How to Tie Square Knots
Hold rope B in your left hand and
the end of rope A in your right
hand.
Wrap A once to the right around B,
just like the first step in tying a
bow in your shoelace. A is now
sticking out to the right and B is to
the left.
Cross rope A over rope B to form
an X.

Cross A over B again, forming
another X.
Pull on the free ends to tighten
the knot.
Wrap A once to the left around B.

Repeat step 2 to step 6 until 6
square knots formed.
Rope B should always connect to
the exit holes, and rope A should
sticking out. Cut rope A if it is too
long.
Once rope A have the appropriate
length, use lighter to burn the end
of the rope.

Rudder Kit Installation
Put the footbrace into the tracks,
make sure it is facing to the
stopper side of the tracks.
Install the V-Block as above
picture. Make sure there is enough
space between the rudder blade
and the handle. Plus, the blade
should exceed the V-Block by 1”.
Install the rudder bracket at the
back of the kayak. Make sure the
tab is pointing upward.
Install the rudder assembly into
the rudder bracket.
Attach the split ring to the end of
the rudder as indicated.
Install the tracks on the kayak as
shown in the picture above .

Rudder Kit Installation
Drill the entry holes as indicated.
Make sure to use drill bit size 3/32
or 2.3813mm.
Cut the supplied vectran lines in
half. Tie each half to the rudder
asseembly as indicated using the
D shackles. (see instruction,“How
to Tie Square Knots”.)
Align the rope loop to the side of
the kayak.
Once the loop is in the proper
position, and there is enough
tension; put an eyelet through the
loop and fasten the eyelet on the
kayak.
Position the round padeyes with
equal distance, and fasten them
on the kayak.
Drill the exit holes as indicated.
Use the same drill bit size as step

Position the cable clamps. Make sure the vertran lines are aligned with the
gunnal and away from obstacles inside of the kayak. Once the desired
positions are located, drill the pilot holes and put the screws through.
Feed the vectran lines into the
entry holes as indicated.
Reaching inside from the hatch
opening, and guide the vectran
lines to the exit holes.
Pull the vectran lines out from the
exit holes as indicated.

Rudder Kit Installation
From within the hatch find the
screws inside the kayak, put the
vectran lines into the clamps and
tie it down with the provided
locknuts as indicated.
Position the rudder blade at dead
center of the kayak.
Put the lines through the loop of
the footbrace straps as shown in
picture above.

Tie the square knots (see instruc-
tions,“How to Tie Square Knots”).
Now, you’re ready to use the
rudder kit.
