Nipple
AIR SUPPLY
Tools operate on a wide range of air pressures. It is recommended
that air pressure measures 90 psig at the tool with the trigger fully
depressedandnoloadappliedtothetool.Higherpressure(over
90 psig;6.2bar)raisesperformancebeyondtheratedcapacityofthe
tool,whichwillshortentoollifeandcouldcauseinjury.
Alwaysuseclean,dryair.Dust,corrosivefumesand/orwaterinthe
airlinewillcausedamagetothetool.Drainwaterfromairlines
andcompressorpriortorunningtool.Cleantheairinletfilterscreen
weekly. The recommended hookup procedure can be viewed in the
above figure.
Theairinletusedforconnectingairsupplyhasstandard1/4"NPT.
Linepressureshouldbeincreasedtocompensateforunusuallylong
airhoses(over25feet).Minimumhosediametershouldbe5/16"
I.D.andfittingsshouldhavethesameinsidedimensionsandbe
tightly secured.
Ensure an accessible emergency shut off valve has been installed in
the air supply line and make others aware of its location.
LUBRICATION
Lubricatetheairmotordailywithhighqualityairtooloil.Ifnoairline
oilerisused,run1/2oz.ofoilthroughthetool.Theoilcanbesquirted
into the tool air inlet or into the hose at the nearest connection to the
air supply, then run the tool. A rust inhibitive oil is acceptable for air
tools.
WARNING:Afteranairtoolhasbeenlubricated,oilwilldischarge
throughtheexhaustportduringthefirstfewsecondsofoperation.The
exhaustportmustbecoveredwithatowelbeforeapplyingairpressure
topreventseriousinjury.
OPERATION
Always turn off the air supply, drain hose of air pressure and detach
toolfromairsupplybeforeinstalling,removingoradjustinganypart
or accessory on this tool, or before performing any maintenance on
this tool.
Speedadjustmentisachievedthroughvariablepressureon
the trigger.
Increasing the pressure will increase the speed of the blade.
ToChangeBlades:
1. Detachfromairsupply.
2. Loosen#24SetScrewswith#27wrench.
3. Removeoldbladeandinsertnewbladeinto#25blade
holder,andtighten#24setscrews.
NOTE:Duringoperation,safetygogglesshouldalwaysbewornto
guardagainstyingrustandchips(users&bystanders).
TROUBLESHOOTING
Otherfactorsoutsidethetoolmaycauselossofpowerorerratic
action.Reducedcompressoroutput,excessivedrainontheairline,
moisture or restrictions in air pipes or the use of hose connections of
impropersizeorpoorconditionsmayreduceairsupply.Gritorgum
deposits in the tool may cut power and may be corrected by cleaning
the air strainer and flushing out the tool with gum solvent oil or an
equalmixtureofSAE#10andkerosene.Ifoutsideconditionsare
in order, disconnect tool from hose and take tool to your Mac Tools
Distributorforrepair.
