Operating instructions
Using the breadmaker
1. Take the bread pan out of the breadmaker and attach the kneading
blade onto its rotation axis, making sure it is properly aligned on the
semicircle shaped axis. (Use the cake tin and mixing blade for cakes.)
2. Add the ingredients (at room temperature) into the bread pan in the
order they are listed in the recipe (recipes start on page 18). Start
with liquid ingredients, then fat/oil, dry ingredients and yeast at last.
Add any extra ingredients such as fruit or nuts into the chute on top
of the machine. They will be added automatically during the process.
NOTE: If you set the delay timer, make sure the yeast is on top of
the flour so it does not get mixed with water, salt or sugar,
otherwise the yeast activity will be affected.
3. Holding the pan by the handle, line it up with the connection on the
base and insert it into the breadmaker, pushing it down by the rim
until it snaps securely into place. Fold down the handle and close the
lid.
4. When the power is on, the LCD screen will display the default setting:
MENU 1, TIMER 3:25, MEDIUM colour, 1kg loaf size. Press the
MENU button repeatedly until your chosen program is displayed; it
will cycle through all 11 options.
5. After you have selected a program, press the COLOUR button to select
a level of browning (choose from LIGHT, MEDIUM, DARK or RAPID)
and the LOAF button to select size (choose from 500g, 750g or 1kg).
6. Press the START/STOP button for the program to start or, if you want
to delay the start of the program, press the up or down arrow buttons
to delay the starting time in 10 minute increments. The LCD will then
indicate that the timer is on.

Operating instructions (continued)
NOTE: If you want to change any of the current settings, press
and hold the START/STOP button for a few seconds and the
program will stop. You may then change the options.
7. When the program is finished and the LCD displays 0:00, the
breadmaker will buzz 10 times and then start the KEEP WARM cycle
and “:” will blink (except in the dough program).
8. After one hour on WARM, the bread maker will buzz once and “:” will
stop blinking and return the initial status. Press and hold the START/
STOP button for one second to stop the warming process and it will
return to the intial status.
NOTE: You cannot increase or decrease the automatic program times.
If you wish to increase the baking time, you will need to wait
for the process to finish and then select the BAKE program
(No 10) for additional baking time.
9. Make sure to wear oven mitts when opening the breadmaker and
removing the pan.
10. After the bread has cooled down, turn the bread pan upside down and
shake it to release the bread. Be sure to remove the kneading blade
from the bread.
NOTE: If you want to take out the bread before the end of the process,
press START/STOP for a few seconds to stop the machine first.

Making a dough only (program 7)
Use the dough making function to knead dough that you do not want to
bake straightaway in the breadmaker, but in an oven, for example. The
dough making process is similar to that of other programs, only that the
dough will not get baked afterwards. When the buzzer sounds five times,
the dough is ready.
Baking bread/cake only (program 10)
This program is used for baking bread (or cake) that has already been
combined and kneaded manually, or elsewhere. The baking time for this
program is one hour. To bake a ready prepared dough, follow the steps
below:
1. Place the bread pan or cake tin into the bread maker, as per the
instructions on page 9.
2. Prepare your bread or cake dough and carefully place it into the bread
pan or cake tin. Close the lid.
3. Press the MENU button on the control panel until the LCD displays
program number 10: BAKE.
4. Press the START/STOP button to start baking the bread/cake.
5. When the display shows 0:00, the baking process is finished. The
buzzer will sound 10 times.
6. Press the START/STOP button for a few seconds to stop the machine
or it will automatically start the KEEP WARM cycle.
NOTE: If the bread/cake is cooked before the program has finished, you
can press the STOP/START button for a few seconds to stop the
baking process.
NOTE: For best baking results, place your ingredients evenly and leave a
little space in between them.

Special functions
Keep warm function
The breadmaker has a convenient keep warm function. At the end of the
bread or cake making process (in most programs), the breadmaker will
automatically go into keep warm mode, so you do not need to take out the
food straight away. At the end of the warm keeping cycle, the buzzer will
sound five times every five minutes. The program specification charts (on
pages 14-17) list which programs include the keep warm cycle.
Buzzer prompts
• When you press the START/STOP button, or any other button during
normal operation, the breadmaker will emit one short buzz.
• When you hear the buzzer sound eight times during the bread
making process, the extra ingredients such as fruit and nuts will be
released from the chute.
• At the end of the baking process, the buzzer will sound 10 times
before the machine starts the keep warm cycle.
• At the end of the keep warm cycle, the machine will buzz five times
every five minutes.
Power failure memory
This bread maker has a power failure memory function. In case of a
power failure (lasting less than seven minutes) during the bread making
process, the breadmaker will memorise its current status and start again
without you having to reset anything. However, the total working time
may be changed slightly. The actual time it takes for the program to
complete will now be the originally set time plus the time of the power
failure.
If the power is off for longer, the bread maker may not retain its memory
and you may have to reset it.

Special functions (continued)
Alarm and error messages
The breadmaker has various automatic alarm functions that stop the
machine and alert you when something is wrong. In that case, a buzzer
will usually emit a few short beeps and an error message will display on
the screen. See the table below for common error messages and possible
solutions for the problem.
If the solutions suggested below do not remedy the problem, contact the
after sales support line for advice.
