Use a slotted bit that properly fits the screw

Installingor removingdriver bit
CAUTION
:
When installingor removing the bit, be careful not
to
touch the trigger switch.
To
installthe bit,placeitinthe chuck as far as
it
will
go. Tighten the chuck by hand. Place
the chuck key in each of the three holes and
tighten clockwise.
Be sure to tighten all three chuck holes
evenly.
To
remove the bit, turn the chuck key coun-
terclockwise injust one hole,then loosenthe
chuck by hand.

When drilling in wood, best results are obtained with wood drills equipped with a guide
screw. The guide screw makes drillingeasier by pullingthe bit into the workpiece.

To preventthe bitfromslippingwhen start-
ing a hole, make an indentation with a
centerpunch and hammer at the point to
be drilled. Placethe point
of
the bit inthe
Usea cutting lubricant when drillingmetals.
The exceptions are iron and brass which
