1 Introduction
The C1 Classic Compact is a Single-Chip-Videocamera System. It con-
sists of the camera head with focusing to be adapted to an endoscope and
a smartbox with separate power supply.
The camera system has been developed for use in the medical- (endosco-
py) and industrial field (endoscopy, laboratory diagnostic, non destructive
testing (NDT)).
Attention: The instruction manual gives sound information about the cor-
rect use and possible applications of the system. Therefore the
instructions manual should always stay with the camera.
All persons who are handling those units should have read the
instruction carefully. The use of the units is only allowed after
studying the manual.
The instruction manual contains important information which is
needed to ensure a safe, a correct and an economic operation
of these units.
Future technical changes are reserved to be changed compared
to current pictures.

Die LUT GmbH gewährt 12 Monate Garantie auf die Funktion des Kamera-
systems.
Die Gültigkeitsdauer dieser Garantie ist beschränkt auf Ansprüche, die
innerhalb der genannten Garantiefrist nach Kaufdatum des
Kamerasystems, ggf. mit Bezug auf Reparaturen unter Angabe der
Rechnungsnummer, vorgebracht werden.
Diese Garantie bezieht sich nur auf Defekte, die nicht auf normale
Abnutzung, Missbrauch, falsche Handhabung, mangelnde oder falsche
Aufbereitung oder höhere Gewalt zurückzuführen sind.
In Wartungs- oder Reparaturfällen wenden Sie sich bitte an den LUT -
Service oder einen autorisierten Reparatur-Fachbetrieb:

4 CE - Label
The CE-label certifies that the product corresponds to the EMC regulations
89/336/EEC respectively EMC law and the directive 73/23/EEC. With
regard to medical devices the CE-label certifies, that the product corre-
sponds to the Medical Device Directive 93/42/EEC respectively to the
Medical Device Law.
5 Important Hints
Set-up the unit in such a way that sufficient air flow is guaranteed. The
average surround temperature should not exceed 40 °C.
Never use the unit with dismantled housing.
The operating quality of the system is depending on electromagnetic har-
monisation of the peripheral units such as monitor, printer, recorder etc..
Electromagnetical disharmony could cause stripes or color changements on
the monitor.
All additional and/or peripherical systems or units which are connected to
the camera system units have to correspond to EN specifications (e.g. EN
60950 or EN 60601). Furthermore they have to cover the EN 60601-1-1
norming. The person who installs additional systems is configurating a
system for which this person is responsible. In case of questions please
contact your local dealer or our technical customer service.
Only a power supply with certification for medical use has to be
used.
6 Intended Use and Operation
6.1 Indications for use C1 Classic Compact
The C1 Classic Compact has been designed for use in endoscopy. It is
preferably used with rigid or flexible endoscopes. Light sources developed
and manufactured by us are available as accessories for the Compact
Camera.
The camera offers the possibility of electronic image brightening for areas,
which are particularly difficult to illuminate.
For the prime use with fiberscopes, a version with integrated Anti-Moiree
filter is available. This filter eliminates the interfering Moiree effect.

Reinigung der Smartbox
Alle Außenflächen der Smartbox können mit einem weichen Tuch abgewischt
werden, das mit Wasser, milder Seifenlösung oder Isopropanol leicht ange-
feuchtet wurde. Schwierig zu entfernende oder unansehnliche Flecken kön-
nen mit einem milden Reiniger auf Ammoniakbasis entfernt werden.
Verwenden Sie keine Scheuer- oder Lösungsmittel, da diese die Kunst-
stoffoberfläche der Smartbox beschädigen könnten. Verwenden Sie keine
nassen Schwämme oder Tücher, da überschüssige Reinigungslösung mit
elektrischen Teilen in Kontakt geraten könnte.
10.2 Desinfektion
Die Smartbox ist konstruktiv ausschließlich zur Wischdesinfektion geeignet.
Keinesfalls darf das Gerät in Flüssigkeit getaucht werden. Der Kamerakopf ist
flüssigkeitsdicht ausgeführt. Der Anschlussstecker des Kamerakopfes darf
nicht mit Flüssigkeit in Berührung kommen.
Prinzipiell ist die Benutzung von Einmal-Sterilüberzügen zur sterilen Ab-
deckung von Kamerakopf und -kabel zu empfehlen.
10.2.1 Flüssigdesinfektion des Kamerakopfes
Legen Sie Kamerakopf und -kabel ohne Stecker (Stecker darf
nicht eingelegt sein) in eine Desinfektionslösung ein. Befolgen
Sie die Empfehlungen des Desinfektionsmittelherstellers bezüglich
Konzentration und Zeit. Ein über die Empfehlung hinaus gehendes
Einlegen erzielt keine verbesserte Desinfektion.
Spülen Sie anschließend Kamerakopf und -kabel ab, wischen Sie nach und
trocknen Sie alle Außenflächen sorgfältig ab.
10.3 Sterilisation
Die Smartbox kann nicht sterilisiert werden. Der Kamerakopf ist nicht zur
Sterilisation durch ETO geeignet.
Dampfautoklavieren zerstört den Kamerakopf.
11 Wartung
Die Kamera bedarf keiner regelmäßigen Wartung.

6.2 Mode of operation
The area of intrest, the operation area is picked up optically via the endo-
scope, displayed via the endocoupler onto the CCD sensor and then
converted and amplified into electrical signals. The image brightness is
automatically controlled according to the light intensity („autoshutter“).
Camera signals are supplied to the smartbox via a camera cable and are furt-
her amplified for monitor display.
The video signal processed in this way is subsequently applied to the CCD
camera controller output socket for monitor, video recorder, video printer
and PC-connection use.
7 Possible Combinations
7.1 Endoscopes
All endoscopes with ACM-compatible eyepieces can be adapted to the
camera head. Depending on the type of your Compact camera it is especi-
ally applicable with image bundle endoscopes by the use of an anti-moiré-
filter.
7.2 Video accessories
Peripherals (monitor, printer, recorder, PC, video still storage) which corre-
spond to the video standards PAL or NTSC (depending on the camera
module) and which can analyze the signals S-VHS or VHS can be connec-
ted to the smartbox.
8 Safety Notes
It is in no case allowed that the unit is used in explosive environ-
ment. Please make sure that the units are only used in dripping
water proofed areas. Never dip the smartbox in liquids.
Routinely inspect all electrical connections. Defects like loose
plugs, defec-tive camera cables or others are interfering safety
and image quality and have to be eliminated immediately. The
units are only allowed to be used in technical unobjectionable con-
dition for the defined purpose according the instruction manual.

Window-Funktion
Über die Kombi-Taste (13) am Kamerakopf kann auch ein voreingestelltes
Fenster angewählt werden. Nur der Teil des Kamerachips der Bildinforma-
tionen enthält, wird zur Steuerung der Empfindlichkeit herangezogen. Über
diese Funktion können schwarze Ränder von z.B. dünnen Optiken mit klei-
nen Arbeitsdurchmessern für die Berechnung ausgeblendet und somit die
Bilder optimiert werden.
Die Window-Funktion ist in der Fabrikeinstellung nicht aktiviert. Durch lan-
ges Drücken (min. 5 Sek.) der Taste 13 wird die Window-Funktion aktiviert.
Dies ist dadurch zu erkennen, dass bei Verwendung von dünnen Endosko-
pen das Bild nun ohne Helligkeitsartefakte dargestellt wird. Zum Aus-
schalten der Funktion drücken Sie erneut die Taste 13 (min. 5 Sek.).
Auslösen von Print/Freeze/Speicher
Über die Taste 14 kann je nach Version der Smartbox eine entsprechende
Funktion ausgelöst werden.
Smartbox-Video-Version:
Über den Chinch-Stecker (3) kann extern ein Videoprinter angeschlossen
werden. Auslösen des Videoprints über Taste 14 möglich.
Smartbox-Freeze-Version:
Über den Klinkenstecker (4) wird der im Lieferumfang enthaltene Fuß-
schalter angeschlossen. Über die Taste 14 oder über den Fußschalter kann
die Freeze- Funktion ausgelöst werden.
Smartbox-USB-Version:
Durch Betätigen der Taste 14 wird das Speichern eines Bildes innerhalb der
Bildbearbeitungssoftware (s. 9.2.4) ausgelöst.
10 Reinigung, Desinfektion und Sterilisation
10.1 Reinigung
Reinigung des Kamerakopfes
Reinigen Sie den Kamerakopf und das Kamerakabel mit einer Seifenlösung.
Spülen Sie gründlich mit klarem Leitungswasser ab. Der Anschlussstecker
des Kamerakopfes darf nicht mit Flüssigkeit in Berührung kommen.

9 Installation and Connection
9.1 Installation instructions
When the unit is installed and operated, it must be ensured that:
• The electrical installations are designed in accordance with the
national regulations and
• the national regulations on fire and explosion protection are
observed.
9.2 Preparations for use
Preparation for use includes:
1Transporting the system to the operating room
2Inspecting the system for working integrity
3Setting-up signal configuration for Composite Video or S-VHS
depending on to be used peripherals.
4Preparing PC for receiving video signals by USB 2.0 port
9.2.1 Transporting the system to the operating room
The smartbox of the Single-Chip Video Endoscopy Camera System is nor-
mally housed on the video endoscopy cart with the monitor and light sour-
ce. Placement of the cart and system in adequate proximity to the patient
is important in order to utilize the maximal camera cable working length.

Die Geräte einschalten
• Drücken Sie den EIN-Schalter (grüne Anzeige leuchtet).
• Schalten Sie den Monitor ein.
Das Endoskop anschließen
• Spreizen Sie die Verriegelung des Adapters, indem Sie beide Hebel zuein-
ander drücken.
• Setzen Sie das Endoskop ein und lassen Sie die Hebel los.
• Prüfen Sie den korrekten Sitz, indem Sie das Endoskop drehen. Bei
Bedarf kann ein Verdrehen des Endoskopes durch Einschrauben der
Verriegelung vermieden werden.
C-Mount Anschluss
• Um die Kamera direkt an ein C-Mount Endoskop oder Ähnliches anzu-
schließen drehen Sie den Fokussierkopf der Kamera ab und schließen
durch Aufdrehen des Endoskopes den Kamerakopf an.
Den Lichtleiter anschließen
• Schließen Sie das Glasfaserkabel an das Endoskop an und schalten Sie
die Lichtquelle bei niedriger Lichtintensität ein.
Das Bild scharf stellen
• Stellen Sie das Bild scharf, indem Sie den Einstellring der Fokussierung (12)
drehen.
Moiree-Effekt minimieren bei Anschluss von Fiberskopen
• Bei der Anti-Moiree-Variante der Compact Kamera zuerst an Fokussierung
(12) ohne Fiberskope die Abbildung eines ca. 3 m enfernten Gegenstan-
des scharf einstellen. Danach Fiberskope mit Fokussierung verbinden,
Fiberskope selbst fokussieren und durch Verdrehen des Endoskopes rela-
tiv zur Fokussiereinheit die Abbildung optimieren.
Den Weißabgleich einstellen
Gehen Sie wie folgt vor, um den Weißabgleich für das Kamerasystem durch-
zuführen:
• Richten Sie das Endoskop auf ein weißes Objekt, z.B. ein Steriltuch.
• Drücken Sie die Kombi-Taste (13) am Kamerakopf kurz (ca. 1-2 Sek.)
und halten das Endoskop auf das weiße Objekt gerichtet. Das Bild wird
nun reinweiß wiedergegeben. Dieses Verfahren gewährleistet die getreue
Wiedergabe aller Farben.

9.2.3 Inspecting the system for working integrity
All components of the camera system must be present and in working
order:
Camera head
The front and rear windows of the camera head should also be kept free of
debris and can be cleaned with 70 % isopropyl alcohol if necessary. The
camera cable must be inspected for cracks or areas of separation. Cracks
or separation can occur with misuse or in the event the cable is run over
by other operation room equipment. Check the focusing ring to make sure
the ring moves tightly but smoothly.
9.2.2 Fixing the smartbox
There is the possibility to put the smartbox directly onto a panel of the cart
or to fix it by screws with the help of the included fixture (see drawing).

9.3 Einrichtung und Gebrauch am Einsatzort (z. B. OP)
Netzkabel anschließen
Verbinden Sie die Anschlussbuchse Netzteil auf der Rückseite der Smart-
box mit dem Netzteilmodul.
Stecken Sie den Stecker der Anschlussleitung des Netzteilmoduls in eine
Steckdose. Stellen Sie sicher, dass die elektrische Installation den auf dem
Netzteilmodul aufgeführten technischen Anforderungen genügt.
Videoanschlüsse
Verwenden Sie die USB 2.0, BNC- und S-VHS-Anschlüsse wie in den Abbil-
dungen gezeigt.
An die analogen und digitalen Schnittstellen angeschlossene
Geräte müssen nachweislich die entsprechenden EN-Normen
erfüllen (z.B. EN 60950 für Datenverarbeitungsgeräte und EN
60601 für medizinische elektrische Geräte).
Ferner müssen alle Konfigurationen die Systemnorm IEC 601-1-1/
EN 60601-1-1 erfüllen. Die Person, die zusätzliche Geräte an das
Signaleingangs- und -ausgangsgerät anschließt, ist verantwortlich
für die Konfiguration und muss sicherstellen, dass die Systemnorm
IEC 601-1-1/EN 60601-1-1 oder entsprechende nationale Normen
erfüllt werden.
Sollten Sie hierzu Fragen haben wenden Sie sich bitte an den LUT-Kunden-
dienst.
Verbinden Sie den Kamerastecker am Kamerakabel mit der Kamerabuchse
auf der Frontplatte der Smartbox. Der Stecker darf keine Feuchtigkeit auf-
weisen. Stellen Sie sicher, dass das Kamerakabel eingesteckt ist, bevor die
Einheit eingeschaltet wird. Ziehen Sie den Stecker nicht, während die
Einheit eingeschaltet ist.
Die Kamera auf das Sterilfeld stellen
(im Falle des medizinischen Einsatzes)
Legen Sie den Kamerakopf auf das Sterilfeld. Beachten Sie, dass der
Kamerakopf und das Kamerakabel ordnungsgemäß sterilisiert wurden und
bedienen Sie sich aseptischer Standardvorgehensweisen. Wenn der Kamera-
kopf gemäß den Krankenhausvorschriften in einem Sterilbeutel unterge-
bracht werden muss (Sterilisation durch Etylenoxid statt durch Einlegen in
Lösung), muss dies geschehen, bevor der Kamerakopf und das Endo-
objektiv auf das Sterilfeld gestellt werden.

9.2.4 Preparing a PC for receiving video signals by USB 2.0 port
(only digital version)
Using the smartbox with digital signal output
Before of the first connection of the smartbox to the PC the drivers and
application software has to be installed. Follow to the instructions of the
included installation manual (installation of the driver).
Properties needed of the PC
• USB 2.0 port
• CPU >2 GHz
• RAM >256 MB
• Windows 2000 or XP
9.3 Surgical set-up and operation at site of use
(e. g. operating room)
Connecting the power cord
Attach the female end of „Hospital Grade“ power cord into the mains sok-
ket of the power supply module.
Insert the male end of power cord into a standard outlet. Make sure the
power requirements listed on the power supply module are consistent with
outlet voltages.

Smartbox
Vergewissern Sie sich, dass die Smartbox weder äußere Schäden noch
Anzeichen von Stößen oder Gewalteinwirkung aufweist.
Netzkabel mit Netzteil
Überprüfen Sie das Netzkabel bzw. Netzteil auf mögliche Defekte durch
Brüche, Knicke oder Verdrehungen.
Sterilüberzüge (falls verwendet)
Alle Pakete müssen vor der Benutzung im OP ungeöffnet sein, dürfen keine
Risse aufweisen und nicht mit Lösung getränkt werden.
Videokabel und USB 2.0- Kabel
Überprüfen Sie die Videokabel auf mögliche Defekte durch Brüche, Knicke
oder Verdrehungen.
Erforderliches Zubehör

9.2.4 Vorbereitung eines PC`s zum Empfang von Videosignalen

Bei Verwendung der digitalen Smartbox müssen vor dem erstmaligen An-
schluss der Smartbox an den PC die Treiberdateien und entsprechende
Anwendungssoftware installiert werden.
Verfahren Sie dazu entsprechend den Anweisungen des beigefügten
Installations-Manuals (Treiberinstallation).

Video connection
Connect the USB 2.0, BNC or S-VHS.
Auxiliary Equipment which is connected to the analog and digital
interfaces of the unit must fulfill their appropriate EN specifications
(e. g. EN60950 for data processing units and EN60601 for electro-
medical units).
Furthermore, all configurations must comply with the system stan-
dard IEC 601-1-1/EN 60601-1-1 or equivalent national standards.
Whoever connects additional units to the signal input and output
device is the system configurer and is thus responsible for ensu-
ring that the system standard IEC 601-1-1/EN 60601-1-1 or equi-
valent national standards are complied with.

Insert the connector of the camera head cable (male end) into the smart-
box socket. Be sure the connector is free of moisture. Make sure that the
camera cable is inserted before switching on the unit. Do not pull out the
connector while the unit is switched on.
Placing the camera onto sterile field (in case of medical use)
Place the camera head onto the sterile field. This should be done under
standard aseptic technique, taking into consideration that the camera head
and -cable have been properly sterilized. If hospital protocol requires pla-
cing the camera in a sterile bag (sterilization by ETO instead of soaking),
do so before placing the camera and coupler in the sterile field.
Switching on the units
• Press the ON/OFF switch (ON = green indicated)
• Switch on the monitor
Attaching the endoscope
• Spread the holding claws of the endocoupler by pressing both
pushbuttons simultaneously.
• Insert the scope eyepiece and release the pushbuttons.
• Check the correct connection by turning the endoscope.
If needed, the scope can be fixed against rotation by screwing in the
six edged fixation screw.
C-Mount connection
• To connect the camera directly to a c-mount endoscope or a similar divice
unscrew the focussing head of the camera and connect the endoscope to
the camera head by screwing.

9.2.2 Befestigung der Smartbox
Sie haben die Möglichkeit die Smartbox entweder mittels der Gummifüße
auf eine ebene Fläche zu stellen oder mit der beigefügten Smartbox-
halterung an eine ebene Fläche zu verschrauben (siehe Abbildung).
9.2.3 Prüfung der Betriebsbereitschaft
Die Komponenten des Kamerasystems sollten vorhanden und betriebsbereit
sein:
Kamerakopf
Das Frontglas des Kamerakopfes muss schmutzfrei gehalten werden und
kann bei Bedarf mit Isopropanol (70 %) gereinigt werden. Prüfen Sie das
Kamerakabel auf Kabelbrüche oder getrennte Kontakte. Diese können
durch unsachgemäße Verwendung oder Überfahren mit anderen OP-
Geräten auf Rollen entstehen. Prüfen Sie den Einstellring für die
Fokussierung. Er sollte eng sitzen und sich drehen lassen, ohne zu haken.

Connecting the light guide
• Attach the fiberoptic cable to the endoscope and turn-on the light source
with light intensity at low.
Focusing the image
• To focus the image, turn the optical focusing ring (12) on the camera head.
Minimizing the Moiree effect using fiberscopes
• Applying the Anti-Moiree version of the Compact Camera first adjust
focus ring (12) without fiberscope to get a sharpe picture of an object in
a distance of about 3 m. Then connect fiberscope with focus ring, focus
the fiberscope and turn fiberscope relatively to focus ring in order to opti-
mize the picture.
White balance
• In order to white balance the camera system, aim the endoscope at a
white object, such as a sterile gauze.
• Press combination button (13) at camera head for a short time (approx.
1- 2 sec.) and hold the endoscope focused to the white object. The image
will change to an accurate white. This procedure will allow the camera to
reproduce all colors naturally.

9 Inbetriebnahme
9.1 Hinweise für Installation und Gebrauch
Vor der Installation und dem Gebrauch muss sichergestellt werden, dass:
• die elektrische Installation den geltenden technischen
Vorschriften entspricht und
• die geltenden Vorschriften für den Brand- und Explosionsschutz
eingehalten werden.
9.2 Betriebsvorbereitung
Vor dem Betrieb sind folgende Schritte durchzuführen:
1Transport des Systems in den OP
2Prüfung der Betriebsbereitschaft
3Videokonfiguration (VHS, S-VHS; Konfiguration abhängig von
Peripheriegeräten)
4Vorbereiten des PC's zum Empfang von Videosignalen über
USB 2.0 Anschluss
9.2.1 Transport des Systems in den OP
Das Single-Chip -Videokamerasystem für Videoendoskopie wird gemein-
sam mit dem Monitor und der Lichtquelle auf einem Videoendosko-
piewagen transportiert. Um die Kabellänge zwischen Kamerakopf und
Steuereinheit optimal ausnutzen zu können, sollte der Wagen mit dem
System möglichst nahe bei dem Patienten positioniert werden.

Window function
With the combination button (13) at the camera head also a preselected
window can be activated. Only the part of the camera chip, which contains
image informations, is used for controlling the sensitiveness. With help of
this function, black margins of e. g. thin optics with small working diame-
ters can be faded out for the calculation. Doing this, the images can be
optimized.
The window function is not activated previously:
Pressing the pushbutton 13 for at least 5 sec. is activating the window func-
tion. You will recognize it that using thin endoscopes don`t build artefacts
in the image. For switching off the function press pushbutton 13 again for
minimum 5 sec.
Activating the print/freezer/memory
With button 14 functions can be activated depending on the version of the
smartbox.
Smartbox-Video-Version:
With the chinch plug (3) a video printer can be connected externally. The
video print can be activated with button 14.
Smartbox-Freeze-Version:
With the stereo pin (4) the foot switch included in the delivery is connected.
With button 14 or the foot switch the freeze function can be activated.
Smartbox-USB-Version:
Button 14 activates the memory of an image within the image editing soft-
ware (s. 9.2.4).
10 Cleaning, Disinfection and Sterilization
10.1 Cleaning
Cleaning of the camera head
Clean the camera head and the camera cable without plug (the plug is
not allowed to encounter liquids) with a soap suds. Do only rince with
pure tap water.
Cleaning of the smartbox
All exterior surfaces of the smartbox can be wiped by a soft cloth which
has been moistened with water, a soft soap suds or isopropyl. Hardly remo-
vable or unsightly stains can be removed by a soft cleaner of ammoniac basis.
Do not use scouring agents or solvents, as they could damage the plastic
surface of the smartbox. Do either not use wet sponges or cloths as sur-
plus liquids could get in the electrical parts.

6.2 Funktionsweise
Das Bild des Operationsfeldes wird vom Endoskop optisch erfasst, durch
das Endoobjektiv auf den CCD-Sensor gelenkt, in elektrische Signale
gewandelt und verstärkt.
Die Bildhelligkeit wird abhängig von der Lichtintensität automatisch gere-
gelt (Autoshutter). Die Bildsignale werden über das Kamerakabel zur
Smartbox übertragen und zur Wiedergabe auf dem Monitor weiter verar-
beitet.
Das verarbeitete Videosignal kann dann an den Kameraausgängen für Mo-
nitor, Videorekorder, Videodrucker oder PC-Anschluss abgenommen werden.
7 Kombinationsmöglichkeiten
7.1 Endoskope
Zur Adaption an den Kamerakopf sind alle Endoskope mit ACM-kompati-
blem Augenokular geeignet. Abhängig von der Variante Ihrer Compact
Kamera ist diese, durch die Verwendung eines Anti-Moiré-Filters, beson-
ders für den Einsatz mit Bildbündelendoskopen geeignet.
7.2 Videozubehör
An die Ausgänge der Smartbox können Peripheriegeräte (Monitor, Drucker,
Rekorder, PC, Video-Still-Speicher) angeschlossen werden, die den Video-
standards PAL oder NTSC (abhängig vom Kameramodell) entsprechen und
das Signal S-VHS oder VHS auswerten können.
8 Sicherheitshinweise
Die Geräte dürfen nicht in explosionsgefährdeten Umgebungen
betrieben werden. Auf tropf- und spritzwassergeschützte Geräte
aufstellung achten. Die Smartbox nicht in Flüssigkeiten tauchen.
Die elektrische Ausstattung ist regelmäßig zu überprüfen. Defekte
sowie lose Verbindungen, angescheuerte Kabel und andere
Störungen, die die Sicherheit beeinträchtigen können, müssen
sofort beseitigt werden. Die Geräte dürfen nur in technisch ein-
wandfreiem Zustand und zum bestimmungsgemäßen Gebrauch
unter Beachtung der GA benutzt werden.

10.2 Disinfection
The smartbox is constructively only suitable to be disinfected by wiping.
The unit is not allowed to be inserted in liquids. The camera head is
watertight. The plug of the camera head is not allowed to encounter
liquids.
Generally, we recommend using sterile drapes for single use for the steri-
le covering of camera head and camera cable.
10.2.1 Disinfecting the camera head with liquids
Insert the camera head and cable without plug in a disinfectant
(connector may not enter disinfectant). Please follow the
recommendations of the manufacturer of the disinfectant regarding
concentration of the liquid and disinfecting time. Inserting the
camera head for more than the recommended time will not impro-
ve the result of the disinfection.
After disinfecting, rinse the camera head and cable, then wipe them with
a cloth and dry the exterior surfaces carefully.
10.3 Sterilization
The smartbox is not allowed to be sterilized. The camera head is not
suitable for sterilization with ETO.
Steam autoclavation destroys the camera head.
11 Maintenance
The camera does not have to be maintained regularly.

4 CE-Kennzeichnung
Durch die CE-Kennzeichnung wird die Übereinstimmung des Gerätes mit
der Richtlinie 89/336/EWG (EMV-Richtlinie) bzw. dem EMV-Gesetz und der
Richtlinie 73/23/EWG (Niederspannungsrichtlinie) bestätigt. Für Medizin-
produkte wird die Übereinstimmung des Gerätes mit der Richtlinie
93/42/EWG Medizinprodukterichtlinie bzw. dem Medizinproduktegesetz
(MPG) bestätigt.
5 Wichtige Hinweise
Die Geräte so aufstellen, dass eine ausreichende Belüftung gewährleistet
ist. Max. Umgebungstemperatur + 40 °C.
Die Geräte dürfen nur in geschlossenem Zustand betrieben werden.
Die Betriebsqualität ist durch die Verbindung mit Peripheriegeräten (z.B.
Monitor, Videogerät) abhängig von der elektromagnetischen Störaussen-
dung dieser Geräte. In extremen elektromagnetischen Störfeldern kann
daher die Betriebsqualität z.B. in Form von leichter Streifenbildung oder
leichten Farbverschiebungen am Monitorbild beeinflusst werden.
Zusatzausrüstungen und/oder Peripheriegeräte, die an die Schnittstellen
des Gerätes angeschlossen werden, müssen nachweisbar ihren entspre-
chenden EN Spezifikationen, (z.B. EN 60950 oder EN 60601) genügen.
Weiterhin müssen alle Konfigurationen der Systemnorm EN 60601-1-1
genügen. Wer zusätzliche Geräte anschließt, ist Systemkonfigurierer und
damit verantwortlich, dass die Systemnorm EN 60601-1-1 eingehalten
wird. Bei Rückfragen kontaktieren Sie bitte Ihren Fachhändler oder techni-
schen Dienst.
Zum Anschluss an die Netzversorgung darf nur ein Netzteil mit
Zulassung für den Gebrauch mit medizinisch genutzen Geräten
verwendet werden.
6 Verwendungszweck und Funktionsweise
6.1 Verwendungszweck C1 Classic Compact
Die C1 Classic Compact wurde als Kamerasystem für den Einsatz in der
Endoskopie entwickelt, vorzugsweise mit starren und flexiblen Endosko-
pen. Wir bieten für die Kamera Lichtquellen aus eigener Entwicklung und
Produktion an.
Für besonders schwierig zu beleuchtende Bereiche verfügt die Kamera
über die Möglichkeit der elektronischen Bildaufhellung. Für den primären
Einsatz mit Fiberskopen existiert eine Variante mit eingebautem Anti-
Moiree Filter. Dieser eliminiert den störenden Moiree Effekt.

1. Einleitung
Die C1 Classic Compact ist ein Single-Chip -Videokamera-System. Es
besteht aus einem Kamerakopf mit Fokussierung zum Anschluss an
Endoskope und einer Smartbox mit getrenntem Netzteilmodul.
Das Kamerasystem ist für Anwendungen in der Medizin (Endoskopie) und
der Industrie (Endoskopie, Labordiagnostik, zerstörungsfreie Material-
prüfung) entwickelt worden.
Achtung: Diese Gebrauchsanweisung (= GA) dient dazu, die Geräte und
ihre bestimmungsgemäßen Einsatzmöglichkeiten ausführlich
kennen zu lernen und zu nutzen. Sie muss darum ständig am
Einsatzort der Geräte griffbereit zur Verfügung stehen.
Alle Personen die diese Geräte bedienen, müssen zuvor diese GA
sorgfältig lesen. Die Bedienung darf nur gemäß dieser GA er-
folgen.
Die GA enthält wichtige Hinweise, die für einen sicheren, fach-
gerechten und wirtschaftlichen Betrieb dieser Geräte notwendig
