grounding-typeplug.Apolarizedplughastwobladeswith
onewiderthantheother.Agroundingtypeplughastwo
bladesandathirdgroundingprong.Thewidebladeorthe
thirdprongareprovidedforyoursafety.Iftheprovidedplug
doesnotfitintoyouroutlet,consultanelectricianfor
replacementoftheobsoleteoutlet.
10. Protectthepowercordfrombeingwalkedonorpinched
particularlyatplugs,conveniencereceptacles,andthepoint
wheretheyexitfromtheapparatus.
11. Onlyuseattachments/accessoriesspecifiedbythe
manufacturer.
12. Useonlywiththecart,stand,tripod,bracket,ortable
specifiedbythemanufacturer,orsoldwiththeappara-
tus.Whenacartisused,usecautionwhenmovingthe
cart/apparatuscombinationtoavoidinjuryfromtip-over.
13. Unplugthisapparatusduringlightningstormsorwhenun-
usedforlongperiodsoftime.
14. Referallservicingtoqualifiedservicepersonnel.Servicingis
requiredwhentheapparatushasbeendamagedinanyway,
suchaspower-supplycordorplugisdamaged,liquidhas
beenspilledorobjectshavefallenintotheapparatus,the
apparatushasbeenexposedtorainormoisture,doesnot
operatenormally,orhasbeendropped.
15. Damage Requiring Service-Theapplianceshouldbe
servicedbyqualifiedservicepersonnelwhen:
A.Thepowersupplycordortheplughasbeendamaged;
B. Objectshavefallen,orliquidhasbeenspilledintothe
appliance;
C.Theappliancehasbeenexposedtorain
D.Theappliancedoesnotappeartooperatenormallyor
exhibitsamarkedchangeinperformance;
E. Theappliancehasbeendropped,ortheenclosuredamaged.
16. Tilt/Stability-Alltelevisionsmustcomplywithrecommended
internationalglobalsafetystandardsfortilt
andstabilitypropertiesofitscabinetdesign.
•Donotcompromisethesedesignstandardsbyapplying
excessivepullforcetothefront,ortop,ofthecabinet
whichcouldultimatelyoverturntheproduct.
•Also,donotendangeryourself,orchildren,byplacing
electronicequipment/toysonthetopofthecabinet.Such
itemscouldunsuspectinglyfallfromthetopofthesetand
causeproductdamageand/orpersonalinjury.
17. Wall or Ceiling Mounting -Theapplianceshouldbe
mountedtoawallorceilingonlyasrecommendedbythe
manufacturer.
18. Power Lines-Anoutdoorantennashouldbelocated
awayfrompowerlines.
19. Outdoor Antenna Grounding-Ifanoutsideantenna
isconnectedtothereceiver,besuretheantennasystemis
groundedsoastoprovidesomeprotectionagainstvoltage
surgesandbuiltupstaticcharges.
Section810oftheNationalElectricCode,ANSI/NFPA
No.70-1984,providesinformationwithrespecttoproper
groundingofthemastandsupportingstructure,ground-
ingofthelead-inwiretoanantennadischargeunit,sizeof
groundingconnectors,locationofantenna-dischargeunit,
connectiontogroundingelectrodes,andrequirementsfor
thegroundingelectrode.SeeFigurebelow.
20. Object and Liquid Entry -Careshouldbetakenso
thatobjectsdonotfallandliquidsarenotspilledintothe
enclosurethroughopenings.
21. Battery Usage CAUTION-Topreventbattery
leakagethatmayresultinbodilyinjury,propertydamage,
ordamagetotheunit:
•Installallbatteriescorrectly,with+and-alignedas
markedontheunit.
•Donotmixbatteries(oldandneworcarbonand
alkaline,etc.).
•Removebatterieswhentheunitisnotusedforalong
time.

820-40oftheNECthatprovidesguidelinesforpropergroundingand,inparticular,specifiesthatthecablegroundshall
