your dealer or our customer ser-
vice.
Maintenance and repairs may only be carried out by qualified experts using genuine spare
parts and accessories.
Never use the appliance when the cable is damaged.

The problems mentioned are to be understood as examples for orientation. If these or
similar problems occur, switch the appliance off immediately and take it out of operation.
Contact qualified personnel or the manufacturer immediately.
6.0 Disposal
The old appliance is not worthless waste. The raw materials can be recycled when disposed
of properly. Disposal with normal household waste is not permitted. It must be disposed of
according to local waste disposal regulations (recycling of electrical and electronic appli-
ances).
It is recommended to contact a specialised disposal company or the local
waste disposal authorities.
Remove the power cable from the appliance.
Render your old appliance useless prior to disposal.
