Let’s Get Started
Power
Turn the Fanfare on by pressing the Power button on the left end of the
control panel. The instrument will fully power up in just a few seconds.
Auto Power Off
The Fanfare is equipped with an energy-saving feature that shuts the power off automatically after 60
minutes of inactivity. To deactivate the feature...

Place your right foot on the Volume Pedal while playing. Moving
this pedal controls the overall volume level of the Fanfare.
- Pressing the pedal all the way down is maximum volume.
- Pressing the pedal all the way back is minimum volume.
The Volume Pedal allows the player to add expression (changes in the
volume level) to their music.

EY300 Fanfare
11
When the Volume Pedal volume level is
too loud, or too soft, use the Master
Volume control to decrease or increase the
volume level
- The top button increases the volume level.
- The bottom button decreases the volume level.
You may need to press either button several
times to reach the desired level.
- The volume level is illustrated by six
Green/Red LEDs.
All six lighted red indicates maximum volume.
Reverberation adds realism and resonance to the sound of the Fanfare. The Reverb level is preset
but may be adjusted using the Reverb buttons in the same fashion as the Master Volume buttons.
MCS
MCS - Music Chord System is Lowrey’s easy-play feature that makes
playing left hand chords easy. With MCS, you can play major chords
withjustonengerandobtainafull-sounding,musicallycorrectchord.
MCS also becomes active when you press EASY or select a Music
Style.
The Red, Blue, and Green Chord Lights above the left lower keyboard
are illuminated. These lights match the color-coded bars printed in the
music of your Lowrey Song book and in Lowrey Magic class books.
Red is for C, blue is for F, and green is for G chords. See page 25.
Memory
(Chord) Memory continues sounding the last MCS chord played, even after the key or keys have been
released. This feature frees your hand to turn a page of music or prepare for the next chord to be played.
Memory also becomes active when you press EASY or select a Music Style.
Auto Bass
Auto Bass is the feature that plays bass
along with you automatically, creating a full,
rich sound. Like MCS and Memory, Auto
Bass becomes active when you press EASY
or select a Music Style.

Lowrey Virtual Orchestra 12
- Press EASY or select a Music Style. The Auto Bass 1 indicator, located to the left of the lighted ABC’s

Pedal Magic

keyboard/left hand chord (MCS or conventional) play any pedal with your foot, in the tempo you desire.
- A long pedal will be the root note of your left hand chord.
- A short pedal will be the 5th of your left hand chord.
Try alternating between any long and short pedal in tempo with a Music Style.

EY300 Fanfare
13
When using Pedal Magic without a Music Style turn off EASY to silence the Auto Bass feature.
- There are two types of Pedal Magic: Long / Short and Get Close.

button panel, lights.

Get Close
- Press Pedal Magic again. The Get Close indicator will light.
- Play the bass pedals that are on or near the appropriate pedal.
You always sound good with Pedal Magic and Auto Bass
- For those wanting to learn to play the bass pedals this is a wonderful tool, and you always sound good.
- When using Pedal Magic, and Auto Bass is active...
- You can stop playing the pedals at any time and Auto Bass will begin to play for you again
(on the down beat of the measure). See page 24 Down Beat Indicator.
- Begin playing the pedals again and Pedal Magic takes over and Auto Bass becomes idle.
- When using Pedal Magic without a Music Style turn off EASY to silence the Auto Bass.
Keyboard Touch
Keyboard Touch enables you to select from among two settings for the keyboards.
- Keyboard Touch ON adds piano-like touch sensitivity. The harder you play a
key, the louder it sounds. The softer you play a key, the quieter it sounds.
- Keyboard Touch OFF adds constant velocity. Volume is controlled by the volume
pedal and is not affected by key touch.
Play
There are 20 songs in the Lowrey Song book (that is included with the purchase of the Fanfare) with
color-coded MCS chord bars. Your right hand plays the ABC’s and your left plays the color-coded chords.

Lowrey Virtual Orchestra 14
ABC’s and Color-Coded Chords are used throughout Lowrey Magic, a leading recreational music
making class, which focuses on providing a unique and accessible opportunity for each person to become
musical in their own way rather than emphasizing the conventional method of musical competition and
performance.
