Introduction
This manua contains technica documentation a owing easy insta ation and use of the
CAM-100 camera modu e designed for the RTCU X32 units. For information on the high-
eve programming of the CAM-100, p ease refer to the RTCU IDE documentation.
The CAM-100 extends the capabi ity of the RTCU p atform with the abi ity to take JPEG
compressed snapshots. Snapshots can be taken in four different reso utions.
A who e new range of app ications becomes avai ab e with CAM-100, such as:
• Remote monitoring of equipment, devices, work areas or ocations.
• Any triggered event app ication.
• Security app ication.
• “A picture is worth a thousand words…”
Snapshots taken can either be saved to a SD-CARD, which can be accessed remote y, or
it can be sent direct y over GPRS to a server.

Installation
MX2i Pro/Pro+ and DX4 Pro Connection
The CAM-100 is connected to seria port 1 (service port) on the RTCU MX2/DX4. For this
purpose a 3 meter cab e is de ivered, which a so a ows p acement of the CAM-100 away
from the RTCU X32 unit itse f.
Power supp y for the CAM-100 is contro ed by the RTCU X32i. This keeps the power
consumption kept at a minimum, on y turned on when taking snapshots.
AX9 Pro Connection
The CAM-100 is de ivered with the same 3 meter cab e as for MX2i and DX4, but there
isn’t a 6-po ed tyco connector for easy-to-p ug. The co or coded 4 cab es need to be
connected to the AX9 manua y. Cab es are co or coded, and these co ors wi be used in
the fo owing description:
As seen on the above picture, there are 4 signa s to be connected to the AX9 Pro. The
cab e co or and the signa name on the AX9 Pro is given in the fo owing tab e:
Co or Signa Name
B ack SGND
Ye ow SER1_RXD
B ue SER1_TXD
Red DCOUT33
Connect the 4 co ored cab es to their respective abe ed ang ed screw termina s as
mentioned in the above tab e. P ease refer to AX9 Pro Technica Manua to ocate the
termina s.

Bracket
The combination of the bracket and the way the CAM-100 is fastened to the bracket
makes it possib e to insta the CAM-100 so that any ang e can be achieved.
The meta bracket on y requires two screws for mounting the CAM-100 on a wa , cei ing or
anywhere e se the app ication requires.
When the bracket has been mounted in the correct p ace, p ace the CAM-100 and use the
two M3x6 screws to fasten the CAM-100.
Be ow, in Figure 3, the dimensions and guide ines of the bracket can be found.
