BEFORE USING YOUR KETTLE
If you are using the kettle for the first time, it is recommended that you clean
your kettle before use by boiling the Maximum capacity of water once and then
discarding the water, repeat this step twice. Wipe the surface with a damp cloth
once cooled.
USING YOUR KETTLE:
1. Place the kettle on a flat surface.
2. To fill the kettle, remove it from the power base and remove the lid, then fill
the kettle with the desired amount of water and replace the lid. The water level
must be between the Min and the Max levels. Too little water will cause the
kettle to switch off automatically before the water has boiled or, will cause the
kettle to “dry boil” activating the overtemperature protective device.
NOTE: Do not fill the water over the maximum level, as water may spill out of
the spout when boiling. Ensure that the lid is firmly in place before plugging
into the power outlet.
3. Position the kettle on the power base.
4. Connect the plug into a power outlet. Press down the on/off (boil) switch and
the indicator will light up, the kettle will then start to heat the water. The kettle
will switch off automatically once the water has boiled. Please allow at least 30
seconds before pressing the switch again to re-boil the water. You may shut off
the power by lifting the switch up or directly lift the kettle from the power base
at any moment to stop the boiling process.
NOTE: Ensure that the switch is free of obstructions and the lid is firmly closed
during operation.
5. Lift the kettle from the power base and then pour the water.
NOTE: Operate carefully when pouring the water from your kettle as boiling
water may result in scalding. Do not open the lid while there is hot water in the
kettle.
6. The kettle will not re-boil until the switch is pressed again. The kettle may be
stored on the power base when not in use.
NOTE: Always disconnect the power supply when not in use.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
1. Be sure the product is turned OFF and DISCONNECTED from the power
socket outlet. Let the product cool after use and before cleaning.
2. Clean the exterior of the product by wiping with a slightly dampened (not
wet) soft cloth. Remove stubborn spots with a cloth moistened (not wet) with
soapy water or a mild, non- abrasive cleaner. Avoid the use of scouring pads,
harsh detergents, solvents, polish, abrasive or aerosol cleaners as they may
damage surfaces of the product. Dry with a clean, soft cloth before storage, or
reconnecting to the power outlet.
3. From time to time, depending on the nature of your water supply, you may
need to clean the inside of the kettle. This can be done in the following
manner:
REMOVAL OF MINERAL DEPOSITS
Your kettle should be periodically descaled as the mineral deposits in tap water
may form scales on the bottom of kettle which can result in reduced efficiency.
You can use a commercially available descaler and follow the instructions on
the descaler packaging. Alternatively, you may follow the instructions below
using white vinegar.
Fill the kettle with a 1:1 mixture of white vinegar and water to the full
mark. Leave the solution in the kettle overnight.
Then discard the mixture in the kettle, fill the kettle with clean water to
the maximum position, boil and then discard the water. Repeat several
times until the odour of the vinegar has been removed. Any stains
remaining inside the spout can be removed by rubbing with a damp
cloth.
WARNING: The use of descalers containing phosphoric acid, sulphamic acid,
or their equivalents must not be used as they may damage your kettle.
CLEANING THE SPOUT FILTER
The following steps can be applied only when the kettle is switched OFF,
removed from the power outlet and the kettle including water are cool.
1) Remove the lid and lift the filter out from its location in the spout inlet.
2) Wash the filter in warm soapy water. Rinse and dry with a clean, soft cloth.
3) Insert the filter back into the body making sure it is correctly located.
