About This Guide
This user guide describes the LiveU LU600 live video uplink system and provides basic
information for the operation of the unit in the field.
NOTES Advanced operations intended for technical personnel and system
administrators are outside of the scope of this user guide.
The guide contains the following chapters:
•Chapter 1, Introducing the LU600, page 12, introduces the LU600 Live Video
Uplink unit and describes its hardware components.
•Chapter 2, Quick Start, page 18, describes how to quickly get started using the
LU600, and describes the Home screen and its options.
•Chapter 3, Using the LU600, page 22, describes the functionality of the LU600
and its operation.
•Chapter 4, Advanced Configuration Settings, page 46, describes how to
configure advanced configuration settings on the LU600.
•Chapter 5, Store and Forward, page 50, describes Store & Forward mode, and its
operation on the LU600.
•Chapter 6, File Transfer (FTP), page 58, describes how to use the LU600 to
transfer files from the field directly back to the back office / studio.
•Chapter 7, Interrupted Feedback (IFB), page 63, describes the LU600’s IFB
feature and how to set it up. IFB provides a unidirectional audio channel from the
studio to LU600 unit operators in the field.

What’s New in Version 7.5.3
As of version 7.5.3, the following features and enhancements are now available:
•The ability to select an attached headset’s audio source (either IFB or Video Return)
•[For HEVC Card owners only] Select encoding for Store & Forward files: H.264 or
HEVC
•Speed Test – measure the total uplink speed from your unit to the output MMH
channel

Intended Audience
This user guide is intended to be used by operators of LiveU’s LU600 Live Video Uplink unit.
We assume that operators have basic computer knowledge and are familiar with any video
equipment being used (cameras, microphones and so on) and the networking infrastructure
to which these LU600 units are connected.
