Tile Roof Instructions Tin Roof Instructions
Step 1: Determine location for 6’ mast. Remove tile where foot of mast will be located. Also
remove tiles approximately 2 rows down and a minimum 2 tiles to the left and right of the
mast. (Where each tile is removed ensure a rafter is accessible)
Step 2: Insert bolts into Z brackets as shown in diagram.
Position the Z-bracket complete with bolt so that the bolt head now sits on top of the tile
immediately below the removed one.Allow a 20mm space between the edge of the lower
tile and the middle of the z-bracket (see diagram)
Secure the Z-brackets to the rafter using the supplied 25mm tech screws (we do not
recommend xing to batons)
Step 3: Use pliers to bend the foot of the mast to suite gradient of the roof line. (The bend
should be positioned on the higher side of the mast) Bolt the mast to the Z-bracket.
Bolt telescopic stay arms to Z-bracket. (Please ensure the thinner end of the telescopic stay
arms are secured to the roof to prevent water ingress into mount)
Secure the collar clamp on the mast and connect the telescopic stay arms using the bolts on
the collar. You can now adjust the height of collar. It is recommended to be a minimum 3 foot
up the mast.
Step 4: Whilst ensuring the mast is vertical x the stay arms by using the supplied 15mm
tech screws (2 tech screws per stay arm) and then secure the collar bracket to the mast
using the remaining 15mm tech screws.
You can now replace the removed tiles. We recommend the use of silicon between the
z-brackets and tiles. This will help prevent vibration of the z-bracket against the tile.
Please note: Z brackets are not required for installation on tin roof. There will also be 3
nuts & bolts and 6 large tech screws after installation.
Step 1: Determine location for 6’ mast. Use pliers to bend the foot of the mast to suite
the gradient of the roof line. (The bend should be positioned on the lower side of the mast)
Secure the mast using an existing roong screw.
Secure the two collar brackets to the mast using the bolts provided (do not x with tech
screws at this point as some adjustment will be required)
Step 2: Determine the location for the telescopic stay arms to be secured to the roof. Most
commonly this will be the next row of roong screws on the lower side of the mast, and
about two feet either side of the mast. You will need to bend the foot of the stay arms to
suite the gradient of the roof.
Secure stay arms using existing roong screws. (Please ensure the thinner end of the
telescopic stay arms are secured to the roof to prevent water ingress into mount)
Step 3: Connect the telescopic stay arms to the mast by using the bolts which are already
securing the collar to the mast. You can now adjust the height of collar. It is recommended to
be a minimum 3 foot up the mast.
Whilst ensuring the mast is vertical x the stay arms by using the supplied 15mm tech
screws (2 tech screws per stay arm) and then secure the collar bracket to the mast using
the remaining 15mm tech screws.
Check all seals around the roong screws used on the mount. The use of silicon is advised.
