future reference.
The term “power tool” in the warnings
refers to your mains-operated (corded)
power tool or battery-operated (cordless)
power tool.
Work area safety
1. Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or
dark areas invite accidents.
2. Do not operate power tools in explosive
atmospheres, such as in the presence of
ammable liquids, gases or dust. Power tools
create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.
3. Keep children and bystanders away while

Electrical safety
1. Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never
modify the plug in any way. Do not use any
adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) power
tools. Unmodied plugs and matching outlets will
reduce risk of electric shock.
2. Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded
surfaces, such as pipes, radiators, ranges and
refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric
shock if your body is earthed or grounded.
3. Do not expose power tools to rain or wet
conditions. Water entering a power tool will
increase the risk of electric shock.
4. Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for
carrying, pulling or unplugging the power tool.
Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges
or moving parts. Damaged or entangled cords
increase the risk of electric shock.
5. When operating a power tool outdoors, use an
extension cord suitable for outdoor use. Use of
a cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of
electric shock.
6. If operating a power tool in a damp location
is unavoidable, use a residual current device
(RCD) protected supply. Use of an RCD reduces
the risk of electric shock.
7. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be
replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent
or similarly qualied persons in order to avoid
a hazard.
Personal safety
1. Stay alert, watch what you are doing and
use common sense when operating a power
tool. Do not use a power tool while you are
tired or under the inuence of drugs, alcohol
or medication. A moment of inattention while
operating power tools may result in serious
personal injury.
2. Use personal protective equipment. Always
wear eye protection. Protective equipment such
as dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or
hearing protection used for appropriate conditions
will reduce personal injuries.
3. Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the

jewellery or long hair can be caught in moving parts.
7. If devices are provided for the connection of
dust extraction and collection facilities, ensure
these are connected and properly used. Use of
dust collection can reduce dust-related hazards.
Power tool use and care
1. Do not force the power tool. Use the correct
power tool for your application. The correct
power tool will do the job better and safer at the rate
for which it was designed.
2. Do not use the power tool if the switch does not
turn it on and off. Any power tool that cannot be
controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be
repaired.
3. Disconnect the plug from the power source and/
or the battery pack from the power tool before
making any adjustments, changing accessories,
or storing power tools. Such preventive safety
measures reduce the risk of starting the power tool
accidentally.
4. Store idle power tools out of the reach of
children and do not allow persons unfamiliar
with the power tool or these instructions
to operate the power tool. Power tools are
dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
5. Maintain power tools. Check for misalignment
or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts
and any other condition that may affect the
power tool’s operation. If damaged, have the
power tool repaired before use. Many accidents
are caused by poorly maintained power tools.
6. Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly
maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are
less likely to bind and are easier to control.
7. Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc.
in accordance with these instructions, taking into
account the working conditions and the work to
be performed. Use of the power tool for operations
different from those intended could result in a
hazardous situation.
Service
1. Have your power tools serviced by a qualied
repair person using only identical replacement
parts. This will ensure that safety of the power tool is
maintained.

product may result in serious personal injury.
3. Hold the product by insulated gripping
surfaces only, because the saw chain may
contact hidden wiring or its own cord. Saw
chains contacting a “live” wire may make exposed
metal parts of the product “live” and could give the
operator an electric shock.
4. Keep cable away from cutting area. During
operation the cable may be hidden in shrubs and
can be accidentally cut by the blade.
5. Keep all parts of the body away from the saw
chain when the product is operating. Before you
start the product, make sure the saw chain is
not contacting anything. A moment of inattention
while operating products may cause entanglement
of your clothing or body with the saw chain.
6. Always hold the product with both hands on the
handle and soft grip. Holding the product with only
one hand or on parts not intended for that increases
the risk of personal injury and should never be
done.
7. Wear safety glasses and hearing protection.
Further protective equipment for head, hands,
legs and feet is recommended. Adequate
protective clothing will reduce personal injury by
ying debris or accidental contact with the saw
chain.

9. Always keep proper footing and operate the
product only when standing on xed, secure and
level surface. Slippery or unstable surfaces such as
ladders may cause a loss of balance or control of the
product.
10. When cutting a limb that is under tension be alert
for spring back. When the tension in the wood bres
is released the spring loaded limb may strike the
operator and/or throw the product out of control.
11. Use extreme caution when cutting brush and
saplings. The slender material may catch the saw
chain and be whipped toward you or pull you off
balance.
12. Carry the product by the soft grip with the
product switched off and away from your body.
When transporting or storing the product always
t the guide bar cover. Proper handling of the

Pinching the saw chain along the top of the guide
bar may push the guide bar rapidly back towards the
operator.
Either of these reactions may cause you to lose control
of the saw which could result in serious personal injury.
Do not rely exclusively upon the safety devices built into
your saw. As a product user, you should take several
steps to keep your cutting jobs free from accident or
injury.
Kickback is the result of tool misuse and/or incorrect
operating procedures or conditions and can be avoided
by taking proper precautions as given below:
1. Maintain a rm grip, with thumbs and ngers
encircling the product handles, with both hands
on the saw and position your body and arm to
allow you to resist kickback forces. Kickback
forces can be controlled by the operator, if proper
precautions are taken. Do not let go of the product.
2. Do not overreach. This helps prevent unintended
tip contact and enables better control of the product
in unexpected situations.
3. Only use replacement bars and chains specied
by the manufacturer. Incorrect replacement bars
and chains may cause chain breakage and/or
kickback.
4. Follow the manufacturer’s sharpening and
maintenance instructions for the saw chain.
Decreasing the depth gauge height can lead to
increased kickback.
than intended could result in a hazardous situation.
16. Pay attention to national and local regulations.
National and local regulations may restrict the use
of this product.
17.Only use replacement guide bars and saw chains
specied by the manufacturer or equivalent
replacements. Using non-approved cutting
attachments can result in personal injuries and
damage to property.
18.Before using the product and after any impact or
dropping, check for signs of wear or damage and
repair as necessary.
19.Never remove or modify any guard or safety
component. Ensure that guards and other safety
components necessary for machine operation are
in position, in good working condition and properly
maintained to avoid injuries.
20. Training of all operation is necessary for rst-time
and inexperienced operator.
21. Remove branches in section.
22. Use the harness provided.
Causes and operator prevention of kickback
Kickback may occur when the nose or tip of the guide
bar touches an object, or when the wood closes in and
pinches the saw chain in the cut.
Tip contact in some cases may cause a sudden
reverse reaction, kicking the guide bar up and back
towards the operator.

7. Please make sure the tension wheel (20) is in the position as shown
in Fig.9, or else rotate it anticlockwise to make the mark on the side
cover (12) be aligned with the mark on the tension wheel (20). ( Fig.9)
Fig. 9 Fig. 10
8. Ret the cover (12) , t the rear of cover then front, ensure pin
is located in position. Slightly tighten the locking wheel (19) (Fig.
10). Do not tighten the locking wheel (19) completely, saw chain
tensioning is required rst.
NOTE: The saw chain (14) has not yet been tensioned.
Tension the chain as described under “Saw chain
tensioning”. After operating the product for approx. 1
hour, adjust the chain tension again.
Saw chain tensioning
Always check the saw chain tension before use, after the rst cuts and
regularly during use, approx. every ve cuts. Upon initial operation, new
chains can lengthen considerably. This is normal during the break-in
period and the interval between future adjustments will lengthen quickly.
WARNING! Disconnect the product from the power
supply before adjusting saw chain tension!
The cutting edges of the saw chain are sharp! Always
wear protective gloves when handling chain!
Always maintain proper chain tension! A loose chain
increases the risk of kickback! A loose chain may jump
out of the guide bar groove! This may injure the operator
and damage the chain! A loose chain will cause rapid
wear to the chain, guide bar and sprocket!
Tensioning the chain too tightly will overload the motor
and cause damage, and insufcient tension can cause
chain derailing, whereas a correctly tightened chain
provides the best cutting characteristics and prolonged
working life! The chain life mainly depends upon
sufcient lubrication and correct tensioning!
NOTE: The chain tension can not be adjusted with the
tension wheel (19) tightened - it must be loosened rst.
1. Place the product on a suitable at surface with the side cover (12)
facing upwards.
2. Check the chain tension using one hand to lift the saw chain (14)
against the weight of the product. The correct chain tension is
achieved when the saw chain can be lifted by approximately 2 - 4 mm
from the guide bar (13) in the centre (Fig.11, 12).

3. Adjust the tension if you nd that the chain saw (14) is too loose or
tight.
4. Loosen the locking wheel (19), then rotate the tension wheel
(20) anticlockwise or clockwise until the chain “tie straps” are
just touching the bottom edge of the guide bar (12), hold it in the
position.
5. Pull the saw chain (14) along the top of the guide bar (13) by gloved
hand from one end to the other, several times. The saw chain (14)
should feel tight but still move freely.
6. After the adjustment, re-tighten the locking wheel (19).
Chain lubrication
WARNING! The product is not lled with chain oil. It is
essential to ll the product with chain oil before using it!
Never operate the product without chain oil as this will
result in extensive damage to the product!
Operating the saw chain dry or with too little chain oil
will decrease cutting efciency, shorten the product life
span and cause rapid wear to the saw chain and guide
bar from overheating!
Insufcient chain oil is evident by smoke or bar
discoloration! Adequate lubrication of the saw chain
during cutting operations is essential to minimise
friction with the guide bar!
1. Place the product on a stable, level surface with the oil tank cap (17)
facing upward. We recommend laying a non-ammable sheet under
the product.
2. Unscrew and remove the oil tank cap (17) (Fig. 13).
Fig. 13
3. Fill suitable lubricant into the tank using an oil funnel tted with a lter to
avoid debris entering the tank. Do not overll and leave approximately 5
mm of space between the top of the oil and the inside edge of the tank
to allow for expansion (Fig. 14).
NOTE: In summer use SAE #30; in winter, or if the trees
have excessive sap, use SAE #10.
Fig. 14
NOTE: Towards the end of the season, it is advisable to put
only as much lubricant in the tank as you need for each
cut, so that it is completely used up before you store the
product.
4. Check the oil level window (16) prior to start-up and regularly during
operation. Rell oil when the oil level is close to the bottom of the oil
level window (16) (Fig. 13).
5. Wipe up spilled lubricant with a soft cloth and ret the oil tank cap (17).

Kickback
WARNING! Beware of kickback! Kickback can lead to
dangerous loss of control of the product and result
in serious or fatal injury to the operator or anyone
standing close by! Always be alert because rotational
kickback and pinch kickback are major product
operational dangers and the leading cause of most

1. Kickback is the sudden backward/upward motion of the product,

contact with a log or wood, or when the chain becomes jammed.

cause severe injuries to the operator or bystanders.

can be reduced or eliminated. Sudden surprise contributes to the

carefully before attempting to operate this product.
To avoid kickback:
• Never work with a loose, widely stretched or heavily worn chain.
