technological developments that are closely followed.

handbook is a helpful guide to the user for installing, operating and
maintaining the boiler.

1.SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
Symbol Key
This sign indicates the risk of personal injury, which may be
fatal, if the warnings are not followed.
This sign indicates the situations that may cause harm to
environment, property and animals if the warnings are not
followed.
Protect the power cable from damages and liquid contact. The
risk of electric shock occurs as a result of contact with damaged
cables. Cables in contact with liquid may cause electric shocks
and fires.
Make sure that there is proper grounding in the installation
where the energy connection is made. Use proper cross-section
cables for all electrical connections.
Risk of electric shock where grounding is insufficient. Risk of fire
occurs due to overheating of low-section cables.
Never open the front control door while the boiler is running.
The danger of personal injury as result of the flame burning out
of the combustion chamber.
Do not remove the outer cover sheets of the boiler, do not open
the protective covers. Risk of burns as a result of a contact to
hot surfaces and risk of electric shock resulting from contact
with electrical components.
Do not disconnect the boiler from the place where it was
installed. Do not interrupt its connections. During the
disconnecting process, there is a risk of electric shock resulting
from contact with electrical components and water flood risk
resulting from disconnection of water installation.
For safety it is strictly forbidden to install the boiler in enclosed
spaces where people live. The area where the boiler is installed
should be well ventilated and have constantly fresh air intake.
Do not perform any cleaning or maintenance without turning the
unit off and disconnecting the power supply. Risk of electric
shock as a result of contact with electrical components.
Do not allow children or anyone who does not know how to use
the boiler to intervene. Risk of damage to boiler as a result of
improper use.

1.1 GENERAL PRECAUTIONS BEFORE USAGE
•Check that the area if it complies with the technical requirements for chimney
connection,water and electrical installation.
•For safety and safe use of electrical installation, make sure that the
installation has a proper earth connection with isolation and that the earth line
is not phase-misplaced.
•Your pellet boiler is guaranteed for 2 (two) years against material and
manufacturing defects, providing that the warnings and standards stated in the
operating instructions are followed. The manufacturer is not responsible for any
faults or damages of the product results from unintentional, incorrect or
unintended use that are against the instructions.
•Do not misuse the boilers. Our boilers are manufactured to provide hot water
(max. 90 °C) to the heating system.
•Permanent fresh air should be supplied to the area where the device is
installed. For safety, it is strictly forbidden to install boilers in enclosed spaces
where people live.
•Do not operate boilers without water. Never make a cold water supply to a hot
boiler. If the boiler temperature has risen above 90°C for any reason, do not
cool the boiler and do not supply cold water to increase the water level until the
boiler temperature decrease below 40°C.
•Water at the installation should not be discharged except for repair and frost
hazard. Anti-freeze can be added to the installation water at a rate of 15%
against frost hazard.
•When the boiler is running, the difference between the flow and return water
should be at most 20°C.
•Water that has high amount of lime are extremely inconvenient for boilers and
installations. In such cases it is necessary to use water softening devices.
Defects that may occur as a result of water leaks or blockages due to lime in
the boiler are not covered by the warranty.
•Every year before the heating season, the boiler body, chimney connection
pipes and chimney must be controlled and cleaned. In this way, the system can
be operated more efficiently.
•Water should never be taken from the boiler for domestic use.

•Boiler should be mounted in balance, and mounted on 10cm high
place from ground when installed in boiler room.
•Boiler should be connected to a well draught chimney and minimum
number of elbows should be used between chimney and boiler.
•The boiler should be placed where it can get enough air for efficient
combustion. MAKTEK MKP series boilers are produced with closed
expansion tank and 3 bar safety valve on the device. It is
recommended that an additional safety valve could be installed on
device to meet the expansions in the installation too.
•Inside of the installation must be cleaned before the first starting
boiler connecting to the installation. The best way is to give water
from one side of the pipes and drain it from the other side.
•The circulation pump should be mounted on the return pipe of the
boiler water.
•There should be adequate space left for service intervention, device
control and fuel loading while device is mounting.
•Valve connection should be made on the boiler water return lines.
•The chimney connections must be leakproof. The chimney
connection pipes of the device must be used at the same diameter
without any narrowing on section from the device outlet to the chimney
hole.
•Earth connection of the device should be done properly, electrical
connection of the circulation pump must be done correctly and
authorized service must be called at all electrical faults.
4.BOILER MOUNTING

4.1 INSTALLATION AND FILLING WATER TO THE SYSTEM
⚫A by-pass line should be arranged between the inlet and outlet points of
the circulation pump, as shown in the installation diagram, in order to increase
the safety oin the event of a power failure or other case that can cause
circulation pump does not function. The valve on by-pass line should be kept
closed during normal functioning. If there is an electricity outage and a risk of
overheating appears, the valve must be opened and the evacuation of hot
water must be provided by natural circulation. The diameter of the pipe to be
used at by pass line should be the same diameter size with the pipe used in
installation at minimum.
⚫ An infinite power source may be used for electricty cut as an extra security
measure.
⚫ Install a 3 bar safety valve on the boiler for protection against over
pressure. The diameter of the safety valve should be min. 1".
⚫It is recommended to mount circulation pump on return line for protecting it
from overheating (stream).
⚫ All connections and valve positions must be checked after the installation
of the boiler is complete.
⚫ Operations like water filling or draining must be done while the boiler is
not working and when it is cold.
⚫Monitor the pressure gauge while filling water to the system. Make sure
that the pressure is 1.5bars.
⚫Make sure to vent all the trapped air from the system using the air purgers
on the radiators and on the installation.
⚫Avoid any installation that might block air in the system, if any doubt,
please use automatic purger.

4.3 VENTILATION
The area where the boiler is installed, must always be suppplied with fresh
air by opening a window or a duct. Fresh air is required in order to burn the
fuel safely and efficiently. Otherwise once the burning starts, the oxygen
level will drop and the burning will detoriate. Detoriation of burning will
cause the burning efficiency to decrease, accumulation of soot in the
chimney and will require frequent cleaning.
4.4 CHIMNEY
•The chimney that will be connected to the boiler must be seperate.
The chimney must be connected to provide adequate draught. A boiler
without chimney connection should not be operated.
• Chimney connection pipe and pipe systematic should be installed and
checked by authorized people only. We remind you that the biggest
factor in boiler efficiency is chimney design and draught.
• Proper chimney connection pipe should not be smaller than the
boiler's chimney diameter, horizontal length must not be shorter than
60 cm and longer than 2 meters and pipe must be connected to the
chimney with minimum 10 degree of angle.
• We suggest not to use enamel stove pipes bause they cause tars in
chimney connection pipe or chimney system.
• In case of an elbow use in chimney connection, the elbows must have
round and wide angle. Quantity of an elbow must be maximum 2
pieces.
• Chimney connection must be installed to allow demounting from the
boiler and avoid gas leaking.
•Chimney connection pipe must not be extended to the outside and
must be connected to a chimney.
•Chimney connection pipe's contact with flammable material must be
avoided.
•Chimney connection pipe shouldn't be pushed inside the chimney.
•The direction of the chimney should not be changed. If there is a
turnaround need,it must be positioned by 60°C.
•The chimney must be leak proof and air transperancy from inside and
outside must be avoided.
•Do not connect more than one boiler and another device to same
chimney. This would decrease chimney draught and boiler efficiency.
•There should be no contact between the chimneys which are placed
side by side.
•There should be no sectional narrowing in any part of the chimney.

4.5 CHIMNEY CONNECTION SCHEMA
•Main walls of the building should never be used as chimney wall
element. Unless compulsory, chimney must be inside the building. If
the chimney must pass from outside, the isolation must be done
properly.
•The chimney must be frequently cleaned in order to avoid forming tar
and soot and clogs that would prevent chimney draught.
•There shouldn't be foreign objects, cement or surface fragments inside
the chimney, as these would cause narrowing in sections of chimney
and result in decrease on chimney draught.

Button
It is on off button of the boiler. It is used as reset button in failures.
It must be held down for 2 seconds to switch on, off and reset.
Fuel Loading It is used for manuel preloading by only services while first starting (Users shouldn't do
preloading)

Button must be pushed once to close the sound. (Use the reset button to remove it
from the fault.)
Data Screen An LCD screen that allows to monitor the boiler's running equipment and set values.

7.STARTING UP AND USAGE
Boiler start up must only be done by qualified service personnel.
7.1 FIRST BURNING
At first start-up, the system water must be completely filled and air must
be removed from system. The system water pressure should be 1.5 bar
on the manometer which placed on front panel.
Pellet should be filled in the fuel tank until the 15 cm level to top cover.The
first fuel filling (preloading) to the combustion chamber should only be
carried out by authorized services. This process is only done once before
the first start. Since the fuel level in the fuel tank is controlled by the
electronic fuel level sensor, this operation is unnecessary when the fuel
is exhausted while the boiler is being used.
To activate the boiler press and hold the on-off button on the control
panel until the LCD screen opens. The fuel loading and burning
process will be done by boiler itself because the boiler is fully
automatic. During the ignition operation, the temperature and auto
setting writings will be replace and flash on the LCD.
When the combustion occurs, the burning symbol appears on the
screen and the boiler continues to run automatically at the factory
settings.
Factory settings are recommended as user settings and are given in
the table below. The automatic operating parameters can be changed
by the user by taking into account the isolation condition of the
building or the type of pellet used.
The desired boiler water temperature is set by the user with the
temperature setting button and the automatic operation of the boiler
is provided.
If room thermostat connection is made optionally, the user can
control the boiler by adjusting the desired room temperature via the
room thermostat.
When the boiler water temperature (room temperature when room
thermostat is used) reaches the level that the user has set, the boiler
stops burning and goes to waiting mode. When the water
temperature drops below 3°C from the set temperature, the boiler
automatically resumes burning and operates at user settings.

7.2 WARNINGS ABOUT PELLET
Pellets of 6-8 mm in diameter, 6-30 mm in length, made of wood with
shells peeled, moisture content 10% -15%, 3500-4000kcal lower heat
value, no chemicals and additives were added and in suitable standarts
should be used in the boiler. Our company is not responsible for any faults
and inefficient operation in case of using an improper pellet. It is important
to make sure that there are no foreign substances in the pellet. Damage
caused by foreign material coming out of the pellet is not covered by the
warranty.
Pellets made of chipboard and MDF powder should never be used in the
boiler.
7.3 USAGE PRECAUTIONS
When the boiler water temperature reaches 30°C in burning, the circulation
pump is activated. This prevents both unnecessary electricity consumption
and prevents the boiler from the water vapor damage caused from heating
up quickly to sweat. At the same time, it prevents sending not fully heated
water to the radiators.
The boiler water temperature continuously decreases when the
fuel is exhausted and the circulation pump is deactivated when it
reaches 30°C. When the boiler water temperature drops to 25°C, all
functions stop.
The fan is automatically switched off when the boiler water temperature
reaches at the set thermostat limit. The fan starts to work again when the
boiler water temperature falls below 5°C from the set temperature.
You can monitor the activation and deactivation of the circulation pump,
fan and reductor from symbols on LCD sceen in control panel.
As long as the boiler is not unplugged, the circulation pump will
automatically switch on for 3 seconds in 25 hours. This prevents faults
that may occur in the pump in case of disuse for a long period of time.
ATTENTION!!!
In case of power cut, the boiler water may increase
to boiling point temperature because it is difficult to control
the high heat in the boiler due to the circulation pump stop.
For this reason,
1- Never open the boiler doors.
2- If there are bypass valves in the system, open them.
3- When power is supplied, make all settings to the old operating situation.

8. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
•In order to use your boiler safely for a long period of time, please pay
attention to below mentioned rules of cleaning and maintainence.
• Pellets of 6-8mm in diameter, 6-30mm in length, made of wood with
shells peeled, moisture content 10% -15%, 3500-4000kcal lower heat
value, no chemicals and additives were added and in suitable
standarts should be used in the boiler.
•Pellets made of chipboard and MDF powder should never be used in
the boiler.
The ash drawer of the boiler should be cleaned when it is full.
• In order to obtain high efficiency from your boiler, you must use high
quality, high calorie and dry fuel.
• To clean the smoke pipe,clean the helezones by shaking them by
moving the cleaning handle on the left side of the boiler about 10
times up and down once a day. In this way, it is prevented that
the smoke pipes are blocked with combustion wastes.
• The air flows in the combustion chamber and the combustion
chamber is automatically cleaned with the fan. If any deterioration is
observed in the combustion, combustion chamber can be cleaned by
inserting a hard material with appropriate diameter in its holes.
• Cut off all electricity connections before starting maintenance of the
boiler. Ventilate the air in tha place while cleaning the boiler.
Before the winter season, maintain the electrical, chimney and
plumbing connections of the boiler. Check boiler water pressure
regularly. (Ideal working pressure 1.5bar)
We recommend that you take your periodic maintenance to our authorized services.
9.SUGGESTIONS FOR ECONOMIC USE
•For proper ventilation, windows should be completely opened for a short
time and radiator valves should be turned off at the same time.
•Pay attention not to heat up the place too much: room temprature must
be kept at 20°C. Keeping room temperature 1°C less makes a 6%
economy on heating costs.
•When the weather gets dark, close the shutters if any.
•Do not cover the fronts of the radiators with furniture.
•Take advantage of the boiler control panel's special setting possibilities,
and set the desired DHW temperature from the operating panel. In this
case, you will avoid to overheat the water and unnecessary fuel
consumption.
